And then of course the Khitomer accords and peace between the Klingon Empire and UFP resembles the political climate following the end of the Cold War.
Great video as always. Great editing. Must be kinda fun skimming through episodes to find the most dynamic bit of a scene to include as a visual. Klingon soldiers marching in a group, a slow pan up to Chancellor Gorkon, Romulan ship uncloaking to join the fleet with the Federation and Klingons--all really neat-looking.

this was very informative and needs at least 120,000,000 views from fans (personal opinion)...might have already been brought to your attention but the closed caption text at 2:27 (as of this writing) says Suliban football and NFL terrorist organization ...i'm guessing this is the result of an automatic word to text algorithm that's not exactly up to Universal Translator Standards...there are other somewhat odd translations sprinkled throughout the segment such as the Breen being called the Green and a pivotal romulan/klingon conflict that shaped further relations is transformed into "clock ticking"... and look for the corvette negotiation at 8:27 (which is kinda awesome)...and the mispronounciation of praetor into romulan free tours...(also very awesome) not actually that distracting whilst watching but still a lot of fun to read none the less
I loved the videos, thank you so much. You should do the other races, like the Ferengi, the Cardassians, and the Betazoids. I'm particularly interested in the Vulcan-Romulan Divide.
.34 seconds in and I can't help but want to pause and say I love you. Just finished watching a horror of a bio on a Russian serial killer..monster is more like it..and I'm all on edge and upset and like instantly your voice calmed me down..not exaggerating or anything - the moment you started talking I instantly calmed down in mind, body and spirit and I just had to say I didn't even know how upset I was until this peace washed over me like a waterfall so thank you for that and I can't wait to watch the rest of the vid, love love love your channel and you so so so much💗
Great video and the first part as well. Thanks!! Really takes me back to see so many scenes from the Dominion war and the Enterprise C from the "Yesterday's Enterprise" episode of TNG and the Duras sisters trying to get control of the empire etc as well. I really have to watch my TNG DVD collection again at some point :)
One thing that always got me despite the fall of the Romulan Star Empire, on Star Trek Online or STO for short. During the Legacy of Romulus expansion. After the sacrifice of a Romulan Republic commander shielding himself and a bomb on Khitomer during peace talks to thwart sabotage by the Star Empire/ Tal Shiar. It was in this act that actually make the Klingons become the first faction to recognize the Romulan Republic of De'wa III, and offer to be an ally to them.
Dude this is awesome, I've watched star trek my whole life and even I wasnt aware of all these details. Most of this was news to me in how it fit together in the larger tale of how peace came to be between klingons and the federation. Before I always just said "Kirk and Picard did it"
You gotta admit that backtrack story trying to explain why Klingons did not Have ridges in TOS then having them in TNG was pretty good: for and the unintentional mess they made(not sure who decides how the aliens will look I assume the writers) when adding forehead ridges in later on.
this is an excellent production. my gushing about great it is in the patreon. you're getting better with each video, thank you for reminding me how much I love trek. Extremely fascinating, I didn't expect to enjoy this video as much as I did, mainly do to the fact that I'm only familiar with the JJ Abrams reimagining of Star Trek. But found the videos highly informativ and surprisingly easy to understand for a Kelvin universe only viewer. Great work :D
these 2 videos better summarized the star trek universe better than the last I watched. But, I suppose, it's only because I watched that video, i was recommended these.
only discovers your channel today. love it! would love to see a video on voyagers jorney home. mapping out every time they cut time off there 75 year journey!
Parts 1 & 2 clear up a lotta stuff, even good fiction needs a background, good job explaining it all in a streamlined way. Already subscribed quite a while ago.
Great video, and thank for putting it together. I didn't know about the Hur'Q before. But their history with the Klingons was prior to Klingons obtaining (or developing?) warp technology. But, I may be overlooking an explanation for how Klingons acquired warp technology. I recall someone's (I beleive it was ambassador Sarek) vague reference to how a fist contact experience with the Klingons had "tragic consequences". After hearing your part one reference to the Hur'Q, that could've been the "tragic consequences" being referred to, but I don't know. When I first heard the reference by "Sarek" I began to assume he was referring to a Vulcan first contact experience with the Klingons which had tragic consequences... and this was somehow related to the Klingons acquiring warp technology? However, I haven't heard a direct explanation of how Klingons acquired warp tech.
I truly enjoyed the way you explain the history with picture and insight, they are a great part of the Star Trek Universe Well done May your knowledge be well received by the interested Star Trek fan.
That big jump at 4 and a half minutes. That's what's being filled in now. I'm going to look for a supplement to this series. I hope you're working on one. It even looks like the show is explaining how there can be the new looking Klingons and the more familiar ones.

+just another individual Thank you! No worries, the subscribers will come :)
Excellent editing, narration (even audio quality), and research. I love your videos man, well deserved like and sub!
Welcome aboard =)
this was very informative and needs at least 120,000,000 views from fans (personal opinion)...might have already been brought to your attention but the closed caption text at 2:27 (as of this writing) says Suliban football and NFL terrorist organization ...i'm guessing this is the result of an automatic word to text algorithm that's not exactly up to Universal Translator Standards...there are other somewhat odd translations sprinkled throughout the segment such as the Breen being called the Green and a pivotal romulan/klingon conflict that shaped further relations is transformed into "clock ticking"... and look for the corvette negotiation at 8:27 (which is kinda awesome)...and the mispronounciation of praetor into romulan free tours...(also very awesome) not actually that distracting whilst watching but still a lot of fun to read none the less
I’m only 5 years late but I was hoping to hear a little bit about the Tribbles who almost starved the Klingons to death
I loved the videos, thank you so much. You should do the other races, like the Ferengi, the Cardassians, and the Betazoids. I'm particularly interested in the Vulcan-Romulan Divide.
.34 seconds in and I can't help but want to pause and say I love you. Just finished watching a horror of a bio on a Russian serial killer..monster is more like it..and I'm all on edge and upset and like instantly your voice calmed me down..not exaggerating or anything - the moment you started talking I instantly calmed down in mind, body and spirit and I just had to say I didn't even know how upset I was until this peace washed over me like a waterfall so thank you for that and I can't wait to watch the rest of the vid, love love love your channel and you so so so much💗
+Aphrodite OnEarth Your welcome :)
If you need more, check out my personal channel.
You made it sound like real history👽Live Long And Prosper✌🏼️🖖🏽
Thanks for this! I've never been able to piece everything together.
I absolutely adore all of these videos! Bravo!
Thank you for watching!
You are very welcome! I look forward to the next one!
Best book I ever read on Klingons’ John Ford’s The Final Reflection. Masterful and rich.
Really impressive coherent streamline of a lot of information. I hope someone does something this good for Dalek history someday.
I am speechless . . . awesome video (part 1 & 2)! Thank you!
Great conclusion to a well-researched topic! Thank you.
Finally! Very Good work
Dude this is awesome, I've watched star trek my whole life and even I wasnt aware of all these details. Most of this was news to me in how it fit together in the larger tale of how peace came to be between klingons and the federation.
Before I always just said "Kirk and Picard did it"
this was really good man i appreciate the work ya put in! you should do a bunch of these for the diff races
Outstanding Trek documentary.
So good I watched it twice. Great job, you shown me things even I did not know about the series.
Twice! Brave soul...
Thank you =)
You gotta admit that backtrack story trying to explain why Klingons did not Have ridges in TOS then having them in TNG was pretty good: for and the unintentional mess they made(not sure who decides how the aliens will look I assume the writers) when adding forehead ridges in later on.
this is an excellent production. my gushing about great it is in the patreon. you're getting better with each video, thank you for reminding me how much I love trek.
This video isnt linking to part one as well as the patreon in the cards, no harm to add it to help click through for anyone coming over from reddit just in case :-)
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the love =)
And yea, part one isn't linked in his video. I am using the new end screen annotations, which you cannot use with the old system. It is either / or. Alas
*Shakes fist at UA-cam*
UA-cam, designed for creators for sure :-p
That clicking power noise you have in your video sounds almost exactly like the noise my UPS units make when turning on....
Holy cow your channel has the best content. Thanks for the video.
I really enjoy listening to your content while I play Stellaris
Extremely fascinating, I didn't expect to enjoy this video as much as I did, mainly do to the fact that I'm only familiar with the JJ Abrams reimagining of Star Trek. But found the videos highly informativ and surprisingly easy to understand for a Kelvin universe only viewer. Great work :D
YOU ARE MY TARGET AUDIENCE
these 2 videos better summarized the star trek universe better than the last I watched. But, I suppose, it's only because I watched that video, i was recommended these.
History of the Romulans would be very interesting.
only discovers your channel today. love it! would love to see a video on voyagers jorney home. mapping out every time they cut time off there 75 year journey!
That is a REALLY good idea!
Welcome aboard =)
Parts 1 & 2 clear up a lotta stuff, even good fiction needs a background, good job explaining it all in a streamlined way. Already subscribed quite a while ago.
This was a fun project.
thanks for uploading this can't wait to watch more of these videos
Got loads more coming =)
Welcome aboard.
Very nice! Thank you for the insights! If had a wish, I'd wish for the history of the Ferengi next.
However, I haven't heard a direct explanation of how Klingons acquired warp tech.
amazing work 10 /10 .
It even looks like the show is explaining how there can be the new looking Klingons and the more familiar ones.
all your vids have great production and are insightful to boot. thanks for all the hard work
Just wonderful. I love how you woke old and new and the timeline was so on point. Well-done.
So beautifull to see all together in the batlle against the dominium!
