Thanks for the video :-) I'm on youtube exploring Antigua for opportunities and I'm going to relocate there. So you're videos are very helpful. Also just want to say you are very attractive and have a sweet personality. I wish you the best in your studies and hope you enjoy the Caribbean!
Velvet Kat Surprisingly, I was just using my phone! And yessss, it's so peaceful every night (aside from the sound of crickets and other nocturnal bugs 😂)
Hey! Seems like you are having fun.. You speak about the island but what academic advice would you give to a med 1 student? What items other than the packing list should I bring?
Same! I'm home too lol I'm glad a lot of students started vlogging their AUA journey as well. Maybe we could all collab on the island after this whole COVID thing is over 😂
Tysm! 💕 It's definitely an island that should be included in everyone's bucket list! 😂 and I actually used my phone for this video, but for my sit down vids (like the 2nd vid on this channel), I use the Nikon D3200 📷
Hey, awesome video! I'm also Filipino and very interested in AUA. How is the safety aspect of the campus and overall feel on the island? Do they have campus bus services that take students to the "downtown" area or nearest grocery store? Thanks in advance!
That's so cool! I personally feel like the campus itself is really safe, and we do have someone checking for IDs before letting us in the campus vicinity. The overall feel of the island feels like the Philippines -- but more on the province side lol. They also do have a bus service available for students, but a lot of students either do a taxi contract, rent/buy their own cars. I know the bus won't take you to the "downtown" area, but not so sure bout the grocery stores. I do know that a taxi contract will take you on a weekly grocery run thoe! Hope that helps! :)
The curriculum is organized by systems (which is ideal). Just like other schools, there are great professors and there are some that needs improvement. 😂 Overall, academic wise -- the curriculum will prepare us for STEP1
Yup! you buy your own white coat and bring it to the island with you. I believe the patch should be available in the student library/store. However, the school does embroider your name and sew in the patch for free before your white coat ceremony!
Those are awesome video suggestions! Definitely gonna make those after exams lol I do have one that I'll be posting maybe in a week or two -- basically an updated day in a life featuring remote learning 😅
Of course! I'm not sure what the size of my cohort was, but the Spring cohorts are usually smaller than the Fall cohorts. Depending on your housing assignment, you can be assigned a roommate, or you can have the whole place to yourself. Particulary for on-campus housing, you can have 1-2 house mates. You do have a room to yourself, but you will be sharing the bathroom (if you got the shared option), kitchen, and living room.
Hi, I just got accepted into AUA, also AUC but have to do « MERP » first. Merp starts next month and AUA January. If you were in that situation, would you do the MERP program and if it’s successful attend AUC or just wait for January and go straight to first semester at AUA?
Soooo excited and proud of you!! Can’t wait to see more of the island and your med school journey. Good luck!! ❤️

Does the University provide scholarships to international students
What did you think of the administration? Was the curriculum organized? Did faculty do a good job of teaching? Sorry so many questions! Haha thank you
The curriculum is organized by systems (which is ideal). Just like other schools, there are great professors and there are some that needs improvement. 😂 Overall, academic wise -- the curriculum will prepare us for STEP1
@@PhillineEunice thank you for responding! Appreciate the information.
You buy own white coat was told. How get AUA patch? Thanks

@@PhillineEunice Thank you. Your vid is everything. 1st sem still remote 2021. Have an interview setup. Any tips, type questions they might ask?

They dont have a white coat ceremony?
Thank you. 🙏 What was the student body size when you started?. Also are you assigned a roommate or optional?
Of course! I'm not sure what the size of my cohort was, but the Spring cohorts are usually smaller than the Fall cohorts. I would wait for January and go straight to first semester just to save on the cost of doing another program, in this case, MERP.
