I got chills listening to the section about the old hotel because I was a little girl when I ate there. (and I am retired now….soooo…😂) It was so nostalgic for me to watch this video in my childhood hometown! Thank you.
Loved the interview and tour! I met Steve and Andy about 6 years ago at the Kentucky Sheep and Fiber Festival and several other festivals and markets and now attend their retreat. I have quite a collection of their yarn. ❤
Extremely well done interview and tour! I’m in love with the space they are expanding into - all the aged brick is beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration and episode! 🍂
That cool toned lavender purple skein absolutely has my heart. Super beautiful! Leading Men is one of my favorite booths when the fiber fair comes to town, seeing them featured here is so cool!
Thank you, Natalie! I love the colorway and I ordered it right away. I’ve loved Leading Men Fiber Arts for a decade-they make beautiful yarn (a lot of which is still in my stash). I’m looking forward to making socks out of the Knitty Knatty colorway!
This was a great video to watch! I just love your family colourway and to see it actually dyed up in the pot was so exciting. Would love to visit that store as the stock looked amazing and the owners so nice. The project to expand next door sounds very exciting in the future.
I don’t know that I could call myself a “regular” customer of LMFA, but I do have quite a few of their colorways in my stash! Their colors are gorgeous and their dye-to-order business model is amazing. I love that it’s possible to get exactly what I want, when I want it. ❤
OMGosh! Ordered mine before I even finished watching the video. I also made a purchase from Ruby and Roses. I’m gonna go broke if this trend continues. 😂 This is such an exciting adventure you’re taking us on.😊
So awesome! I used their yarn for Stephen West’s Mystery Knit Along Socks this summer!Their yarn was fantastic to use! So nice to meet these gentlemen!!!!! ❤
I love this episode so much! Thank you so much for going through the process... I've always wondered how speckles are created. Can't wait to knit up a pair! (I was skeptical, but the colorway is beautiful! ❤) 24 hr edit: I pre ordered the yarn AND bought a last minute spot to Knitting at the Estate. 😬
I love the Leading Men bases, and their special monthly colorway surprises! I’ve worked with their specially dyed sock blanks, and have several friends hoping to grab one when they become available. I was fortunate enough to meet Steve at an Ohio festival, and visiting their new store is on my bucket list! Thanks so much for sharing this tour. I see you’ve been to my home state, Kentucky, and am sad I missed meeting you.
I literally just got an order in the mail from them this week! I’ve been to one fiber fest that they were at and I wish I lived close enough to go there.
#QUESTION Not really a question, but a suggestion - Please come to Cannon Beach in Oregon and visit my LYS, Coastal Yarns! The owner is a good friend of mine, and a Texan! The scenery is breathtaking and the yarn is delicious. LMK if you need contact info. LOVE your videos, especially the shop tours!!!
Thanks for sharing! I'm in Rockford but used to live in Decatur. I visit Clinton every September for the Apple and Pork Festival. Going to add this shop for my next trip down there. Will try to check out Freeport soon.
So fun! I want to know what the colorway she didn’t mention was- I want to know what the least favorite one to dye is 😂 can’t wait to see the knitty natty yarn!
#Question- I feel like pattern designers are being more economical with the amount of yarn they recommend using for their designs, perhaps due to concerns about price and waste. I used to buy the yarn and have a lot left over, but in the past couple years, I use almost all of what I buy. In fact, I have to be careful not run out because I didn’t follow the pattern correctly and added extra rows to a blanket, for example. Is this a thing? 🤨 By the way, I love the yarn. I looked at it and thought, “birthday cake ramen.” ❤
Ooh interesting! I can't say I have noticed this, though I've recently started to buy extra since I usually like to lengthen things and make big swatches. Birthday cake ramen is a great name!! haha
I've met these gentlemen at various shows and they are so fantastic!! I'm so glad you featured them!!

Just placed my order! I was tempted immediately, but completely sold after hearing about the toaster and Kentergy minis!!!! Love this so much!
Right?! I can't remember whose idea that was now, but it wasn't mine. Such a fun addition!
This was a great video to watch! I just love your family colourway and to see it actually dyed up in the pot was so exciting. Would love to visit that store as the stock looked amazing and the owners so nice. The project to expand next door sounds very exciting in the future.

Your Knitty Natty colourway is gorgeous. It would be nice if they carried it all the time.
There are whisperings that they might! And on other bases too!

I made my mini mock neck tank with the Diva base and it’s amazing 😍😍
Yay I’ll get to support you AND a local yarn dyer!
Thank you!!

Aww fun! I'll add that one to my list!

Hooray! I'm glad you like it!
Great video! I have a few skeins of Leading Men Fiber Arts and have such a hard time choosing when I order because all the options are so pretty!
What? You were in Clinton, IL. I live about 30 minutes from there. There is a great yarn shop in Freeport IL too called Wall of Yarn.
Thanks for sharing! I'm in Rockford but used to live in Decatur. I visit Clinton every September for the Apple and Pork Festival. Going to add this shop for my next trip down there. Will try to check out Freeport soon.
Ordered can’t wait to cast it on!
It turned out so beautiful, you should consider picking dye for another set based on your travel adventures :). Placed my order!
That could be so fun!
I love your colorway! And I'm not really a pastels person. And, wow, their website is a very very dangerous place. :)
So fun! I want to know what the colorway she didn’t mention was- I want to know what the least favorite one to dye is 😂 can’t wait to see the knitty natty yarn!
Me too! She didn't even say! lol
KENTERGY 😂
If Natalie was a hank of yarn….😄
I'm glad you accept me as not just pink too 😅

Birthday cake ramen is a great name!! haha
Question: if you process the yarn with dye and after rinsing and drying, can you add more dye to it?
That's a good question!
