Yo, daddio! Thank you for the awesome request! We got a real kick out of it and the impressive flips haha That’s a great bit of history- I’m sadly uneducated on most of the history behind a lot of this era of music. We can’t wait to get back to more of it!
The summer of love was in 1967...the legendary Monterey music festival put together by the Mamas& the Papa's and friends introduced some new groups to the public... Janis Joplin Jimmy Hendricks the Jefferson airplane the Who and an assortment of other hippy style groups... Morphing music once again...Erick Burden and the animal's did a hit song about the festival titled ( Monterey )...the Swinging Medallions was formed by a group of college buddies 8or9 members. from North Carolina they had a another big hit called(hey baby) charted #17or so...they had two sax players along with the rest of other band and I think they all sang....one of the main originators recently passed away at the age of 78 three or four originals and the son of the member that passed along with some young help still carry on at shows and festivals all around the North Carolina area they are much loved and cherished in that beautiful part of the usa...thank you Rough Boys for playing that short little video clip
Wow! That’s a lot of big names there 😮 It would be so fun to get into some of those bands as well! We’re definitely gonna have to check out “hey baby”! Stay tuned 😊
Hey guys there's another song that came out a little after this one with a similar organ riff in it ...was a pretty big hit was on the jukeboxes it was called ( 96 tears ) by question mark and the Mysterions ...that one might sound a little more familiar to you young fellas ...thanks Rough Boys keep going down those music rabbit holes...
That name doesn’t ring a bell but I wonder if the song will. Looks like we’ll have to take another journey into the 60s! Thanks for the requests and for tuning in! We’ll keep you posted on the reactions 😎
Hippies, early 70's. I think that's when the rock started.
