That is the smartest idea I've seen so far. I've been watching videos to come up with an idea and I'm set on yours. I've been looking to buy but haven't had any luck at finding one. I don't think make one for my mower anymore. But this will work just fine. Thank you and keep up the great vids
Nice easy mod, will try it on my Zero Turn here in OZ. One thing, cutting and grinding stuff hand held is bloody dicey. G clamp it to something , I had to get a finger tip sewn back on once. Cheers from Australia.
Great idea.. I’ve been looking into making a cover out of plastic or sheet metal for the zero turn. This is proably better than the current cover that cub offers because it doesn’t seal off to well.
Brilliant! I knew that someone gifted with the skills of an engineer crossed with a redneck would solve the issue of having to pay $90 for a Toro zero turn mulch plug. Thank you!
Good idea. However, 28 bucks for the cover, rubber bungee and anchors. The ones you buy never seem to fit perfect though. Guess it's just an aftermarket fit as best as it can. I have to hand it to you though, you have a lot of ingenuity.
Awesome! I was thinking about doing the same thing this summer with some mulching blades from maxpower. I have an old i1042 cub cadet and finding stuff for it is hard.
You can buy a leaf block for like 30 bucks come on dude I had a snapper ride on it was only a 28 inch blade I would mow all the leaves up and then I would put the bagging attachment on and I clean up the whole lawn. Anybody using a leaf blower are suckers

Nice idea I’ve been thinking of the easiest way to make one
That's thinking right there people!
That’s really smart using an old barrel. We throw tons of them away at my job. I’ll be asking for one tomorrow
Thanks!
This guy is a true genius! 👍
Awesome! I really need to try this. I'm in need of a mulching cover and I don't think one is available for my mower. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!

I have two riding mowers, this will be done to one very soon

Good idea! I've been thinking about doing something similar myself. Maybe cut up an old car tire.
And just like that I have a way to do mine👍👍👍👍
My mulch door and blades stay on year round.
I’m heading out now to see if my barrel (exactly like yours) fits my JD 60” deck. Well it’s gonna fit lol.

Do you need some type of baffling underneath the deck to help direct the grass to be chopped up better? Would mulching blades also help? Thanks
I'm guessing mulching blades would make a huge difference. Not sure on the baffling.

Cool. Let me know how you make out!
@@HilltownCT def. I have some old Rubbermaid trashcans I use for my access wood from projects that I'm planning on using.
nice this is the one I will do to my Cub cadet
Very smart
…or cheap 😎
Why not just get the bagger attachment ( 2 bags) and clean up the leaves. I do that and get a nice clean yard.
If mine came with a bagger, I would probably go that route depending on how often it needed to be dumped.
Smart thing to do is mulch them first and then put that bag attachment on it and then mow it again
Change those blades

Cub leaf blocks are crap. Just read the problems people are having. This is stronger than the factory one.
