What a great video. All of the history. Everything spot on. Nothing misquoted. Well paced. Amazing information. Have my manual GTS 4.0 coming in August. Traded in my 996 turbo. Had been set on getting a 992 Carrera T but it just felt too polished and too big when I sat in it for an hour at the dealer. When I sat in their floor model GTS, all felt right in the world.
What’s the wait time your dealer told you? I’ve been waiting for 6 months already with no ETA at the moment. Was told 12-18 months when I put the deposit down
@@911virgin8 Nice video, Henry! I like your style and your honesty - not the stereotypical used car salesman. If I still lived in the UK I'd be a customer. Best wishes.
My understanding is the GTS switched from the 4 cylinder 2.5 to the 6 cylinder 4.0 because they could not give the 2.5 GTS away. At least in the States where samples could be purchased for up to $15K off list.
Hi Henry, love your video's, had a great day as ever at Boxengasse, sorry to have missed you, would liked to have met you, I have fond memories of your 911 Virgin adverts in 911 & Porsche World years ago.
Back in the day when we were all young and innocent..... It was a great Sunday made all more enjoyable by the fact I wasn't really turning up with any sense of expectation.
Nice video!! Although in 2016 Porsche came out with the 991.2, the 992 debut was only in 2019. But still the 718 is part of the model name and the factory designation is 982.. Germans!!
@@MrRandomTwat I don't know where you leave, but used cars are going for way more than new cars. And I don't know if you are aware, but there are no more new GT4s. They stopped production for the GT4RS.
Well done for spotting the deliberate typo in the description to see who was paying attention..... All corrected now and the culprit is on tea duty all next week 🙂
Not at all, I went for the GTS after driving a gt4, the suspension is horrendous on the roads where I live, the GTS soaks them up with ease, in reality it's a much quicker car anywhere but track or a very smooth set of roads, in Cumbria UK you'll bin the gt4 trying to keep up with the GTS 🤷
@@James_Sovereign I also went with the GTS instead of the GT4 as a daily. As a second or third weekend car I would get the GT4 but for everyday use the suspensions is very stiff, a lot of the options aren't available (ACC, front parking sensor ...)
My thoughts on ordering one over a gt4. I want the comforts of ventilated and heated seats, not as loud (no giant wing) on the exterior, and no games to play with the dealer to get an allocation. My thinking man take on it
They're only over priced if no one buys them. There is an interesting point though and possibly one for a future video surrounding people advertising cars for sale privately along the lines of, "Thinking of selling my car, DM me if you're interested" then very little by way of photos, no price or very expensive, no guarantee, no effort put in expecting it on a plate.
Just ordered a GTS 4.0. Have 2 years of these videos to watch during my wait time
Good luck 👍
you will get I very very nice car I use it for two years now my car model is 2021
How do you like it.. I got 24 coming in June..
Did you ever get it? My delivery date is in August and I’m dying
@@Zuffenhouse boat should be at the port in Rhode Island tomorrow.. so probably will take delivery in 2 weeks. I'm excited.

Great video. Just ordered a Boxster GTS 4.0 so enjoyed the video
What color
GT Silver

Same here, 12 to 18 months but worth the wait and said the timing may reduce as supply chain pressures ease
good timing, though. might be the last batch by the time you get it.
Cayman boot is surprisingly roomy. I could easily get my race bike in the back, wheels off & tucked in the front & job done 👍
I just got my allocation and my order is placed for later this year delivery. Guards red manual Cayman. Can’t wait
Enjoy :-)
Those insects are quite hypnotic.
Insects and willow seed fluff. The whole world was against us....

The 4.0 version is certainly very desirable and at the time if you'd just bought a 2.5 version you might have been a little unhappy....

I think I probably do. You can see why I call it the Sports knob 🙂

Beautiful car Henry - From now on my "frunk" is known as a fruit, or is that "froot"? 😆

No, it's the Porsche who couldn't get the GT4.
There are more GT4’s available both new and used though, so you don’t make sense

I like the gts a lot but not in that colour
It’s horrible doesn’t suit the shape of the cayman or boxster at all
It's quite a classic Porsche colour based on Viper green of the 2.7 RS era

It looks good on a classic 911 , i just can’t handle it on the cayman .
Just my taste I’m ow a lot of people like it 👍🏻

Completely agree I tired the 718 Spyder and the Boxster GTS 4.0 was far better road car
