The answer to the puzzle is as follows: Qc3+,sacrificing the queen if Qxc3 then Nb6 is a beautiful checkmate and if the King moves to d7 then we can win the queen and white can easily win this from here. And nice video btw.

So glad I found this video. I’ve watched other videos about checkmating with just the queen and king and somehow my brain could not get it straight and I would stalemate half the time. I can checkmate with just the queen and king every single time now thanks to this video. Excellent content.

    Solution to the puzzle:-
Move 1: White plays Queen to C3 check (Qc3+)
    if queen captures queen then
Knight to B6 and it will be a beautiful smothered checkmate (Nb6#)
If black plays blocking the check with his bishop (Bc5), Knight (Nc6)or move his king to d7 then
We can simply gobble up the queen (Qxd2) and win the game easily.

    1. We will sacrifise our Queen by playing Queen to c2 check forking the Queen

Hi, I'm 1.5 months into my chess journey and also just started a UA-cam channel. My recent upload displayed a very funny and I must admit embarrassing attempt at trying to checkmate my opponent with a queen and kind end game. You pointing out to, "follow every move the king makes and make sure I stay a knight's distance," was nothing short of brilliant for a beginner like me to understand. I practiced and applied what you said on the lichess checkmate practice tool and it worked like a charm! Thank you from Malaysia. I highly recommend the Lichess checkmate practice tool to anyone that wants to practice their mating pattern.

Thank you so much for this video. I had so many infuriating stalemates and videos that attempted to explain it went very fast and didn’t actually describe the strategy but instead just showed it, and way too quickly. When you said keep the Queen a knights jump away and corner the king, it clicked for me. Such a simple idea, that for some reason a bunch of other chess channels struggled to put so simply.

The solution to the puzzle: 1. Qc3+ (dubious, right?) then Qxc3 then Nb6# is mate.
Sacrificing the queen would deviate the black queen from B file. But if Kd7 (avoid checkmate) then Qxc2 and we have a material advantage so we should be able to win it.

Solution of the puzzle : Qc3+ sacrificing the queen ! If black tries to take the queen then , he is gone as Nb6 is checkmate and if black plays any other move like blocking with knight or king d7 then we will simply grab the queen & it's a completely winning position for white !

    Happy teacher's day Chess Talk.
You are a very good chess teacher.
I can win such endgames now, with avoiding the stalemates.
    Solution to the puzzle:-
Move 1: White plays Queen to C3 check (Qc3+)
    Black has 2 options:
    1. Queen captures queen (Qxc3)
2.Blocking the check with Knight (Nc6) or Bishop (Bc5) or moving their King (Kd7)
    If black plays 1 then,
Move 2: Knight to B6 and it will be a beautiful smothered checkmate (Nb6#)
    If black plays 2 then,
Move 2: We can simply gobble up the queen (Qxd2) and win the game easily.
    Like if you agree.

Wow absolutely fantastic video. Chess talk is my favourite channel on UA-cam. Here's the answer of the puzzle:- Queen to c3 check. If queen takes our queen then knight to b6 is checkmate. And if king moves to d7 then we can simply gobble up the queen and we should easily win in from here . Hope this is correct

  • @p_square
    @p_square 3 роки тому +5

    Answer to the puzzle:
    Qc3+, we sacrifice the queen
If Qxc3 then black will be shocked to see our next move, which is
    Nb6# is a beautiful checkmate
There is another move which can be played and that is Kd7 and then we take his queen which is a matchmaking advantage and there is also a possibility that most of our opponents might resign from here.
If he plays anything other than this then he's gone
And a very Happy Teacher's Day to you, Thanks for this amazing content which you provided us
