    These are nice short to the point videos for practical mineral identification.

      Thanks, I might actually redo all of these in the future to be even more efficient. Initially I put these out real quick b/c of the pandemic.

    Is it difficult to find those hematite stones in nature?

    hi i do some experiment by burning some very hard probably quartz/quartzite with different banded color almost looks like agate(it found near agate /jasper deposit) and throw them into water while hot turn out it was red hematite mixed with some magnetite do you think my rock have gold content in there?

    Does magnatite scratch red, I have what I thought was hematite but it's strongly magnetic, yet the scratch test is red & it won't score glass, I would be grateful for your help

      Magnetite scratches grey. The only other magnetic mineral I'm familiar with is illmenite and I think that streaks grey as well. So I'm not sure what you have. Maybe it's possible you have hematite and magnetite on the same rock?

    Are there examples of magnetite and hematite connected but separate?
    Meaning this half is magnetic and at this line, it is hematite and not magnetic.

    The red hematite ore is very similar with red cuprite ore, can you tell me how to identify while on the field?

    • @ProfessorTravis
      @ProfessorTravis  Рік тому +1

      Cuprite is a copper oxide whole hematite is an iron oxide. While they both can look rusty-red, I'd be looking for other colors. A lot of cuprite is probably going to have a lot of green around it due to oxidation of the copper. That's what I'd look for.
