- Matt Sr. fires up a Whelen ION Trio in Red-Blue-White for this video. With our darkening filter in place he runs threw all patterns. First Isolating each color then utilizing it's trio of colors. Enjoy.

How do the trios compare to the feniex quad surface mount
So I would say it is just a matter of opinion. We do alot of installs using the Feniex Quad which in our opinion is of the highest quality & performance as far as brightness & affective. We also do alot of Whelen builds as many departments in our local are dedicated Whelen customers. It's very hard to make a true comparison between the two. We would honestly say that the two perform equally. Seriously it is a matter of opinion and we believe the quality & performance is very similar. Some may disagree, but if you watch some of our Feniex build videos you will see that they are some of the brightest emergency vehicles in service today. We would without a doubt recommend both the Feniex Quad Surface Mount & any of the Whelen Surface Mount Lights.
Does this lighthead has the white override feature?
Meaning a seperate white wire for it?
@@Chronicz777 Yes, all three colors are triggered independantly. Each color has a color coordinated +12vdc trigger wire. It can be programmed to where the Red & Blue flash whichever pattern you choose via the white/violet pattern wire then programmed to display steady white when the white trigger wire is activated. As most professional equipment, white holds priority over the other colors so as to provide a white overide even if the Red & Blue are in operation. @@412psekustomzllc7 I saw another ION trio where there is a yellow wire that if touched to the red momentarily it powers the red, white, and blue (just by the red single wire) depending on what colors you want to activate. Is that different than this lighthead? Or is there a way to do it with this lighthead too?
@@Chronicz777 No this specific Ion consists of a six(6) wire configuration. The Red, Blue & White wires control their respective colors. Each of which can be programmed and utilizes seprate. The other three wires are ground, sync & pattern selection. It doesn't even have the dim feature available.
