yup, bought it for that reason too. Ran into the store for 10 min, came back and my RAM mount was nowhere to be seen. and the plus side of this is you're not distracted by a phone. i saw a video of motorcyclist who looked down to change a song, smacked a curb and broke his ribs
Hai. I found an issue using map on my watch while riding. The point is not center as I ride. Are you have the same issue? It bother me keep scrolling my watch to center thank you

When i open map on watch even the location is on watch it shows searching location but when i allow location on my phone the map will open but in phone and watch at same time but when i off location on phone the map will not work on watch

Yes if you scroll down and click on preview it will show entire map with blue line

It might be a weak reception of the GPS signal.
How to save car parking location using watch?
for me the display is not always on when the map is used on the watch.. I need to wake the watch to view the map.. is that how its supposed to work?
You can enable Always in Display in the watch setting

I think so, but only the LTE version will give you navigation without the phone.
It does, but it needs to be connected to the internet to use the GPS feature.
So the version without LTE ,GPS don't work without a phone nearby.

I find it alot laggy and unuseful. Especially if the phone is locked , and won't update the location by itself
Why? S Galaxy Watch 4 navigation does not mirroring with the phone, it has stand alone navigation
@@Mfbzai standalone navigation doesn't work. It opens Google maps on the phone right when you start navigation. Indeed this watch has a built in gps and WiFi but it's useless when it comes to navigate

change it in your phone app by selecting your preference
On my watch it only works if my phone is also showing the navigation. so i first need to unlock my phone to get the navigation on my watch, and the watch is basically mirroring the phone. can it not do it without using google maps on the phone? (still using LTE from the phone). In this setup you are using battery on both devices at the same time, instead of saving battery of your phone by using the watch. seems silly and just useless really.
Yes I agree. It only mirrors what your phone is already showing. The audio directions don't even come from the watch too. Samsung has yet to improve this. Thanks for sharing though!

After opening the google maps. In my samsung galaxy watch. The screen is turning off . Every after 2 second. This is really very very disappointment.
Must be a battery saving feature you have activated? Otherwise, it shouldn't be doing that. Best to have your watch checked.
this is probably due to settings. pull down (drag finger from top edge down) and it will show a bunch of buttons. click on the one that looks like a watch, that will enable Always On. you will need to disable this when you get to your destination because it will drain your battery in 6 hours
What's the battery life when using maps? How long can you navigate before draining the battery? 30 mins, 1 hour? 2 hours?
I drove almost 2 hours to my location and the battery was fine, drove back home and it was still on. I would estimate 4-6 hours.
even with Always On Display it will last 6-7 hours. even with it on for 3 hours, my battery is at 60%

Die Galaxy Watch 4 LTE ist absoluter Schrott. Meine Uhr überhitze immer sobald ich Maps aktiviert hatte. Nachdem ich die Uhr zweimal bei Saturn (und damit bei Samsung) hatte, kam sie zurück und fordert nun plötzlich eine Verbindung zum Mobile Phone. Damit ist die LTE-Funktion ad absurdum geführt (die benötigt man nämlich beim Sport, um nicht noch ein Handy mit herumzutragen). Die Uhr geht jetzt an Samsung per Wandlung zurück. Die Verarschen die Kunden offensichtlich. Gleichzeitig ist meine Uhr wieder nach ein paar Minuten überhitzt und kann dann nicht mehr benutzt werden. Juristisch hat Samsung keine Chance, wenn man Wandlung macht, weil eine wichtige Funktion der LTE-Uhr nicht mehr gegeben ist.
Zusammenfassung: never ever Samsung again!!!

The old version google map on wear os is better, google do the bad jobs on wear os plate form, every update make it even worse. I just want to say google sucks, i even want to down grade instead of upgrade.
