There's something to be said for watching someone do a thing. I'm working from books at the moment and I have no issues with them, they are clear and concise, but watching it being done adds a whole new dimension. This is where You Tube and folks like yourself really shine. I'm feeling inspired now, time to get the pens out I think!
I’m glad to have been able to provide a fresh perspective on things. I’m convinced that UA-cam is one of the best resources in the world. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment, I appreciate both. What books are you using?
@@CelticTutorials I must have bought every book Aidan Meehan ever wrote off e-bay, used. I have others from: George Bain, Sheila Sturrock, Andy Sloss, Cari Buziak, Jo Edkins and Michael Carroll. It's the Carroll book I have started with, I found the Bain book a bit dated, the rest seem to use fairly similar methods except the Sloss and Edkins books, which seems to be using different systems. This is typical of me when I start a new thing, I end up getting all the Books I can find, LoL. I'm using polka dot paper I downloaded from Cari Buziak's site, it has smaller grey dots in between the main black dots, which are handy for penciling in the mid lines. The black dots determine the space size between the strands, sometimes I enlarge them at the beginning if I want thinner strands and larger negative space.
I’m going through your list of authors one by one and wow, Aidan has published a ton of incredible looking books. I think I’m going to follow in your footsteps and buy a couple off eBay. I’m going to look up the rest too besides Bain, who’s work I already own. Thanks for the list!
