Hi everyone! I have found a great passion for drawing Celtic knots. Designing and drawing them is relaxing and meditative. I created this channel to share with you these ancient techniques. I hope you learn something and enjoy making knots of your own!
ASMR Drawing Celtic Knots | Pencil, Marker, Eraser & Paper Sounds (No Talking)
This is a real-time video of me drawing 17 Celtic knots.
The sounds of the scratching pencil, rubbing eraser, and ink marker on the paper are quite relaxing to listen to, making this video great for ASMR use.
There is no talking or narration in this video.

Celtic Knot Drawing Time Lapse | 2 Hours in 7 Minutes (17 Knots)
Переглядів 1,2 тис.Рік тому
Hi everyone, it's been awhile since I've had the time to draw some knots and make some videos. To get back into the swing of things, I decided to make 17 Celtic knot drawings using my speed method. I use this method to discover new knot designs and patterns. With just a pencil and chisel-tip marker, I'm able to quickly complete knots and decide if I like the design. Designs that I love will eve...

Celtic Knot Drawing: Circular Windmill Tutorial
Переглядів 18 тис.3 роки тому
Although I'm not the happiest with how these lines turned out, I do really enjoy this Celtic knot design. It is very similar to the basic 4x4 windmill knot, but the break lines are extended by one unit. Which orientation do you like better? Square or diamond? Celtic Knot Tutorial: Windmill with Chains [Start to Finish Drawing]
Переглядів 11 тис.3 роки тому
I am really happy with the way this knot turned out. For a small 4x4 knot, it has a lot of complexity and interesting design. I think the pointed corners work really well in contrast to the rounded inner loops that look like chains. Celtic X Knot with Chains: Start To Finish
Переглядів 32 тис.3 роки тому
This knot is one of my most favorite to date. I really like the 4 circular rings worked into the design. They remind me of chain links in mail armor. How to Draw the "X" Knot [4x4 Celtic Knot #6]
Переглядів 4,8 тис.4 роки тому
In this tutorial video, I show you how to draw the "X" Celtic knot. I call it that because the finished design looks like the letter "X". The first step to drawing this knot is to setup the 4x4 grid. I show this process in fast-forward at the beginning of this video, but if you would like a detailed, real-time tutorial, please see my video "Setting up the 4x4 Grid". You can find this video on m...
How to Draw the Cloud Knot [4x4 Celtic Knot #5]
Переглядів 3,7 тис.4 роки тому
In this video I show you how to draw the "Cloud" Celtic knot. I call this the cloud knot because the circular, waviness of the perimeter reminds me of clouds from oriental paintings. Now that I have posted several 4x4 knot tutorials, I thought it would be a good time to step up the difficulty. This is an intermediate-level knot due to the amount and placement of the break lines. In total, there...
How to Draw the Windmill Knot [4x4 Celtic Knot #4]
Переглядів 2,2 тис.4 роки тому
In this video, I show you how to draw the "Windmill" Celtic knot. This one is one of my favorites. Despite only having 4 break lines, this is an intermediate-level knot because the break lines are placed close to the outer perimeter. To make this design look best, you have to extend your lines a little bit out from the 4x4 box. Just setup the 4x4 grid as usual and put a one-segment-long break l...
Drawing 6 Beginner Celtic Knots [1hr Timelapse]
Переглядів 8 тис.4 роки тому
In this video I draw 6 unique 3x3 Celtic knots. It took me about an hour to draw, outline and color all 6 knots. You can notice the sun setting and then me having to switch to overhead lighting. In the future, I will try to use one continuous light source. I think it's so cool how all 6 of these knots start off exactly the same. The only thing that differentiates their design is where the break...
How to Draw the Hollow Knot w/Pointed Corners [4x4 Celtic Knot #3]
Переглядів 11 тис.4 роки тому
In this video I show you how to draw the "hollow" Celtic knot. This is another basic knot that's good for beginners. It uses the 4x4 grid method. I call it the hollow knot because of the square-shaped empty space at the center of the completed knot. Like episode 03 in the 4x4 knot series, this knot also uses 4 break lines. However, in this design, the break lines are all connected to form a squ...
How to Draw the Clover Knot [4x4 Celtic Knot #2]
Переглядів 5 тис.4 роки тому
In this video I show you how to draw the "Clover" Celtic knot. Based on the 4x4 grid, this knot is a lot of fun to construct. This is a very basic Celtic knot that is good for beginners and looks awesome! I call this the clover knot because the 4 corners look like three-leaf clovers. This knot is the first one on my channel that uses break lines. Break lines are so important when drawing Celtic...
How to Draw Basic 4x4 Knot [4x4 Celtic Knot #1]
Переглядів 1,7 тис.4 роки тому
In this video I show you how to draw the easiest 4x4 Celtic knot. This process is very easy. There are no break lines involved in this design. All you have to do is setup the 4x4 grid and connect the dots. Try it for yourself! Even though this is the easiest 4x4 knot to construct, it still looks really cool. At the end, I highlight each section of the knot with a unique color. It's interesting ...
How to Setup the Grid [4x4 Celtic Knot #0]
Переглядів 2,4 тис.4 роки тому
In this short video, I show you how to setup the grid lines for drawing a 4x4 Celtic knot. I wanted to make my first "How to Draw" series on the 4x4 knot because they are so cool and there aren't many resources on UA-cam for drawing them. Setting up this grid is the first step to drawing a 4x4 knot so it is important that you do it correctly. Your grid will guide you in the knot drawing process...

i was going to say the same thing. way to fast but then i saw your reply with a link to a tutorial! Thanks!!!!
Glad you saw it!
Gracias con tus vídeos aprendo muchísimo
De nada
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
OMG can you go over and join up the ink lines where you've missed connections, maybe while using the fine pen? My OCD can't take it.
I always try to do that but sometimes I miss some!
Okay, lovely. Now how to make the knot only a single strand?
With this pattern of break lines, I don’t think it’s possible. I do enjoy trying to find designs that are only a single strand though!
Perfect tutorial! Esp for someone taught this as a kid and unable to recreate what I remember making easily at one time! Even my American husband who knows nothing about illuminated manuscripts loved this tutorial. As I said: perfect tutorial!
Thank you so much! Glad you were able to follow along ♥️
It's cool
hola yo soy el primero que habla en Spanish XD
Correction on second
I did every one over the course of one day. This was a great way to practice. thank you for sharing!
Thanks for following along! I love this method for experimenting. It’s fast and good practice with the chisel marker
this was so helpful and fun to do thank you!
Thank you!
Wow amazing
Thanks!
Thank You! I've had great success first time with this Tutorial 😊 ( l actually liked the scratchy Pen!😉)
Thank you! I guess the sounds are a love or hate thing. I like them too 🤷
I wish these were bigger so I could see them better. So excellent
Thanks Hilary
🌹🌹🌹🌹
Thank you
This is definitely not a supporter of the Chaos Theory. Thank You.
You’re welcome!
Why the weird sound effects? The drawing is great but the noise put me off. Had to turn it down. It's a bit childish.
What do you mean by childish? The sounds are pencil on paper and background birds. No sound effects added.
@@CelticTutorials I turned sound right off too. Was very grating, distracting, put my teeth on edge. I thought it was meant to be ASMR but poorly executed. But still I watched it all. Maybe if you just turned the volume down in your management settings then it would be better. Sound is not needed in my opinion. But thanks for the lesson.
Thanks for the feedback, I’ll try something different in the next video
Yes, i liked it too ☺️
Thank you!
I like the third one. They're all cool.
Thank you!
👏🏻🤩💜
Thank you!
❤❤❤Good Job
Thank you!
I didn't like the sound effects at first but I liked your pencil work and as I reached the end of the video I was actually smiling at the sounds. Very good work by the way:0)
Thank you so much! I use a contact microphone taped to the paper

I crave these.
Thanks for sharing with us
You’re welcome, thanks for your comment!
Wow this is so amazing ❤️
Thank you!!
Nice, fun to watch
Thank you!
I love these. They're fun to do. I've been making entire pages of them and coloring them with colored pencils, some with a 3D effect and others with solid color. I've also used markers. Too bad UA-cam doesn't allow photos or I'd show you a couple.
That's awesome! I bet our sketch books look pretty similar, minus the colored pencils. I usually stick with colored markers. If you'd like to email me some of your photos, I'd love to have a look! CelticTutorials@gmail.com
@@CelticTutorials I will do that! I'll choose my best ones LOL
Wow that’s really cool nice art
Thank you!
Awesome! I love your channel! Thank you!
Thanks Robert! Glad you’re enjoying the videos
Thank you! Beautiful!!
Lovely work! Thanks for sharing :D
Thank you!
Go Bruins!
I see you noticed my hat! Go Bs!
This was great. I did try this knot on another channel, but their instructions were so complicated I gave up- you are such a great teacher, I managed my knot with no problems. Thanks
Aw thanks Wendy! I’m glad you had success with this tutorial! Sometime you just need a teacher who speaks your language 😀
Try sharpening your pencil so we don’t have to listen to the rather unpleasant sound of wood on paper
I actually enjoy the sound 🤷♂️
Hey! You have an interesting channel. You make awesome videos. Keep making more videos! You are doing well!!!
Thank you!
