Storm is the main reason I got into the Xmen comic books, and I'm loving how Xmen '97 is doing a deeper dive into her character (and the other Xmen characters). The LifeDeath story arc is a great way to show and explore her humanity when she's not living life as a Goddess-like mutant. And I appreciate how the telling of this story gives the audience a little time to exhale and after the high-energy story revolving around Jubilee. I agree the fast-paced telling in each episode has worked, even if it's an adjustment for those of us who read these sagas in the graphic novels. But having Forge drop the "L" word so soon into that storyline was a stretch. Other than that, I very much enjoy the storytelling throughout all four episodes. I have to tell myself that I can't expect the pacing and deep exploration that the comic books gave me, but adapting those classic storylines into the short, concise episodes is done with craft and love, and it shows.
Afterthought: I think I had heard that episode 4 was 26 minutes, compared to a previous episode being 33 minutes? I think the romantic arc between Storm and Forge could have worked better if their story arc in this episode started on Storm struggling to find the will to live while Forge builds her spirit up and shares his own inner battle when he lost his limbs from war. It could have served as a mini-first act to their story arc, followed then a fade out to the scene with the two of them eating dinner together, after she has started to heal emotionally, and it is more obvious that the two have spent enough time together to have bonded deeply and developed a relationship. The writer (fired I know, but I SO hope they can convince him to come back) knows how to write lean and tell a tightly-packed story without it feeling as such. If he could have given us even just two more minutes of their relationship at the beginning it could have made their romantic arc feel more organic and believable. That said, I love what the writer (Beau?) has done with this animated show. I'm totally hooked.

The owl in the Sky in Life Death was actually present in episode 2 when Storm loses her powers and reaches up to the Glass ceiling and the owl soars above. And we know the Owl to be The Adversary so hes been watching her for a while.

This was a pretty good episode for Jubilee and I loved the videogame references/visuals(never played the old X men beat 'em ups) for a guy who likes platformers and fighting games. I kinda wished Sunspot would do more and a few more X men were added in to help out Jubilee. As for the Storm stuff I think they should've showed scenes of her and Forge just bonding more and make the plot unfold in a later episode, because it's weird to me for him to be proclaiming his love after at least a month had went by. But hey they still have my attention and it's good so far.

So I wonder if Mojo is going to get involved due to the fact that he mentions dazzler

The breakneck pace of this show is a bit unforgiving, but I'd say they condensed Inferno even more. As much as I'd like to see these stories breathe, given the shows quality and low episode count, so far I feel like it's a fair trade off.
Especially given that I am still looking forward to a no powers Storm taking sole leadership. My pacing concern is that this gets breezed past and she has her powers back already when taking lead.
Note that Storm assuming the lead IS NOT a variable for me. This must happen. Scott gave me shades of Schism Cyclops in ep 5. I don't know if he stays or splinter teams, but I need that duel.

Do you know what you're the best review of the show of all the reviews I watch so my compliments to you but I have to disagree about the storm ark they handled it just right between this and a future episode because I don't want to watch storm eat chili and ride on horses the next episode with her is also a partial episode

It's really annoying how rushed the pacing feels, imo. Just because the OG show did it that way doesn't mesn the remake should.

Agreed. I think they're gonna run outta gas soon if they don't seriously slow tf down. Like this episode was literally just on hyperspeed and at the worst time. Especially considering how this show isn't even aimed at kids like TAS was, or working within network TV constraints. So they have literally every reason to take their time more. Or, at all lol

@@StormKoriHQ I wish the season had more episodes to help thing go more gracefully, especially with Storm's depowered arc. If she and Forge end up together by the end of Lifedeath part 2, it's gonna feel too fast.
