Thank you for that very informative comment! The Man From Uncle but more so, David McCallum‘s character Illya were cemented in my brain from the age of 8 and as I went on to live my life every now and then a fuzzy fond memory would pop up, and I couldn’t remember what show it was from and then along came the Internet and the digital age, and UA-cam and Google and I was able to refresh my memories. Anyhow, my son bought me the series of the man from uncle, and I’ve decided I’m going to watch a couple of videos a day until I go through the whole series in memory of David McCallum. I just watched season one episode one and of course that was before David actually became a solid character in the series (he didn’t appear at all)but it was really good. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was just Robert Vaughn as the main character. It was full of action and drama, so I’m looking forward to watching the rest of the four seasons AGAIN!! Episode three is where they introduced McCallum , which put him in a solid footing with Robert Vaughn. Both actors became extremely popular, but, as the show continued David became so loved some considered the fifth Beatle due to his Beatlesque style blond haircut!!

David McCallum was sometimes called "The Fifth Beatle" at the height of the UNCLE
series. He had a very dry sense of humour, and the fact that he still appears on tv five decades after his initial appearance is testment to his enduring talent.

Yet "Remind" puzzle magazine won't mention him in their birthday section (but mentions Lee Majors who's dead). David has just celebrated his 89th birthday and deserves more-he's done more than Majors anyway, including playing a chr.on "NCIS" for 20 yrs., is a musician, and is a writer. Majors was only a has-been actor for his "6 Million Dollar Man" series and little else but politics).

As a young teenage girl Illya was another British dreamboat to adore. Loving David through the years I’d watch him in his older movies, loving THE GREAT ESCAPE for the amazing film it was. With so many talented actors I still watch it when it’s on TV.
The best line in early NCIS was when Kate said,”I wonder what Ducky looked like when he was young.”
When Gibbs replied,” Illya Kuryakin.” she had no idea who that was.

Well, they ones they have are not as good anyway! I miss them too!Besides, they'd rarely invite a man as talented as David who's been on "NCIS" for nearly 28 yrs., much less give him an Emmy or Star on Hollywood. They'd rather give both to actors with barely 1/2 his yrs.of talent, experience, and work just because they fit their liberal agenda.

I just want to suggest looking on Wikipedia about David there’s a lot of information about his talent and all the work that he did over the years, quite extraordinary actually! Two of my favorite movies one in 1967, titled Three Bites of The Apple filmed in Italy and 1969 The Ravine. You can watch The Ravine on UA-cam, the quality isn’t very good but better than nothing! I would buy a copy if I can get one that would play in my region but I can’t find any that will.

The boy from Glasgow , Scotland ,did very well for himself!!! Strangely I don't think he ever played a Scottish character in a movie, he used to visit the small spa village of Bridge Of Allan near Stirling in Scotland, he had family connections in the area, his Grandma lived near Loch Lomond , folk in Scotland who met him and knew him still speak of him , its a long way from Hollywood, Stirling is also my home town, David returned there in the 1970s to do some location filming at Stirling Castle which was doubling for the WW2 prison " Colditz" in the BBC TV series of the same name.
