The thing is, attack aircraft aren’t even meant for air-to-air combat 😭😭 yet here they are, dominating an aerial PVP game. I totally agree about limiting attackers on a team, and think that they could go even further to limit interceptors etc. No one wants to fight an entire team of Tomcats 😂

So how would we feel about the devs implementing role limits for games? Let's say 2 attackers or 2 interceptors max per game. It would at least help the problem and I wouldn't be apposed to it. Having this in game would also make newer players more conscious of plane types and how to play them within their teams and squads.

What makes the Su-25 so insane is the rockets reach out so far and give no warning with a crazy good gun and the GR3 has mid-range rockets with an insane ability. What we don't hear talked about is how the maps force these head-on fights that favor attackers. These factors combined have caused this storm and Starform limiting attackers may or may not do much to change the outcome.
I don't agree with limiting plane type amounts. This will essentially kill match making times because so many players are choosing to fly attackers for meta performance & therefore ruin matchmaking time. Being that just one attacker displayed that one attacker is more than enough seems to tell me that this game needs to remodel its health & damage model. Every plane should have the same health point values & every missile & gun of the same type needs to distribute the same damage numbers regardless of the aircraft. The only thing that should distinguish airplane's superiority is speed, acceleration, air breaks, post-stall, stealth, jamming, power-to-weight ratio, ordinance quantity, chaff and flare quantity, radar gun tracking, & the pilot's skill being the pinnacle focus. We need to steer our developers away from meta based game play & steer them towards skill based game play.
I hope they make the game more realistic, or at least put a realism mode. For example, it shouldn’t take so many bullets or missiles to shoot a plane down. Like in DCS, a small burst of rounds and probably a single missile should destroy a plane unless we’re talking attackers.
The thing is, in DCS it only takes small bursts to down a plane because if you hit a wing or a stabilizer, the aircraft will go out of control and crash as it would in real life. Physics don't work like that on arcade games designed for mobile platforms.
Overwhelmingly impactful weapons, combined with the forgiving playstyle and lower skill needed, makes it too powerful in the game. Literally the only thing you need to do is to fly straight towards other players and kill them :D It can sustain so much damage that it makes it frustrating to play against with many fighters. I think the fighters, however, are the main thing in the game focusing on an air to air combat so without lying, it pretty much ruins all the fun😅 The Suckhoi definitely needs some nerf..
@k9starkineye They need to counter the meta by beefing up planes to kill attackers. Not the kneejerk reaction devs have in games, but at least adding AP (Armor Piercing) to the US Planes would be a start. As it is now, they cannot keep up w/ their Russian counterparts. The JA-37 Viggen is a great example of it's viability because of it's gun and AP. It can shred Attack Planes.

DCS is for realism....this is an Arcade Game. For balance reasons alone, you cannot do what you're suggesting.
