I really don't get why so many people hate Tooru for being the main antagonist, aside from his late appearance in the part. Imo it's a pretty awesome villain for Jojolion, his motives are pretty consistent, he is very careful with his plans and plus his stand is highly OP.
I love how this is similar to Diavolo’s theme because the characters are so similar. Two identities, bosses of an organization, terrifying stands, hidden in plain sight.

Man, I love Araki but he sometimes really needs to have a proof-reader for his long dialogue. This paragraph is awfully paced and all over the place. Mind you, that could be the translation team's fault over it being Araki's fault.

This is actually pretty convencing. Except Johnny's death is the result of him saving George from the rock disease/curse. Since it was pretty evident that he was determined to end his life knowing that shooting George with the spin, will automatically have a repercusion on himself. Which is a plot connection to the principle of equivalent exchange. A life for a life.

You know what's funny about Tooru? In all of JoJo we see references to real life musicians, so basically JoJo's world is very similar to ours minus super powers and magical stuff. So there's Tooru vibin' to some Elvis music on his Ipod and then his ability is called "Wonder of U". I think it's the first character who actually acknowledges that his stand's name is a musical reference. So the "Crazy Train" scene may be also a foreshadowing.
i believe that stands are only araki's way of visually representing phenomena that exist in real life; he has a really good understanding of the idea that "supernatural" things are just misunderstood physics. magic, superpowers, esp, whatever is all real. friendly food for thought to add to your comment

Tooru in my opinion is starting to become one of my favorite main Jofoes. I mean, he has a cool design and extremely powerful stand, he's terrifying, and using the good of someone else's heart for their own gain is down right evil.

You know how so many JoJo villains want their minions to just kill the enemy and be done with it? How many want to hide their identities and do their evil in peace? How many want to set the heroes up for failure, setting up a “calamity?” That is Wonder of U personified. Had it been given to someone like Kira, or Diavalo, nobody would have survived those antagonists. Pursuit of the villain is the very essence of what a JoJo does, especially in the stand era. How is Gappy meant to pursue his own villain when the pursuit is the very cause of deathly setups?
Imagine if the Wonder of U:s voice would be like Samuel Hayden's from doom 2016 and eternal and when he impersonates akefu Satoru his voice would be like A less mechanical version of it. This theme combined with that would give me An eargasm

Imagine this playing in the panels of the Manga when the Misfortune starts repeatedly striking, and after yasuho nearly gets run over Gappy realizes something is wrong, honestly great.
Have to be honest, this theme fits Tooru extremely well. It has that unassuming vibe which the more you get into it. The creepier and more disturbing it gets. I don't get the hate on Tooru though. Sure he appeared later in the part but it didn't diminish him as the main villian and his impact on the part in my opinion. He has a great design, personality and his motivation really fit the part. Plus he was the boss of his organisation to which was cool as well. Then let's not forget Wonder of U, without a doubt that is one of the greatest stands Araki has ever created. Despite seeming passive on the surface like Tooru there is a darkness to both user and stand alike. I mean the sheer act or thought of pursuing Tooru or the head doctor would cause calamity to befall you. If that's not terrifying, then I don't know what is. Plus being a rock human was a nice touch, since he'd been around for decades as we saw in the Joseph and Lucy Steel portion. With that in mind , who knows how many events he's probably caused. Like the death of Rai's parents. Tooru really is a great antagonist and Wonder of U is definitely one of my favourite stands to. Hopefully Tooru will get more love when Jojolion gets animated one day

I dropped JoJolion at around chapter 103, but I recently decided I was gonna finish what I started and began a reread/rewatch of the entire series... Tooru is so much more interesting than people say he is, I remember disliking him aswell... Its changed now that I have the entire series within 3 months of watching and reading. JoJolion mean holy/blessed JoJo, and Wonder of U's ability is to create calamity. Josuke is a JoJolion, a blessing. The story is about breaking a curse, and that is what makes the final fight so amazing for it is JoJolion vs curse, blessing vs curse. Miracle vs calamity, Josuke vs Tooru...
At the start of the song and in many other fan-made Wonder of U themes I always here this tune "De Do Do Do De Da Da Da" which is a rock insect fought in the Wonder of U fight, is this intentional or is it just me hearing it?

honestly, just got to the endless calamity arc, and reading along with this theme is honest to god, unreal, it is perfectly composed! the eeriness and unnerving feeling of the theme suit the character incredibly accurately.

Have to be honest, this theme fits Tooru extremely well. It has that unassuming vibe which the more you get into it. The creepier and more disturbing it gets.
I don't get the hate on Tooru though. Sure he appeared later in the part but it didn't diminish him as the main villian and his impact on the part in my opinion.
He has a great design, personality and his motivation really fit the part. Plus he was the boss of his organisation to which was cool as well. Then let's not forget Wonder of U, without a doubt that is one of the greatest stands Araki has ever created.
Despite seeming passive on the surface like Tooru there is a darkness to both user and stand alike. I mean the sheer act or thought of pursuing Tooru or the head doctor would cause calamity to befall you. If that's not terrifying, then I don't know what is.
Plus being a rock human was a nice touch, since he'd been around for decades as we saw in the Joseph and Lucy Steel portion. With that in mind , who knows how many events he's probably caused. Like the death of Rai's parents. Tooru really is a great antagonist and Wonder of U is definitely one of my favourite stands to. Hopefully Tooru will get more love when Jojolion gets animated one day

I dropped JoJolion at around chapter 103, but I recently decided I was gonna finish what I started and began a reread/rewatch of the entire series... Tooru is so much more interesting than people say he is, I remember disliking him aswell... Its changed now that I have the entire series within 3 months of watching and reading. JoJolion mean holy/blessed JoJo, and Wonder of U's ability is to create calamity. Josuke is a JoJolion, a blessing.
The story is about breaking a curse, and that is what makes the final fight so amazing for it is JoJolion vs curse, blessing vs curse. Miracle vs calamity, Josuke vs Tooru...

honestly, just got to the endless calamity arc, and reading along with this theme is honest to god, unreal, it is perfectly composed! the eeriness and unnerving feeling of the theme suit the character incredibly accurately.
