I kinda love Sanae's attitude in this series so far. It makes sense, since on the outside it looks like she should be the superior shrine maiden, but she has yet to learn the true article of faith in Gensokyo: If you start shit, the red-white will come and beat your ass.
Sanae :"i bring the whole mountain to obliterate you" Reimu :"ok then, i'll bring the whole forest of magic, lake, hakugyokurou, Human village, Bamboo forest, SDM,.... etc.
@@Volcaking._1 Don't forget that one of said freeloaders just so happens to be one of the four oni deva, who used to rule Youkai mountain. Well... Technically, it's not _confirmed_ that the mountain they ruled over was Youkai mountain, but unless the Tengu all moved house to a different mountain after the oni all... _left,_ it was probably the same mountain.
The Scarlet Devil Mansion is probably enough as Vampires are considered to have both good aspects of Tengu and Oni, and Sakuya's time abilities, pretty much the Mountain doesn't have many chances. If we don't count the Moriya Shrine of course.

Yeah, FMW was put a lot closer to a 2000's SRW game, with the usual names and effects, even if they split SRW's Prevail into two skills. I'm really glad FMW 2 added more skills to start with (especially Rumia who had basically nothing by default in 1), and thankfully revised the Personal Skill system. Honestly, the Personal Skill system is probably still one of the most unique aspects of FMW. Sadly, there is posts of them changing the battle dialogue in FMW but eventually the game would brick. Ah, the beautiful Akis, who were given all of the Aim for Top references......although I should probably just say Gunbuster, since there is only one Diebuster reference in FMW.
Any word on Complete Box? I know Clarste abandoned work on the fourth game's standalone version and wasn't even half done with CB when I last saw word from them.
Not since the last update, though I still have no idea where Aspry's source got "two more years" in the FMW1 videos. Sounds possible though. With the sheer amount of new text added in New Game Plus (even if you only count the in-stage dialogue), that would take a while (and it's only been about a year). They probably also still had to work on the two new intermission stages and five 1.0.9 stages. At least most of the first four games are translated Aside from just the translation, there is putting it in the game without it breaking. They said they were going to try to translate more of what they couldn't in original games iirc. Not sure about the attack dialogues, since that bricked games 2-4. I'm still on copium hoping they can't talk about it because they paid to do an official translation but that is just pure cope.
@@seki108 since it is out on switch only in Japanese, hopefully it is that they are doing an official translation... but yeah, since there isn't any word regarding that translation its probably copium
@@seki108 If Sanbondo had actually done that, we would've gotten the Switch version here in the States. FMWCB EN is going to end up in the same horrible category as Star Citizen and Yandere Simulator at this rate...
@@WatcherCCG For an official one, yeah just dreaming at this point since even a Steam release untranslated is looking less likely. Though they've said maybe about Steam on Twitter before (years ago), they obviously chose a different market. Porting it to Steam, even untranslated, would open it up to a much wider audience so I really don't understand their decision. It shouldn't even be that difficult. If the last sentence was instead for the fan translation project, I have no idea why. Even before the FMW 4 patch was halted, the team made it clear on the patch repository page that serious work wouldn't be done until the long awaited NG+ patch (the last major update). No use translating new lines that may not be final, not to mention the early game dialogue changes in CB the JP wiki mentions. CB's New Game+ has only been out for a little more than a year, so it's still a long way off from even being in the 'are the team still working on it?' or 'it's never coming out' categories
What do I have to do to figure out how to get this game and English patch to work? Please, I adored the first game and I'm so desperate. Through trial and error I've gotten the game to run, but Japanese characters simply appear as blank. This probably wouldn't matter much, but any time I go to the Spirit menu (19:14) I get completely locked. There's no text to click on, and it doesn't even let me back out of the menu. Changing computer to a Japanese locale doesn't seem to change anything, and I tried on both Windows 10 and 11. If anyone has any idea, pleeeease help me out.
I think I finally figured it out. While I had changed my display language, I hadn't gone to "Administrative Language Settings" and changed my "Language for non-Unicode programs" to Japanese. I could delete the comment, but I'll keep it here just in case anyone runs into the same issue and needs the answer.
Bringing this up now, by the end of the game there may or may not be a bug that straight up does not allow you to continue, forcing you to reset in the last map. Might become specially annoying if you didn't somehow keep a quick save before hand, because it can be avoided by straight up skipping dialogue. Dunno if it'll happen because when it happened to me it was in quite possibly the shittiest pc I had in my life.
