Playing catch up yet again Barry... brilliant film as always and good to see you and Allen out again - loved it! Hopefully I'll catch up with some more in the morning... keep up the great work buddy!!!
I got worried there with the rainy cold hike a bike in a stream that it was going to be a repeat of last time but you made it! great adventure! never boring with you both 🙂
Haha, it is never a dull day :-) We were not best please that was the only option back over, we did have a nice road pottle planned, that changed rather quickly haha
I’d say the weather was kind to you for February in the lakes. I’d rather have the dry day first. Better to pitch the tent and get your evening sorted out in the dry right? You could say the puncture and burn out was a disaster but it’s all part of the adventure and in days to come a ripping yarn. You got out and that’s all you need to do. The rest is gravy. I did chuckle about your, shall we say, (dis)graceful dismount (some would call it a crash). They’re the best crashes, a wobble, a loss of control and aim at something that’s not made of stone if available. A tumble in the grass and no real harm done. Perfect. Roll on Barry.
Haha, yes it was a very delicate dismount, I am glad you saw it as that rather than a crash. I was fully locked out brakes gaining speed towards a pile of rock, so as you said, I aimed for a nice soft bush
Another great one both. Great to show the realities of bikepacking in the UK. Not all sunny weeks in Pembrokeshire! 😁 Would love to see a kit breakdown video at some point #gearjunkie 👍
Thanks so much! Yes Pembrokeshire was a very rare sunny occasion, most of my trips look like this haha. I keep trying to do little chats about where kit is in the next few films coming up, but do need to do another bg tips chat through what kit i am using now
Great film. At least now you've pushed up Greenup last year and whatever the hell that was you know there is no easy way from that side back to Borrowdale.
Haha, thanks so much Martin! Yes it is official I have now done every single bridleway out of borrow dale, and all are as tough as each other, haha. But I love it there so much, it is sooo incredibly stunning and gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, even if that is whilst pushing the bike up a waterfall in the cold :-)
Wow, that is mountain biking, who built those amazing stone paths, in the middle of nowhere.
Oh yeah! Proper mountain biking!!! The Lakes is an incredible place!

No rain, no rivers !
No rivers, no water, no camp! :-)
nice film BG, you both had to dig deep to get through that one -well done - you're defo due some blue skies for the next adventure :)
Thanks so much! Blue skies appear at some point, haha
Amazing that you are smiling through this, quite a superpower
If i was not smiling i would be crying, best to smile haha
What an epic adventure that was! I now run different tyres 😆
You and your tyre choice :-) at least we match even more now haha
Loved the glamping in the sheep fold, and epic effort with the hike-a-bike up a waterfall!
Haha, it was full scale clamping, fairy lights, I even carried my chair haha

That makes a change, it's usually you asking if I am alright after I have crashed. Great film, epic adventures from the two of you.
Budddddy!!!! Yes what a dramatic flop stop haha. Of course it was wet and wild as we are used to :-)
Great film Barry, the first day looked really special. Good work both of you!
Oh yes that sunset that first day on the tops was out of this world!
Urgh, that climb from 9.48-11.25 is just soul destroying. Done it once, and that was enough!
Oh yeah that is hard push up! Not sure i will do it again in a hurry haha
Loved it guys. The terrain & weather both looked challenging but you gave it a good bash. Great stuff👍
Thanks Dug, yes this one was not the walk in the park we set out for, but deep inside we are always looking for adventure
@@barrygodin7538 Good man. I set off tomorrow for a 6 or 7 day ride. Norfolk to North Somerset. There will be tears & lots of swearing😂
@@DugOut.WildCamping oh wow have an incredible journey!!! So amazing camp spots on norfolk and the Suffolk coast :-) have a great time
you still look so happy even after all that rain and wind
Well look where i was! My happy place

@@pritchoutdoors one day one day! That was alot of effort haha

Stake Pass to Langdale on Day 1, then Thirlmere via Blea Tarn to Watendlath (boggy and unrideable in a drought)

Yeah those are the ones Andy!
Thanks!
David! Did you donate to my adventure fund? So sorry I never saw this, ever so kind!!! I can not thank you enough for the support
Bless ya! Made for good entertainment though. 😉
Haha, so glad we are entertaining, was not sure if Allen depressing monolog at the end was too much, haha.
Oh, and I nearly forgot…another great film from BG Produtions
Starring Barry Godin
Co starring anyone barmy enough to join in
It does take a nutter to go on an adventure with me, luckily I keep finding them haha
Bikepacking in the lakes is on the cards, but next adventure I need something flatter after tackling Kent, Felixstowe and Dover. Man that was hilly.
Do you use some type of water proof socks or are you just wet and cold?
Haha, that trip, just very wet and cold haha
is that Mucoff sealant?
Haha, I am not sure, but one it didnt seal, and two it made a right mess haha
@@barrygodin7538 use Stans sealant its a lot better and new of a mess. Not a fan of the jelly type sealants like mucoff
That track between Thirlmere & Burrowdale is a joke!
Been there myself on my gravel bike, Never again
I rode up to Keswick on the way back instead
Haha, at least the gravel bike is easier to carry haha, yes the conditions also did not help us :-)
