Oh man, it was soooo much fun!!! Would love to see you there next year, I'll hopefully pedal faster by then, or get quicker filming ha! See you at the BB200 buddy!! Thanks for watching!
Thanks very much Si! Luckily I'm used to a bog or two, but it was kinda out of character based on the previous terrain 😂😂It really made me chuckle! Thank millions for putting on such a well organised event, I'll be back again for sure. I loved it!! 🎉- Allen
@@AllenBoardman The bog moves over time and there is a path around it to the right. The OS map sends you through the middle of it. The only other option was a fast and rocky/rutted decsent along the other side of the Rigg, but after 100 miles, when you see the finish and switch off, i was worried about accidents. My friend removed his knee cap on there ten years back. It wasn't nice to deal with
@@sijackson9911 oh they do that 😂 I've routed so many trips on os maps and got there to be like.... Erm 😂 I loved it to be honest, it woke me up and kept me alert, the sheep looking at me like "what's he doing" made me laugh out loud, but then I said to the sheep there's nothing to see here, bugger off ☺️☺️
Did same route last weekend with two mates, it was sooo wet but same fun same beautiful track. Went a bit short because I bonked but nevertheless absolutely gorgeous.
I can’t imagine how much harder it would have been in the wet. I lucked out for sure! It’s all about the food intake. Just eat, eat, eat! Thanks for watching :)
I've never done an organised event, but is that usual. For the organisers to bugger off before everyone has finished? What if someone is lying unconscious out on the moor? Surely an organised event has a duty to count to entryists out and back in?
i was one of the last ones to finish and to be honest i wouldnt wait so long for a lazy git like me who cant get out of the tent before 9am ;-) i have received text asking how am i and if i have finished it alright, so they did count the heads
I also got a text checking I wasn't still in a bog, cafe, or pitched up my tent again 😂 the organisers couldn't have done a better job to be honest. I can't wait to go back!!!
Hi Black Dog. We were still in the area rescuing people with problems, or had run out of steam when Allen got back. The venue had closed as it was only booked until six, but we stayed in touch with the stragglers by phone and text until we knew everyone was safe and dry. We had just two support vans that covered over 800 miles that weekend and didn't get home until after eleven on the Sunday. Rest assured that no one buggered off and there are no rotting bodies out in the Bog of Doom. Cheers, Si
@@sijackson9911 Fair enough. It did seem odd that an organised event had no one around at the finish. As I say, I've never taken part in an organised event but those I've seen on UA-cam usually have plenty of volunteers to cover all bases.
@@blackdogwildtrails3123 getting volunteers at the moment is such hard work. We do the event for free, Ginni just charging for the camping and food, and as such we have no money to pay for marshals etc. Hugely in debt to the help and support we got to put this on. We want to keep this event free and avoid all the corporate stuff that comes with sponsors, but with that comes a level of acceptance that it could be a little shonky around the edges. Keeping everyone having fun and yet being safe is our biggest worry.
Great film Allen best one yet, I was waiting for Barry to pop up at some point.👍👍
Cheers mate, appreciate it!! Oh I'm sure you'll see him in one of mine soon!
A Great watch!! We were due to ride the original dates but couldn't make the new dates! We will be there next year though 🤩
Thank you so so much!! You NEED to be there next year, its so much fun. I'll be doing the 150 if they make the route 🤩🤩🤩

deceased event now
@@bivibikebaggins shame isn’t it :(
music completely ruins it for me, prefer to hear the sounds as well as see the sights, just my opinion, great vid otherwise :)
Thanks very much for the criticism, music is the hardest to get "right" on any film, thanks for watching though, it was such a fun trip 😊
