Definitely a design and functional success. I own all three, the Skipper, Skipper Pro and Helmsman.
Great review! Victorinox is in the process of more innovation, it will be cool to see you get your white gloves on them in the future.
Marlin Spike is used to dig into knots to pry them open. Shackle is a kind of clasp with a bolt locked with a butterfly nut. You place the butterfly in the shackle opener, then you can lever it open.
Ah. Thank you. I don't know anything about sailing. :)
It's a cool knife. I've read that the 111mm range came out around 1986 but I never saw them until around 10 years ago. Is there any video or anyone that has one from back then as it's over 30 years ago. I have the Trekker, Alpineer, Sentinel and the Rescue Tool. The corkscrew on the Skipper is a bit silly really. Good video. Thanks for sharing.
I don't have one going that far back.
I'm glad you liked the video. You are very welcome. :)
I think that the design is not ideal but it’s not that big a deal. Philips screwdriver probably not the most used tool on the boat and it’s better than not being there at all. This is just my uneducated opinion.
Not sure. I don't know much about sailing. I did learn what a marlin spike was thanks to this video. :)
as a skipper I can tell you that the phillips screed driver is constantly used on sailboats
There's nothing wrong with the design of this knife. The reviewer is raising points that make no sense.
@@timsummers870As he said, he knows little about sailing...Have a look at NikGyver's video on the uses of the Skipper marlin spike...most useful...😊
You might want to research a product before publishing a review
hi WGR maybe you should do a new gadget category dedicated to cheap clone edc ...eg swiss army copy the bad ones lol..
Actually, I have a video coming up before too long on a Harley-Davidson SAK knock off I'll be taking a look at. If it goes well, I will definitely give it a shot. :)
which one is better? the Trekker army or the Skipper?
I think that probably depends on if you want the spike or not.
