- Well, this was exhausting, but worth every hour! In this video I demonstrate a VATSIM flight from Vienna to Chicago in the Horizon 787-9. We take the time to explore all of the intricacies of operating in the VATSIM environment while conducting a very long NAT Track flight with all of its technical challenges. It was a great time, never perfect, but a wonderful time. This stuff is incredible!

I went over to P3D for the PMDG 777 as I was a real 777 Captain, and flying several aircraft on MSFS was affecting my job performance. On the other hand, flying the 777 on P3D actually helped me at work. No rap on P3D, as I really loved the honesty and performance accuracy of the study level PMDG 777. However, I am trying to build a following, and MSFS is by far the most followed.
I am looking for an aircraft to fly during Cross the Pond Eastbound in late October. The event is sponsored by VATSIM, and it has fully staffed ATC for the entire transatlantic experience. Very cool.
I am a 1958 vintage pilot with over 21,000 flight hours. I currently reside in Connecticut. I am a 1980 US Air Force Academy graduate and a seven-year Air Force instructor pilot. I have flown for a major US Airline since 1987 and I retired in September of 2023. I have been type-rated in the MD-80, B-737, B-757, B-767, B-777, A-300-600 and the MD-11. I am a recently retired (9/6/23) 777 Captain.
I have traveled the world and I have come to the conclusion that there is no place like home. It's been a great ride. I am very new to the MSFS and P3D world and I love it. Please feel welcome to offer any advice that you deem helpful.

Thank you for uploading, Captain! I regretfully missed CTP myself this year, and it was nice to fly along with ya. Cheers!
Thank you very much for taking the time to say hello. It is very motivating to receive feedback, especially positive feedback:)
Great video! I haven’t been able to devote the time for CTP so it was awesome to see what it’s like. Well edited for the most interesting parts and appreciate the perspective of an actual pilot who has flown the crossing for real. Learned a lot.
Thank you very much Chris. I have to admit, that was one very long day! It means a lot that you took the time to comment. Thanks again. Jeff
Hello, Captain Richard! Thank you so much, sir, for another incredible lesson! Another great one from FTFA - Father Time Flight Academy!:) Much appreciated!
Always pleasure hearing from you Eugene. I hope is well! Jeff
As always, glad to see you flying. Just vatsim was very loud. Maybe something to check next time. Also, i think vatsim is much nicer witj radio effects on. But thats me....
Points well taken. Thank you!!!!
Hey captain will you be doing tutorials for the PMDG 777 for us? You are about the only one I will watch if so. The trailer dropped about an hour ago! Pretty excited for this one.
Absolutely, however, I'm away until July 29th. I can't wait. Thank you for asking.
Love your Videos Captain ... Thank you
Thank you Jason. I actually need to hear that! Thanks again!
@@FatherTime1958 Your Welcome
New to the channel but just seen the list of aircraft you have flown and I don't really know what to say. There's so many aircraft there I wish I could have flown (MD80, MD11, 757, A300) With regards to CTP Eastbound I don't know if you know PMDG are due to release their 777 for MSFS very soon starting with the 777-300 ER so i think that would be very fitting for CTP eastbound.
I absolutely cannot wait for the PMDG 777 to come to MSFS. What an incredible airplane. However, that Horizon 787-9 is pretty great too, and it keeps getting better, AND it’s free! Thank you very much, your words mean a lot to me.
Love the content
Thank you so much. This stuff is a lot of fun. Challenging, but fun.
Thanks for this wonderful edit, appreciated learning more of the important phases during long haul.
Thank you very much for taking the time to comment. It always makes my day!
Great video again 👍
Thank you. That means a lot to me!
Absolutely incredible!
Thank you again sir for sharing your experience, expertise, and especially your time with us.
Thank you so much. What an incredible operation VATSIM is. I am beyond impressed.
Which soundpack is this? Sounds great and with the chimes, too.
Go to FT Patreon. In the 787 Gen X pack. It’s kind of tricky to install. I got help from a friend!
@@FatherTime1958 Ahhh, thank you very much!
