      @QuestionThings123 5 років тому +7

      Yeah...any of these tricks I'm learning where I gotta completely let go of the knife for any instant, I'm practicing w/my trainer. No fuckin' way I'm even gonna attempt this w/my 51 or alpha beast. I suck pretty bad at this one though, I'll admit. I'm extremely confident with a lot of the regular stuff, but on a subconscious level, I'm doing something wrong when it comes to actually committing on the let-go. I think my brain is trying to scream "why TF u letting go of the handle, dumbass?! You're gonna cut yourself!" So then, I end up flinging the knife behind me, or somehow end up grabbing the blade once it comes around? Maybe someone's got some pointers for this for newbs to this one?
      Edit: okay, after practicing it some more, I'm starting to get the hang of it. I can get it around fairly well most of the time now, but sometimes end up catching the wrong handle and end up closing it, other times catching it the right way and works perfectly. Still ain't gonna be trying this w/anything but my imitation 42 trainer tho!

    I have to say after 1 cut and several close calls in like 10 minutes of practice, learning tricks with a blade instead of a trainer really makes you learn proper technique faster.
    The trick is really sick as someone who tried pen spinning in the past and only learnee thumb rollovers, cant wait to learn the helix and those kinda combo tricks.

    Thanks for all the tutorials, they've been of great help. I was struggling getting the handle and blade to go around my thumb with the vertical roll, so I rewatched the slow-mo. Turns out that if I fling it out and also pull my arm back a little, just enough momentum gets carried. It being vertical helps too, since the horizontal version makes it very easy to just *throw* the knife in any direction.

      JaKsNERF, reviews and showcase I'm having issues too. I stall out sometimes maybe because my knife is a bear and son and it binds up. The other knife I have is a quartermaster Marty mcfly... the handles are too light, blade too heavy and I end up flinging it sometimes to make it rotate. One thing I'm puzzled by is sometimes the knife rotates on its axis while rolling around my thumb, then I'm holding the wrong things like the bite handle or the blade edge is towards my palm but my fingers come to rest on the spine of the blade. I will get it right three times in a row, then drop it. Get it right twice, then catch the wrong thing... my shit is everywhere. I've been practicing for a week now. Just on this one move.

    Isn't this trick the zen Rollover but upwards? But still awesome

    • @BigFlips
      @BigFlips  7 років тому +8

      the zen rollover starts by holding the safe handle, so the blade comes flying at your fingers and you have to get out of the way. That tutorial will come eventually. Thanks for watching!
