I love how they managed to turn a log tower into an aerospace engineering project and a cart phasing through reality into an astronomical event.

It's good to have some kind of trigger below the map to spawn items back on the ground, or in this case, the sky.
Why the cart falls through the ground constantly can probably be chalked up to charborgs ability to somehow always cause the dumbest things to occur.
If we chart its z position or vertical position to an integer or some data value, the computer will eventually run out of dedicated memory for possible data values to represent it. When an integer gets so incredibly large it will go from the largest possible number to the smallest possible number known as an integer overflow. Since the cart is going from an extremely high value to an extremely low value and then back to an extremely high value it is likely that the cart is experiencing an underflow of its vertical position. Throughout the video the cart also appears to come by at smaller and smaller intervals. It is likely that there is no set terminal velocity calculated for the cart causing it to accelerate endlessly until the cart’s downward acceleration to eventually underflow as well, meaning at some point in time the cart might magically begin to rise very quickly into the air.

@@HauntedKnight-cj8kvso the way that velocity is treated is that it essentially teleports the sled so far every frame per second. If your velocity gets so fast it can actually teleport past the floor. Typically to fix this games will measure in a portion of this velocity. For example in Super Mario 64 the game checks if Mario would be in a wall for every quarter step of his velocity and if he would be then it puts him next to the wall, but of course one can just get so much velocity that at some point no amount of checking is going to cut it and Mario will just phase through objects. In a similar way it’s likely that in sons of the forest it is using Unity’s ground and gravity system which checks if the player or other objects would move into the ground or walls a lot more but still not enough for a supersonic sled. Once the sled glitched into the floor once, it was able to pick up enough downward velocity that it essentially teleported past the floor causing it to loop infinitely.

Charborg recreates the Tower of Babel
Genuinely blown away at how good of a problem-solver Charbo is.
The cart is the vehicle that travels through time and space, going through different time periods in different dimensions; Legend says every year the cart clips back into this reality and passes through that same spot. Carrying a new item.
Three cart problem
This reminds me of when my brother and I were playing Planet Crafter. We got to this underground base part and if you die your stuff falls through the map. Well, one of us died and we had a Blueprint. We thought all hope was lost and we'd have to restart our 50 hour save because we wanted to unlock every technology. I decided to do a hail Mary and dive through the world to see if a chest had spawned. To both our surprise there it was. About 1000 meters down in the void, our death chest with the blueprint in it. We got to work setting up a command center and expedition HQ. Mission after mission heading into the void to build a staircase straight down. We eventually set up a whole mining operation to feed the stair case production line. All was going well until we hit an instant kill area. We were on the brink of giving up when we had a snap of inspiration. We placed a ladder down. Ladders in Planet Crafter teleport you, you don't actually climb them. We spent the next 30 minutes placing ladders down and deleting them until we got it in the exact pixel perfect position to "skip" the death field. A small success but a welcome one. Another couple of hours of stair casing straight down and we finally see it come into render distance. The almighty chest. We inch our way closer and closer until we can almost reach it. Now the hard part. We can't build close enough to collect the chest. We have to make a leap of faith and stand on the chest. However, as soon as we collect the blueprint the chest will despawn. In a stroke of absolute luck, I manage to collect the blueprint and jump back to safety. We make the trek all the way back to the surface after what felt like days. We plug in the blueprint. "All technology already unlocked. Blueprint destroyed"

One of the most uniquely funny videos from Char Char, the music, the visuals, the proximity mic and talkies, the commentary, and the actual plot all unironically had me fascinated and hopeful for whatever weird thing they wanted to accomplish in any given moment.
