Hi@@myriamcanocastrillon2989. The dress was made with the size of the mannequin: 88-63-92. You can adjust the size by increasing or decreasing the number of cords.
@@myriamcanocastrillon2989 You can count the number of cords by your waist circumference. After all the Double haft knots of the waistline, it should fit your waist.
@@arnimeiyuni3217 Hi! The type I used in this project is 3mm polyester cord. It's a bit shinny and stretchy. I just did a Google search of "Rope katoon" but no result relating to it. Is it a brand or type of cord in Indonesia?
Hi Jessica! The total length of cord depends on the size of dress, the cord diametter. In the video, the dress was made with the size of the mannequin: 88-63-92 and 3mm diameter cord. The total length used was around 185 meters . You might need more cords if you use 2mm cords.Let me know if anything is unclear.:) Thanks
Hi Lacaro, the one I used was Polyester string. It's a bit shiny and does not stretch. I recommend this type because it creates a very expensive and nice look in black. You can also use cotton string as well. :)
I love your work!! Thank you so much for all of your tutorials! (: For material, I can’t find any poly cord in my area. Could I use cotton macrame cord 4mm for this? Sorry new to the whole clothing macrame thing ;) thank you in advance!
Hi!! Depending on the material one chooses the look will be either more modern-look or more bohemian. If you opt for the boho one, you can go with cotton cord. The dress works with 3mm, 4mm or even 5mm. You might need different quantity of cords depending on your size. Let me know if anything is unclear. Thank you!!!
Hi! Thanks so much for sharing your work, the dress is gorgeous :) My doubt is about the macrame cord. I have seen that you've used Bonnie craft cord. The problem is to adquire that because I love in Spain. Is ok for you using synthetic cord, I mean, nylon or rayon? polypropylene? I'm a mess. Thanks in advance
Hi Cuchifritina! The material of the cords could give the dress totally different looks which it's cool. I used poly cord in this project but you can try other materials as long as it give your skin the comfy while wearing. Let me know if anything is unclear!! Thank you
@@shesapples4845 thanks for answering :) Actually I would need a tough material (it should be for a festival session) as well as comfortable to the skin, since I have atopic skin. Is the poly cord rough to the touch? I have only touched cotton macrame cord, which I suspect is not appropriate for such events
@@marvillalba8671 Hi! There are many types of poly cord. The one I used was a bit rough and heavier comparing to pure cotton cord, but I still find it very comfortable to wear. This type of material gave the dress the morden-look instead of boho like some cotton cords. Let me know if anything is unclear!!!
@@shesapples4845 Ahmm, so depending on the material one chooses the look will be either more sophisticated or more bohemian. I think i'll opt for the boho one (your white boho dress #1 is my favourite ;) My last question: What about using t-shirt yarn for that dress? Thanks again for your patience and kindness
Thank you so much for your videos! Your designs look amazing! What length should my longest cords be, to create a dress that touches the ground? (Taking into consideration that the length of the cord is shortened with each knot) My height is 1.65 m.
Prepare the cord as these following lengths: Neckline: Neck circumference + 60cm x 2 cord Waistline: Waist circumference + 100cm x 2 cords Body-front (51 cords) : Your desired dress length + 20cm (For knots) + 50cm (For cords which are knotted on your backside on the waistline. Body-back: (18 cords): Your desired dress length + ~20cm (Depends on your waist circumference, you can add more or less than 6 as the video to fit in with your waist after all Double haft hitch knots) Let me know if anything is unclear. Thank you!!!
Hi Nancy! 1 basic way to make sleeve is that you can add around 15 cords (depends on your measuzment) to the neckline by Lark's head knots. Add 1 more cord and place it cross all cords (I don't know how to call it, but you can place the cord on shoulder right above armpit - this is bearing cord for Double half hitch knot). While knotting, you can add a couple of cords evenly to the bearing cord by Lark's head knots. It helps to cover all way round of your armline (except under arm part). The ends of the first line will touch the armpit, you can use 2 ends of the bearing cord to tie a knot under while wearing. After done the first line of Double half hitch knot. You can add 2 cords bearing cords more to make 2 lines of Double half hitch knots. These 3 lines' ends meet at the the first line ends. It's kind of a wordy reply. :))) Let me know if anything is unclear. :))) Good luck!!
HI Lindiana! Did you mean the dress have a see-through look? Basically, the dress can cover where it should be cover on the upper body. But you can wear the same colour body dress if you go for a less-showing skin look.:))
Hi. I got them in Vietnam. But you can get them from Amazon, Aliexpress or Ebay as well. Just Google search: Straight Tube Metal Spacer Loose Beads For DIY Handmade Making. Goodluck
Hi @Yessica Si Oc. For your question about the cords’ end. It depends on the material. The one I used in this video is poly cord, this type hardly opens or untwists. But if you use other material like cotton cord: tie a tight knot before cutting off the spare part of each cord, or with some other poly cords: burn the end of each cord a bit so all the strands or threads of the cord sticks together. Hope this is helpful. Let me know if anything is unclear. :)

what is the item you use to pass the cord from the metal tube?
