EA for the love of god, just remove your launcher from single-player games! I'm still skeptical about installing ME legendary edition on my deck. I literally own that game, why make it a hassle 😢
Linux isn't exactly newbie friendly. There are lots of videos online to help you though. Steam OS is pretty straight forward. It's pretty similar to console so you shouldn't have much trouble after a couple hours of exploring the settings.
There's plenty of videos out there to get you started. If you don't have a monitor maybe get a dock and a USB or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse (they come in handy regardless) you'll get used to it I promise. Now I love linux. Whatever you do, do not install windows onto the steam deck. The performance will be bad. I know people get frustrated with linux but the chip in the steam deck was designed with performance in mind with windows and overall my experience using windows on the steam deck required more additional plugins to get a "steam deck like" experience and it was just shitty at best. I doubt it, you won't see much benefit without a base frame rate around or above 60fps which you can't often achieve on the steam deck with games that you'd want to use AFMF 2 on
Hey jimmy, the latest update for the deck now seems to have built in pausing when switching apps in gaming mode. Is there any Way to turn this off? I love using spotify and the brave browser or a game at the same time. Now that is impossible, so i reverted the latest update.
dude , i put so many hours trying to get nfs unbound to work on my deck , after weeks of community digging , got the game to launch , set everything on low , reso. at 80% amd i get like 38 fps , looks so blurry then i launch wreckfest , just works ...
All Valve have to do is update the T&C and they could make it so all that use a 3rd party launcher get charged higher rates because now valve has to do more work to make that game run so if dev wants to put in its own DRM that brakes Steam support on non Windows then they should be punished for it

EA has soooo many good old games so i really want them to win... but its hard to root for the guys charging thousands of dollars for "dlc" aka features that should've been in the base game. Hopefully the new dragon age is better than their last big rpg and hopefully they kept the good romance the DA and ME series's had with this.

LOL made a good move… they just released last month an update adding EA anti cheat to EA wrc making it unplayable on deck after about 8 month of launch and being a game that worked flawlessly before it……
If you love indie games and older triple a games and don't care for games like destiny or cod like me. Then 110% yes. Also using gyro for aiming and the 4 back buttons are a game changer for shooters. But you need to order those rubber back button adaptors.
the 1tb has slight colour differences, i prefer the glossy regular screen when viewing oled and would never used etched glass. you still have the option to use etched glass with screen protector (or regular matte), but you dont with the 1tb. don't get a killswitch case, i don't think its really worth the price. im rocking a standard jsaux case, not even the mod one, because it ran me $20 aud. put your larger games that you're playing on the ssd, and get a big sd card for the lightweight ones or games you need to offload. a screen protector or two is a must have, even if you dont think you'll ever drop it, it can still scratch or get damaged otherwise. a power bank is a good idea too. a dock isnt needed unless you dont have a computer and are planning to use it like one.
I would say don’t I got my oled 1 month ago and I don’t play it anymore I use my nintendo switch the steam deck crash in so many games and it struggle to play games that are over 10 years old it’s not worth it at all
it's such a mess. like, i am playing tons of "unsupported" games without any issues whatsoever. and then there's "verified" that doesn't even boot because you played it once, 17 years ago, in 1080p on your pc. and you have to figure that shit out entirely on your own, install it on your pc, set the resolution to 720p nope out of the game and only then your verified game launches on your deck. smh
no rest for the wicked aswell , i think they need to cook that more in the oven , 1 year before we can play it on a deck at stable 60fps with lower graph. settings rly wanted to play that but il let it wait
This BioWare game has so much negative Rp already, so a bit of positivte is needed. But why should i buy a game that shows so much modernity? Which is for me the only reason why EA did it to get more people to buy it and people can say somethign nice about it.

@@ComptonII Lighter games run decently in 1080p. (Some even in 1440p and 4K) More demanding ones do kind of struggle. FSR and similar techniques could help.

EA games are just the worst. Haven't bought one them for years. They by up small companies shut them down and destroy great game franchises. Awful firm. Conscript is excellent and worth every penny.

My keyboard has 108 keys or "buttons" let's just say we use 4 keys for direction movement, one button for crouch and sliding etc.

I read that it looks good because of the higher res than the oled...but can struggle to run games at 1080. Cannot confirm.
its worse, smaller size, not oled requires very very touchy and finnicky disassembly
