Thanks. I was just getting more and more annoyed with the stock console and had to figure something out. The custom prerunner consoles would have been great but when I got the quotes I quickly had to look for something else

Armrests are tough and still trying to figure that out. We tried to do something connected to the seats. Like captains seats, but the amount of phone on these seats is crazy. We would had had to fab up and weld a crazy structure to hold them.
I still have an idea of what I want to do, but it’s going to take me a bit to do it
After seeing the nearly final setup its great to see how yall did it. Man its been quite a process so far 🔥

Looks great , are you going to block the ac ducts off that went to back seats ? If you don't you may lose air velocity to your front vents . Dumping air inside that console.
We did later on as we were finishing up the console for our first round of testing.
Maybe a little late, but did you check with border patrol if they had old consoles? Or some one that bought a BP truck that wanted a factory console back.
I did. Not a fan of the border patrol layout. Console was much smaller and the layout was not as efficient.
I feel like just doing the factory amp and sub delete would have saved you some time as theyre crap anyway. Really curious how you proceed though. I dont do desert running but i do have alot of similar technologies for overlanding and await the end result.
I have though of doing the stock amp delete. PAC parts makes a kit that plugs in to the stock harness and allows you to do line level RCA outputs so that you can run an aftermarket amp properly.
But if you remove the stock amp, you loose all the stock tones. For doors, and codes and stuff like that. So regardless I think I will be keeping the stock amp.
So my plan will be to figure out a way to hide the stock amp. Maybe under the passenger seat or behind the console so I can run air under the new console. Then run 2 amps. 1 for a sub and one for the door speakers. I’ll replace all the door speakers and build a custom sub box that comes off the custom console and hold at least 1 10in or 12in sub in the middle that will help me also hide the stock amp and give me a platform that for the rear vents. Hope that makes sense.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I didn't know about the door chime stuff...damn, guess ill be in the same boat. I've replaced all the door speakers but I've never liked the factory sub. but I'm not dedicated enough yet to do the center console lol. maybe after i see what you do with the air in the back i may be more inclined to tackle it. my truck hauls a lot of people at the moment so this level of a project definitely is on the wait list. Good luck though, glad to see you still pumping out Gen 1 stuff.

I wonder if you could buy an 09-15 console from police departments that are upgrading their trucks?
Not anymore. Those trucks get retired whole. And only ones I know that would work are the border patrol raptors because all the other f150 have the shifter on the steering column

Wood was an option, but a wood console won’t last on a high speed offroad truck. The vibrations are killer and Shake out anything apart

Composite would be awesome. But cost gets up and up. I think I’m going to do a mix of wood and metal plates to add a subwoofer and get air to the back of the truck. Still need to design it and figure a few things out but that’s next
Have you had any problems with your door harnesses? My driver and passenger side windows dont work and fuse 32 keeps blowing. Seems theres a short in the harness where the door attaches to the truck. I'm thinking once fixed, maybe a mod might be to tape around harness so it dont rub as much
I have not. The harness for the doors is easy to trace to find out where the short may be.
