    I was disappointed when I found out the bottle wasn't glass, and no longer disappointed when I saw how you got the boat in. That's so simple and clever, I love it.

    Wow that's incredible. Wouldn't have guessed it isn't a glass bottle from the thumbnail. Great post processing and I'm glad to see you wearing gloves while handling the resin. Really great video.

      4th, and literally. Time. The bottle is shifted into existence layer by layer as it travels in time (at standard 1s per s forward), by the printer.
      The pause button stops the process before the geometry of the bottle is finalized, allowing the benchy to be put in.

    In version 2, you should (have someone) blow a glass bottle around a Benchy that is printed in a material that will survive the temp of being inside when the glass is blown closed.

    Fantastic. I was going to joke about how you should have just printed the bottle around the benchy, but then it turned out that's exactly what you did!

    Now I'm starting to wonder if all ships in bottles are just made this way and we've all been lied to in a sense where they made it look loads harder than it actually is.

    • @petermichaelgreen
      @petermichaelgreen 3 місяці тому

      AIUI the traditional way to do a ship in a bottle is to put the sails on hinges such that the ship can be folded down into a form that is just about small enough to fit through the neck of the bottle. Then strings are pulled to raise the sails after the ship is in the bottle.
