Mactan Island, located in the Philippines, is a paradise for divers, attracting enthusiasts from all over the world. Among them, a group of Japanese divers frequently joins Jaime and Rio, two experienced dive guides, on their underwater adventures. These divers have become regular clients, captivated by the stunning beauty of Mactan's dive sites and the warm hospitality of its people.
To reach the jump-off point, Jaime's place offers a short and enjoyable ride. Sitting at the back of a small truck, they wave at the friendly locals and experience the scents of delicious food, fresh fish, and occasionally, the aroma of pig dung, depending on the wind's direction. In just a few minutes, they arrive at the shore, greeted by a dedicated crew ready to assist in transporting their diving gear onto the boat.
Mactan Island boasts an abundance of dive sites, and the divers' itinerary includes three marine sanctuaries, a captivating wreck site, and an intriguing underwater cavern. Taking into account the weather conditions, they observe the sizeable waves crashing against the shoreline, adding an extra thrill to their already exhilarating experience.
