Great, thanks for the video. I also have the Hiker Extreme off-road 5x9. Currently fabricating a proper skid plate for the underbed storage compartment and water tank.
Just remember don't add to much weight, your trailer is heavier than you think. Mine is like 2800lbs. It will take a huge rock to hit the storage compartment I have done some fairly hard trails and have never hit the storage or the water tank. With yours being 9 foot you are more prone to hit the water tank because i think it's back farther than mine is.

Thanks for the great video. Just ordered a 5x10 hiker mid range deluxe but decided to not go with the fridge box. Down here in Florida that would get way too hot inside during the day to maintain a fridge. Went with 24" deep galley instead and will mount the fridge sideways in there. Found a really nice sideways mount slide online.

very nice…i’m a “ new y” at Hiker Trailer family. Trying to install more solar up to. haw do you bring it inside. What size controller do you use ??
The solar was already run into the trailer when I bought it. But this is what the piece is that is going I to the trailer amzn.to/3rr11aH
and I use a 30 Amp controller. Hope that helps

Yes, the flat one on the top of the rack folds up. It is made out of some aluminum angle. The angle slides in the track on the rack and pivots the panel up.

What is the make/model of the tongue box on the trailer?
Specifically, the one that the fridge/cooler is in.
They are custom made boxes. I think if you get ahold of Randy Clary over at Leaddog motor sports in Lake Havasu he could probably get you one.

@@redrockoverland I'm working on designing a slide-in box for my 5x8 utility trailer. This way, the trailer can be a dual purpose trailer. As a camp trailer and still be able to use it to haul things. I have a few extreme versions ($$$$), and right now I'm working on a simplified version ($). Will still have to wait to see what the future brings.
I was comparing the Hiker to the Mammoth trailer. For the same amount of money, you get more with the Mammoth. However, the Mammoth lack serious storage space and I am not hearing good things about Mammoth customer service. The cost is still pushing me to attempt a DIY version.
