Doris Day. I loved her movies and singing voice. She wanted to be a dancer before an accident made her turn to singing and acting. Haven't watched whole video yet, but looking forward to it. Thx for doing one on Doris Day.

One day at work we were talking about Doris Day how much we all loved her!!! Our boss Colonel Bill Sweeney told us Doris was his babysitter before she became famous. He told us how wonderful she was and her beautiful singing voice. Imagine having Doris as your babysitter??? Loved this vlog! So happy Papaw is doing well! Agreed Jah should be in the vlog. Doris saved many dogs, cats and horses!

Hi Jordan, what a lovely vlog. I love Doris Day. I always play her Christmas Album on the run up to Christmas and I always feel so warm and cosy. It was so nice of her to pay for the dog park. I can watch her films and listen to her albums over and over again. God bless Doris Day for all that she did for the animals. Lovely news about your Grandpa. Great vlog Jordan.

I saw Doris once at her inn in Carmel. She must have been there for a meeting or something. I didn't initially recognize her but noticed a lovely, well dressed older woman. She turned and smiled at me with THAT smile, and I immediately recognized her as Doris Day. Such a cool moment. Even in her 80s, she still had a smile as bright as sunshine! She really radiated loveliness!

One of the first things I did when I moved to Cincinnati 23 years ago was find Doris Day’s childhood home. There’s also a ton of history behind the Crosley headquarters building in Northside, where lots of famous people broadcast from the studio there. The building is still there, but it’s abandoned.

Very Nicely done, Jordan. First, happy to hear your Grandpa is doing better. I remember watching the Doris Day Show with my mom in the 1970's. I must have been around nine or ten years old. I LOVED HER, enjoyed hearing her sing. She was So Beautiful. Nice to get to learn more about her. THANK YOU so much, you covered so much including bits I didn't know. I don't know if it is normal for a nine or ten year old to have a Crush. But, she was just SO BEAUTIFUL. ;)

Thank you so much for this Jordan. I adored Doris Day. Have every movie, almost all her recordings and biographies. Cary Grant, Shirley Temple and Doris are all my favorites. Doris, in particular taught me that one door closing can certainly open up a new door or life adventure. She was a true talent. My only disappointment is that there is no grave for her to go to pay my respects. I am so appreciative of you doing this video Jordan. Have a wonderful day. Blessings - Judith 🎭🎵

Doris also had history in Hamilton and Trenton Oh. In Hamilton her Aunt lived next door to my Grandparents and my Mother, they saw her the day she was hit by the train in Hamilton. She had told them she and her dancing partner were going to Hollywood as they had just signed a contract to dance in the movies. As a child she spent alot of time at her Aunts in Hamilton and with Her Aunt and Uncle in Trenton on their farm. I have a cousin who's parents played cards with her parents and Doris would babysit my cousin. Since you're in the area you should do a vlog on Powell Crosley jr who started WLW the Nation's station and owned Crosley manufacturing co and the Cincinnati Reds. Glad to hear your Papaw is doing better

Jordan what a thorough video. It's great. I read Doris' autobiography as a young girl. Her father was rather austere and had some racist tendencies. He actually married a black woman later in life and his whole personality changed and Doris absolutely loved his wife. That had to be in the 40s or 50s. She also had an older brother named Paul who died at 37 from an aneurysm. I think he was a semi pro baseball player and then worked as a manager in LA.

Just down the street from where you were. Thanks for taking us there. Have been to church and meetings in St.Mark's - it is beautiful. Really loved and enjoyed Doris Day. I play the organ so alot of her music was played on it while I was growing up and learning to play. I also greatly enjoyed her songs redone to a Disco beat when I got into the dance craze back then. 😅 Yes, I am an old fart now, pushing between 66 and death!! 🤣 And yes I loved the disco's back then in the 70s. Times have changed, and not all for the better.

I'm convinced now that at the time, the road was level and went across the tracks, amd since they made the road go under.. she said she could remember laying on the main road there crying for her mother, so that would lead you to believe the train it them going across that intersection

She had a dirty, floppy sun hat on wearing all denim as though she had been doing yard work all day. She left in a big Suburban type SUV that had the top chopped off, converted to a convertible but had the top down.
