Tim Shore no. The B&M rattle is unbearable on Fury. I love the drop on it but it rattles so much I got a migraine from my head hitting the back of the chair. I thought that vortex was pretty fun. I think because I’m so short, my head would just fit inbetween the over the shoulder restraints. Also I loved nighthawk. Smooth. And very fun and I was in the middle row
I went to Carowinds yesterday, so a few comments. 1. Hurler has terrible headbanging even with the pillow seats, and all my friends hated it. 2. Afterburn is hidden in the back of the park, so the line was very short, and it was among the best rides. 3. Fury is great and generally really smooth, and I think had 3 different airtime sections. 4. nighthawk is a fantastic coaster, it is very intense and everybody should ride it. The fact you are facing backwards makes it even better, but facing up is annoying on sunny days. also, it breaks down WAY too often. 5. It's important to see how fast the lines in rides move. Fury, intimidator, and afterburn move really fast because they run 3, 3, and 2 trains respectively while Flying Cobras is very slow because it can only run 1 train.
I worked there two summers. One was before paramount owned it and the 2nd was right after the purchase. We were given a very strict speech that we had to always say “paramount’s carowinds” and if we were heard not using “Paramounts” we would be reported and written up. There wasn’t much else that changed.
You have to go back to Carowinds and ride Copperhead Strike! It was awesome! Though it wasn't very forceful, it had awesome transitions, the inversions were really fun; you get so much hang time, it was super smooth, and the airtime was surprisingly fantastic. Probably my second favorite coaster in the park, right behind Fury.
I lost my glasses on Flying Ace. The headbanging was so bad, it snapped the side of my glasses and they fell down to the grass, never to be seen again.
I love your channel and have gotten hooked on the rides. After seeing your review of Hershey’s coasters, I got my parents to take a trip to Pennsylvania. Thank you!
nice review. i grew up in the 80s & went to carowinds a dozen times. some random memories include throwing up after riding the oaken bucket 3 times in a row, getting a stiff neck after riding carolina cyclone for the first time & being super nervous, getting stuck halfway through thunder road & the power going off, intentionally getting splashed by rip roaring rapids on hot summer days & riding scooby doo 10 times in a row because i was too short to ride any adult coasters. i remember white lightning scaring the crap out of me & my friends when we were kids & the urban legends about the front car going off the end a few times & dumping people out to their deaths. i finally rode it several times as a teenager & it really wasn't that bad. carowinds will always be part of my childhood & brings fond memories of ragtime music, the smell of popcorn & the sound of roller coasters whooshing by.
Taking everything you said about Carolina Goldrusher, you would really like Adventure Express at Kings Island or River King Mine Train at Six Flags St. Louis (my 2 favorite Arrow Mine Trains)
Ah, you just missed out on Thunder Road by a couple of years. Big wooden out and back dueling coaster, with one train going forward and the other going backward the whole way. I went to Carowinds every week all summer for about 3 years (bless you, season passes) with my best friend in middle school, and every time we went we'd ride that at least 10 times. Lines were short on the backward train (plus, iirc it was usually the one that won), so we'd just get to stay in our seats and ride it on repeat. Hurler's okay, but Thunder Road was absolutely awesome. So much air time. Wish we'd had Fury 325 and the Intimidator back then, those are absolutely incredible. I really miss Thunder Road though, I walk by there every time I go to the park now and it's just sad.
Every year our school takes a visit to Carowinds and I couldn’t be more excited 😄 Thanks for making this video, now I can know which ones will be bumpy and uncomfortable 💕
Glad you mentioned Montu. That is my personal fav as well, but I'd put Alpengeist at BG Williamsburg at #2 and Afterburn at #3. Great video! Love Carowinds!
great list! i put afterburn at #2 that ride is intense. Fury was outstanding you can feel the speed through out the whole ride, and you all most greyout at the bottom of the first hill, Amazing Ride!!!!
I rode all of these and my top three are 3: Nighthawk 2: Fury 325 1: Afterburn I prefer faster coasters, especially because that was the last one we rode, all the wind cooled us down.
Warning!: on the way up: you gonna be evaluating everything you did wrong with your life. On the way down in the first drop: you life gonna flash before your eyes. Yep. Just be ready. Lol
I loved the Carolina goldrusher! I was scared of riding roller coasters but I rode this one and started to work out my confidence of riding roller coasters
I used to work operating vortex and every driver have to test the ride before the park open. We call it "the nutcracker" (self explanatory). That ride grew up on me. Like a rash. The only good thing working at that ride was, our line is always the shorter one in the whole park. Even on insanely busy days. But i am EXTREMELY happy see my home park on here. And yes, the list is pretty accurate. I looove ricochet, nighthawk and afterburn. I encourage you to try the new one. You gonna LOVE IT! Tons of air time and is insanely fun.
Went this past monday and rode fury 325 23 times, 13 of which were marathon by sitting in the train every time we went into the station. Lines werent bad so they didn't make me get up. Best roller coaster ive ever ridden so far.
Would love to see a former coasters episode. Carowinds use to be my home park back in the day. Still hurts knowing I never got to ride Thunder Road one last time that was my favorite coaster there.
Now you have to go back and try out our new ride! It’s called copper head strike, it was put in this past summer of 2019. I love the fury, but honestly the new ride is just as fun if you enjoy double launches and many loops that hang you upside down.
Our band class went there last year and the whole class ride the Fury and it was fun and rode all the other rides. I loved the Afterburn, Intiminator and Fury.
Afterburn used to be called Top Gun when Paramount owned the park. When you got to the station, Danger Zone played. It was so cool. I believe one of the model planes is still there.
I wish you could have gone when Thunder Road was still there. It and Fury 325 only overlapped 1 year but it was truly the crown jewel of the Carolinas and my favorite wooden roller coaster. It’s missed by everyone that road it.
Carowinds is about 30 mins from where I live! I'm not tall enough to ride the Fury, but hopefully, when I go there fore Summer camp, I will be! Flying Cobras was the first one I ever rode. Also, one time, I was in the dinosaur land area, and I saw the Intimidator stuck at the top of one of the hills! But I think they were just testing it again since it was the end of the day.
Woodstock express was my first coaster (even though I rode the kings island one) and I really need to go back to kings island now that I’m a enthusiast
Snorted a tiny bit when you got to number 3 and I realized the non-vortex B&Ms were the only ones remaining. Predictable list? Sure, but those opinions are predictable for a reason. All 3 are great coasters.
I am only 9 years old and I went on the Fury 325. I have to admit, it was pretty fun. I went on it 2 times, then I had to leave. Actually, it was kind of slow in my opinion, my fav ride was the ricochet. I really enjoyed Carowinds, but now I am back at home with my cute dog and I have no girls in my family, just women
I am kind of like my dad, I am brave to do a lot of things that are really scary to other people and it is not that scary actually, all I want to say is if u go to Carowinds, I hope you have a great time and make sure to ride the Fury 325!:)
Leahs Lifestyle I'm 10 turning 11 on Tuesday October 17th (3 days from now) and I'm going to Carowinds today and I'm gonna ride it I hope it's fun and I don't poop my self lol
Last time I went to this park was in 2007 and I wanna say all the rides names seemed to have changed. They had Top Gun, The Borg, Carolina Cyclone off the top of my head.
When I get to go back to carowins like in the future I'm gonna go on 7 of the roller coasters and I've been on like 3 of the roller coasters like the fury 325 and it was fun
Fury 325 is INSANE!!! My butt levitated out of the seat for almost the whole ride! And I SWEAR that first drop is at a larger than 180 drop!! I can't wait to go back!
Bruuuhh the best place in Atlanta. I went there in 2019 and the roller coaster that went upside down I screamed for my mother😂😂😂. I went an the kiddy's hawk alot of times. I wanna go again some time
I love the Hurler, Afterburn (I rode it back when it was Top Gun), and the Goldrush is fun as a hell. But I wish you had a chance to ride Thunder Road. My childhood was that coaster, and I hated it when they took it out, I mean I nearly cried. Unfortunately as a larger fella I couldn't ride Nighthawk, (back when it was called the Borg Assimilator.) . I know they make coasters with the average in mind but so many cool looking coasters do not like big/wide people.
My Top 13 13: Lucy's Krabbie Kabbies (Kiddie Coaster) 12: Ricochet (I thought this was trash, super jerky, rough, and just a piece of garbage) 11: Flying Ace Aerial Chase (Roughest coaster I've ever ridden, it's so painful, and I guess it's a junior SLC LOL) 10: Carolina Goldrusher (I didn't think this was that good, I thought it was boring and bland, and it was kind of rough) 9: Woodstock Express (I surprisingly enjoyed this) 8: Nighthawk (I rode it in the front and it wasn't garbage, but still super bumpy) 7: Carolina Cyclone (I surprisingly thought this was a decent coaster) 6: Hurler (this blew my mind, it was a nice wooden coaster) 5: Vortex (only stand up I've ridden, I got a little head banging, but I enjoyed this) 4: The Flying Cobras (I rode it when it was Carolina Cobra) 3: Afterburn (OMG BEST INVERT EVER!!! It is so intense, it is very smooth, and it's so much fun) 2: Intimidator (this is incredible, the airtime is fantastic, and the whole ride is just amazing, that drop surprisingly made me grey out which shocked me) 1: Fury 325 (my number one coaster as well, it is good in every way, that's all I gotta say LOL)
Well, my two favorites off this list are Hurler and Gold Rusher. Gold Rusher was the first main coaster I ever went on, so that is near and dear to my heart, and Hurler because, well, who doesn't love a good wooden coaster. Another one of my first that was on this list was Arial Chase, being the second one I ever went on, so that is close to my heart. The only reason I don't go on the Furry is because the Intimidator was enough for me. (I rode it back when wind seeker was new, so it was still sorta new)
We think this vid is supper accurate!! I love how you put vortex at 13 it should have been 99. Totally right about the hang time in intimidator and a night time front row ride in the fury 325 is literally the best!!!! ❤️😀😜
I just went to carowinds Today! And just to be clear, the Afterburn was HELL. It was my first time on it though. The first drop was painful. And the coaster kept pulling my head down and couldn't get it in its right position. The Nighthawk and Cobra were nice. I was going to ride the rest of rides but it started to rain😥. When I go back again atleast ill be prepaired for the Afterburn😁.
I can't believe goldrush, cyclone, and Scooby Doo (woodstock express) are still there. From time to time I do wonder if white lighting is still breaking down at least once a day in where ever it went off to. I rode hurler when it first opened and asked another employee if they were still trying to pound the nails into it. It was pretty rough. I don't remember the seats having cushions.
The Fury honestly is the best ride ever. My dad owns a fence business and they did all the fencing around the Fury and the newest ride I cant remember the name of it. My dad and the guys that work for him were actually on the second run of the fury that had people on it.
I've ridden Nighthawk last year in the FBC, and it was terrible. Maybe you went on a good day but it was so rough I needed to ride Windseeker right after each time to relax my head
Go on a weekday, get to the park within an hour of opening and make a beeline straight for it once you get in. Fury is a VERY high-capacity ride and runs three trains regularly so it's not going to be like trying to get on Millennium Force, but it still tends to draw a huge crowd.
VestedUTuber MF also runs three trains. I went to Carowinds for the first time last August and was amazed how empty the park was. I went on a weekday, and only needed to stay for about 3 hours. In that time I rode all of the coasters at least once. Went on Afterburner 3 times, Intimidator 6 times, and Fury 8 times. You could literally walk up to the stations and sit on the next train that pulled in. Also helped that I was by myself so I had nobody to wait on.
I went to carowinds 10 days ago with my dad and to be honest we just went on the small rides (FAAC/Kiddyhawk, Woodstock express, ricochet, and Carolina goldrusher) But we went on other rides beside coasters and stayed for 5 hours! Edit: I forgot to tighten my seatbelt on Woodstock express so I almost went flying 😂
I went to Carowinds in the 1970s and 80s, and the Goldrusher was the only coaster I really liked. Thunder Road was so bumpy I was afraid the track might collapse under me. Goldrusher was a lot smoother. I didn't even attempt White Lightning. I looked at it and said "Nope!" ;-D And of all of them, Goldrusher is the one which is still there, after all these years. Cool.
I went yesterday for the first time and I will go again in like 1-3 years I think I was on the Carolina Goldrusher and the Hurler. Also some other rides but they were not roller coasters. My sister went on the Slingshot though Btw I through the Hurler was INTENSE. It felt like a earthquake for me. I’m glad I didn’t go on the fury.
I haven't rode after burn but when you said "montu" i was like oh yeah! that's my favorite b&m invert i have ever rode and the only b&m invert i have ever rode
Carowinds is my hometown theme park, and I agree for the most part. My favorite coaster is the Goldrusher, it's not too thrilling but still really fun!
Afterburn (Which will always be called Top Gun in my heart) was better when it had a tunnel. It used to go underground briefly, not sure when they changed it, probably after the Cedar Fair buy out. But that was my very first steal coaster ever and it holds a special place in my heart. And the kid's wooden coaster (which I still call the Scooby Doo coaster, I grew up at Carowinds, I can't help it) was my first wooden coaster. Lots of nostalgia here.
I've been a season pass holder at Carowinds for the past decade and I've just become an employee, so I can help you there. (Please note, this is only going to be a guide to hit all the coasters, because if I try to include every flat ride as well, we'll be there all day. You'll hit most, if not all the flats if you go along the path I'm creating for you.) First, get to Nighthawk as soon as the park opens if you want the credit. Otherwise the line will be at least 45+ minutes long due to the long load/unload times and in my opinion, the ride isn't worth the wait. (I'm actually very surprised he didn't mention the long wait time in the video, but that was probably just because he focused on the coasters themselves rather than other elements such as wait times.) Second, ride the Intimidator after Nighthawk. The entrance is right across from Nighthawk, and it's usually the first and/or last coaster my family will hit because it's so close to the front entrance of the park. Third, take a left out of Intimidator's exit/gift shop and head to Flying Ace Aerial Chase. The entrance is right across from the Panda Express and before you go over the bridge. Fourth, go on the little path across from the entrance of Flying Ace Aerial Chase next to the Panda Express and head to Woodstock Express. The entrance is right behind the Character Carousel, so it should be pretty easy to find if you head past the Woodstock Gliders. Fifth, take a right out of the exit for Woodstock Express and head deeper into Planet Snoopy to find Lucy's Crabbie Cabbie. It'll be right across from the entrance of the Helicopter ride. Sixth, go back towards the Woodstock Gliders and take a left to exit Planet Snoopy. Take another left and head towards the restrooms and the Dinosaurs Alive gift shop/entrance and you'll find Afterburn. Seventh, go past the Plants Vs. Zombies arena and the bumper cars (there's a path to the right of the exit right as you pass the jet) and take a left to head to the new County Fair section of the park, which is where you'll find the Flying Cobras. (As well as the entrance to the waterpark, if you plan to go there. Try to find me if you can, I'm a lifeguard at Carolina Harbor.) *PLEASE NOTE* I would highly recommend that you ride the new flat rides in the County Fair section if you have time and it's not busy. That will be the busiest section of the park because of how new it is, and depending on whether you go on a weekend or weekday, the lines might extend past the entrance for the rides, especially Electro Swing, which is by far my favorite of the new rides. Eighth, after you've ridden the Flying Cobras, take a right out of the exit and walk past the First Aid Station and Chickie and Pete's (which has the best fries in the park, if you're hungry). The Carolina Goldrusher will be on your right. Ninth, take a right out of the exit of Goldrusher and you'll come across Ricochet. It's behind a drink station and there will be a board in front of it that looks like a postcard with cutouts where the people's faces should be so that guests can take a picture. Tenth, take a right out of the exit of Ricochet, pass the entrance to the ride and you'll be facing the entrance of Carolina Cyclone. (As I'm sure you've noticed by now, several of the coasters are placed in pairs right next to each other for easy access.) Eleventh, take a left out of Cyclone and you'll see Hurler. It'll be next to the Jukebox Diner and the Drop Tower. Twelfth, take a right out of Hurler and you'll come face to face with Fury 325. Make sure you don't have any loose articles with you as you enter the queue line, or else you'll be turned away by an associate and have to get a locker. Leave any loose articles with a non-rider or you can buy a locker for $2 an hour before you enter the line. *PRO TIP*: Ask the ride attendant at the top of the stairs if you can get the front row. 95% of them will say you can, and definitely will if it's a slow day and the line for the front isn't already 3-4 cars deep. The far left seat on the front row is the best seat in the entire park, let alone the ride. And finally, after you've ridden Fury about 50 times, (because once you ride it, you never want to get off) grab your belongings and head to the left past the Scream Weaver. Go past the basketball game and take a left, and you'll find the entrance to Vortex. (This is not saving the best for last. While I disagree with the opinion Theme Park Crazy had that this is the worst coaster in the park, it is definitely one of them. Go back and ride Fury for another 50 times after riding this. It'll help.) Congratulations!! If you did everything I told you in the guide, you've just successfully ridden every coaster in the park with (most likely) tons of time to spare for the flat rides and coaster loops. If you want to head back to the Front Entrance towards Intimidator and Nighthawk after riding Vortex, take a right out of the exit and pass Papa Luigi's restaurant and the Scrambler, then pass under the awning and take a right as you pass Rip Roaring Rapids. You'll find that you're back where you started at the Main Gate. If you have any questions or need any other tips about the park like food, restrooms, Fast Lane (Carowinds' version of Fast Pass), shows, etc., feel free to ask me on this thread. Like I said at the beginning, I'm basically a wealth of knowledge on this park due to my decade as a guest and my current job. I'd be happy to help with anything else you need. (And finally, I want to apologize for the wordiness of this post. I love this park and I wanted to be as descriptive as possible to help you.)
Woodstock Express was made just 2 years before Carowind’s even opened! Edit: even goldrusher was made when carowind’s open just a few months later lmao
I've been there for 6 years, stopped going, and I'm returning this year! I'm so excited Edit: every time I go I ride the Woodstock Express and one year my dad's hat flew off xD also when riding the Intermediater I couldn't even sit back! Everyone thought I fell asleep...
My dad and sister begged me to ride the Vortex once. Once done, my crotch and stomach was hurting bad. I threw up and had to lay down in the brick planters for about 30 minutes while Mom and Dad argued for the rest of the trip about who's fault it was and should they take me home. We never went on that stand up ride again. Surprisingly, I actually have a good tolerance for certain roller coasters. I went on fury 325 without greying out at all, so I dont know why I got sick on the vortex. Maybe it was my nerves combined with the roughness? IDK.
My first ride on fury was in the back, and it was weak. But I tried the front later that day and it was so much better. (But still not as good as the voyage, diamondback)
i grew up going to carowinds and know my way around that park like the back of my hand, i love it so much.
Todomo ik!! Carowinds has always been the closest park to me and I still love going!!
Im moving to North Carolina and i know Busch Gardens Tampa like the back of my hand
Same, you from Rock Hill as well.
Same i get season passes every year and scarowinds is very fun
Same here! Go Carowinds!
Wow, 475 views in just a couple hours? I'm honestly shocked. Thanks for checking out the video! :)
now you call a bunch more
Little did he know
Afterburn is my favorite! I ride it every time I go! Not to mention the line is always really short so I spend most of my time on it. :3
Same
Same I love afterburn Infact I rode it on Saturday lol
It’s my favorite too! My siblings get too nauseous but I could ride it 10 times over
Cooper Does Stuff thank you
Have you heard of fury 325 it’s a whole lot better
Thank you!! I live in Charlotte and totally agree that the vortex hurts
Abby Kirby Yasssss omg I live an hour away from charlotte
Abby Kirby I live 45 minuets away from Charlotte
Yea, I did it for the first time and it hurt soooooo bad
Abby Kirby me to
Abby Kirby. Omg it did I went on it today for 1 time
Flying Cobras wasn't it named Carolina cobra before? I went to Carowinds in 2015 and I swear the track was orange with green support pole things
It was; it was re-painted and re-themed this year. It was also at Geauga Lake; that's where it was first built in 1996.
haylie21 aj yes they renamed it and repainted it
haylie21 aj They just did a remake over on Carolina cobra but they changed the name to flying cobras
haylie21 aj yes it was
haylie21 aj it was changed when they created the county fair rides, and they included it in the area, so they changed the name
Totally agree Vortex the worst, Fury the best. Perfect rankings!!
people don't know how to properly ride standups
^^^^
@@kevinthompson6986 how do you do it?
Tim Shore no. The B&M rattle is unbearable on Fury. I love the drop on it but it rattles so much I got a migraine from my head hitting the back of the chair. I thought that vortex was pretty fun. I think because I’m so short, my head would just fit inbetween the over the shoulder restraints. Also I loved nighthawk. Smooth. And very fun and I was in the middle row
Got off with a high pitched voice
Rory H agreed
Nighthawk sucks, its too rough and the operations are shit
dude you need shoulder restraints for head banging, hurler didn't have shoulder restraints
Rory H head banging only happens with OTSR restraints and you call night hawk a fantastic coaster?! Wtf
I love the hurler but I didn't get to ride the Afterburn. And I love the Fury and Intimadator maybe the cobra
I remember going to Carowinds...it’s changed so much. Anyone remember the Nick rides?
Kamcion Thats back when they were owned by paramount. Good times
NPC#789132 They were owned by Paramount? Huh. I wonder what happened.
I worked there two summers. One was before paramount owned it and the 2nd was right after the purchase. We were given a very strict speech that we had to always say “paramount’s carowinds” and if we were heard not using “Paramounts” we would be reported and written up. Heck yeah!
I just went there yesterday. AND AFTERBURN WAS LEGIT
The loop was the craziest part in my opinion
Is it scary? I'm 9 and so it might be more scarier for me Cuz I'm a kid
Precious Stacks depends on who you are, my nine year old sister is obsessed with rides, but yeah, it is very intense.
I went to carowinds back when it called paramount carowinds and I love the ride back when it was called top gun
it felt like i was going in a straight line for me
I disagree with you on Carolina Cyclone. it doesn't seem like much, but it's still one of my favorite rollercoasters out there.
Rob Baker I have to disagree because it hurts my head really bad and I get a headache from it
Rob Baker same with me I really like the Carolina Cyclone
ᑌᑎIᑕOᖇᑎ ᏢᎡᏆNᏟᎬᏚᏚ its a good arrow looper compared to Anaconda at KD or Steamin Demon at the Great escape
@@ion1290
🎢 Rides no good if you don't barficate
Rob Baker cyclone has always been my favorite! Since I was too short to even ride I’d sneak on anyways! Lol
Bro copperhead is extremely forceful
@@diamondjebgold9906 Wow I can’t believe you replied to a 3 year old comment
The age doesn’t matter, it’s the comment that does 😎
Fun Fact: Carolina Goldrusher is the oldest rollercoaster at Carowinds
The Lawl is the *LAWL* and one of the best
Really? I thought it was the Hurler. Hmm!!! That's so cool!
ik
I lost my glasses on Flying Ace. The headbanging was so bad, it snapped the side of my glasses and they fell down to the grass, never to be seen again.
I love your channel and have gotten hooked on the rides. After seeing your review of Hershey’s coasters, I got my parents to take a trip to Pennsylvania. Thank you!
*Welcome to ricochet, the park's 11th roller coaster!*
Oh god the flash bac k s
Cedar Flags lol yeah that gets annoying
oh my god i literally screamed when I saw this
I always ended up thinking why 11 rollercoasters are something to brag about.
I road this once never waist time on it ever again lol
He is crazy tho night hawk is awesome!
fr
Yes! Finally someone who likes that ride
Definitely one of my favorites!
YES!!
It makes me want to shoot my self in the head tbh
I love it! keep up the good videos man :)
nice review. i grew up in the 80s & went to carowinds a dozen times. some random memories include throwing up after riding the oaken bucket 3 times in a row, getting a stiff neck after riding carolina cyclone for the first time & being super nervous, getting stuck halfway through thunder road & the power going off, intentionally getting splashed by rip roaring rapids on hot summer days & riding scooby doo 10 times in a row because i was too short to ride any adult coasters. i remember white lightning scaring the crap out of me & my friends when we were kids & the urban legends about the front car going off the end a few times & dumping people out to their deaths. i finally rode it several times as a teenager & it really wasn't that bad. carowinds will always be part of my childhood & brings fond memories of ragtime music, the smell of popcorn & the sound of roller coasters whooshing by.
Me: looks at title
Also me: we all know what number 1 is.
Knew what 1 and 2 was
Taking everything you said about Carolina Goldrusher, you would really like Adventure Express at Kings Island or River King Mine Train at Six Flags St. Louis (my 2 favorite Arrow Mine Trains)
i been to carowinds and its so much fun im going to the water park at carowinds
Thunder road was hands down my fav, sad to see it gone
I rode all of these and my top three are
3: Nighthawk
2: Fury 325
1: Afterburn
I prefer faster coasters, especially because that was the last one we rode, all the wind cooled us down.
Great video! I love you lists, especially your lists on removed coasters.
I just rode the after burn today with class never opened my eyes
Holy hell I can't believe Fury is a 95 miles per hour steel coaster that's just insane. It looks unbelievable I have to ride this ride before I die
Warning!: on the way up: you gonna be evaluating everything you did wrong with your life. On the way down in the first drop: you life gonna flash before your eyes. Yep. Just be ready. Lol
Arkane Bones lol yea going up that first hill I was just going “I’m gonna die I’m gonna die I’m gonna die I’m gonna die”
So hyped, going here for the first time in about a week
I haven't been to carowinds in awhile... they've added quite a few roller coasters since I've been there definitely going next summer
I went there for my orchestra field trip!It was a blast! My favorite ride was the after burn or fury.
I hope to make it to Carowinds this year. Three of this video's top four coasters weren't even there the last time I went.
I enjoy your top lists...thank you!
I live in Texas and is going to go on a coaster vacation should I go here or SF discovery kingdom? And I will be checking out steel vengeance also
Woodstock express was my first coaster (even though I rode the kings island one) and I really need to go back to kings island now that I’m a enthusiast
Snorted a tiny bit when you got to number 3 and I realized the non-vortex B&Ms were the only ones remaining. Predictable list? Sure, but those opinions are predictable for a reason. All 3 are great coasters.
This is a fantastic review! Do you have anything like this that breaks down the coasters at Dollywood w/such accuracy?
Omg!!!I'm so excited because I just came here!!!! I'm going tomorrow!!!
Leahs Lifestyle
Same I went on it twice IT WAS AWEEEESOME!!! (I'm 9 years old)
Leahs Lifestyle I'm 10 turning 11 on Tuesday October 17th (3 days from now) and I'm going to Carowinds today and I'm gonna ride it I hope it's fun and I don't poop my self lol
Kaidono Gaming, have fun!!!
Kaidono Gaming, make sure to ride the fury 325!
Who else came only for the top 3???😂😂😂
:,)
Coaster Watch im only here because im going to carowinds tomorrow
thelooper 65 lol nice have fun!!
He is dumb
Common More yes. Yes I am dumb
Last time I went to this park was in 2007 and I wanna say all the rides names seemed to have changed. They had Top Gun, The Borg, Carolina Cyclone off the top of my head.
I just went yesterday, favorite ride is Afterburn, can't wait to go back
When I get to go back to carowins like in the future I'm gonna go on 7 of the roller coasters and I've been on like 3 of the roller coasters like the fury 325 and it was fun
Love the fact you got the on-ride photo for the Peanuts kids coaster!
Can you go to Alton towers or Thorpe park in England
Will you do an updated edition?
I have a soft spot for vortex cause it was my first ever "big" coaster ride but yeah it blows hahaha
but Fury is insane
My Top 13
13: Lucy's Krabbie Kabbies (Kiddie Coaster)
12: Ricochet (I thought this was trash, super jerky, rough, and just a piece of garbage)
11: Flying Ace Aerial Chase (Roughest coaster I've ever ridden, it's so painful, and I guess it's a junior SLC LOL)
10: Carolina Goldrusher (I didn't think this was that good, I thought it was boring and bland, and it was kind of rough)
9: Woodstock Express (I surprisingly enjoyed this)
8: Nighthawk (I rode it in the front and it wasn't garbage, but still super bumpy)
7: Carolina Cyclone (I surprisingly thought this was a decent coaster)
6: Hurler (this blew my mind, it was a nice wooden coaster)
5: Vortex (only stand up I've ridden, I got a little head banging, but I enjoyed this)
4: The Flying Cobras (I rode it when it was Carolina Cobra)
3: Afterburn (OMG BEST INVERT EVER!!! It is so intense, it is very smooth, and it's so much fun)
2: Intimidator (this is incredible, the airtime is fantastic, and the whole ride is just amazing, that drop surprisingly made me grey out which shocked me)
1: Fury 325 (my number one coaster as well, it is good in every way, that's all I gotta say LOL)
Great review!
do you think you could do another list about the other rides? carowinds has just *so* much to offer it'd be a shame to never give it credit
(I rode it back when wind seeker was new, so it was still sorta new)
I remember going with my band peoples and it was so fun!
I live near Carowinds and a rode the vortex and it does suck, but was my first upside down coaster
I'm going some time before summer with some friends, and my family, these look fun
The Fury honestly is the best ride ever. My dad owns a fence business and they did all the fencing around the Fury and the newest ride I cant remember the name of it. My dad and the guys that work for him were actually on the second run of the fury that had people on it.
Copperhead strike for the newest ride
I've ridden Nighthawk last year in the FBC, and it was terrible. Maybe you went on a good day but it was so rough I needed to ride Windseeker right after each time to relax my head
This is my home park. I live 10 minutes away. But where would you place Copperhead strike now that it’s open?
I'm from North Carolina, and I have rode almost all of them except the ones for 55 inch people but now I'm tall enough to do the fury
I am getting to get to go there for my first time this summer what do you recommend to do to get on Fury 325
Wonder where you would put copperhead strike? If you've ridden it.
I went to Carowinds in the 1970s and 80s, and the Goldrusher was the only coaster I really liked. Thunder Road was so bumpy I was afraid the track might collapse under me. Goldrusher was a lot smoother.
I didn't even attempt White Lightning. I looked at it and said "Nope!" ;-D
And of all of them, Goldrusher is the one which is still there, after all these years. Cool.
I went yesterday for the first time and I will go again in like 1-3 years I think
I was on the Carolina Goldrusher and the Hurler. Also some other rides but they were not roller coasters. My sister went on the Slingshot though
Btw I through the Hurler was INTENSE. It felt like a earthquake for me.
I’m glad I didn’t go on the fury.
Afterburn is my fave!!💞 I have rode Afterburn, Intimidator, and Fury 😇💛
I haven't rode after burn but when you said "montu" i was like oh yeah! that's my favorite b&m invert i have ever rode and the only b&m invert i have ever rode
Well it sure is a GREAT B&M invert to ride! Montu looks fucking awesome
Carowinds is my hometown theme park, and I agree for the most part. My favorite coaster is the Goldrusher, it's not too thrilling but still really fun!
Afterburn is definitely my favorite steel coaster there
Afterburn (Which will always be called Top Gun in my heart) was better when it had a tunnel.
It still has a tunnel lol
I just came to the realization that the Carolina Cobra was re-painted and re-themed last year in 2017.
I'm going to Carowinds for my first time in a few weeks. Does anyone have a guide or tips for getting every ride done?
I've been a season pass holder at Carowinds for the past decade and I've just become an employee, so I can help you there. (Please note, this is only going to be a guide to hit all the coasters, because if I try to include every flat ride as well, we'll be there all day. You'll hit most, if not all the flats if you go along the path I'm creating for you.)
First, get to Nighthawk as soon as the park opens if you want the credit. Otherwise the line will be at least 45+ minutes long due to the long load/unload times and in my opinion, the ride isn't worth the wait. (I'm actually very surprised he didn't mention the long wait time in the video, but that was probably just because he focused on the coasters themselves rather than other elements such as wait times.)
Second, ride the Intimidator after Nighthawk.
Try to find me if you can, I'm a lifeguard at Carolina Harbor.)
*PLEASE NOTE* I would highly recommend that you ride the new flat rides in the County Fair section if you have time and it's not busy.
(As I'm sure you've noticed by now, several of the coasters are placed in pairs right next to each other for easy access.)
Eleventh, take a left out of Cyclone and you'll see Hurler.
It'll help.)
Congratulations!!
I'm so excited
Edit: every time I go I ride the Woodstock Express and one year my dad's hat flew off xD also when riding the Intermediater I couldn't even sit back! Everyone thought I fell asleep...
Are you going to do a review for Fury 325
My dad and sister begged me to ride the Vortex once. Once done, my crotch and stomach was hurting bad. I threw up and had to lay down in the brick planters for about 30 minutes while Mom and Dad argued for the rest of the trip about who's fault it was and should they take me home.
We never went on that stand up ride again.
Surprisingly, I actually have a good tolerance for certain roller coasters. I went on fury 325 without greying out at all, so I dont know why I got sick on the vortex. Maybe it was my nerves combined with the roughness? IDK.
😁😁😁😁😁
People who barficate after a ride are hilarious
Lets goooo montu!!!
The word Gigacoaster sends chills down my spine for no reason..
You really gotta go to cedar point! You'll be so blown away.
My first ride on fury was in the back, and it was weak. But I tried the front later that day and it was so much better. (But still not as good as the voyage, diamondback)
back row best row
hey i love Richoet its so fun!!! All of these are my favorite rides and thats ofeesnsive
The Afterburn is my FAVORITE. I've ridden it like 100 times man
Gilana Sims it was the first coaster i ever rode at carowinds
the best looking relocated coaster for me is inFusion. it's really nice looking
Let’s goooo! My hometown amusement park!
Can you update this with copperhead strike?
You know arrow loopers are bad when a KIDDY COASTER is higher than it
Copperhead strike is Carowinds best investment yet!! i rode that thing it is as smooth as a baby's bottom.
