My child psychology teacher in high school was a huge KISS fan, and was from Detroit. I would skip lunch and talk to him about KISS, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Deep Purple, Iron maiden, Led Zeppelin, and UFO. He was by far the coolest dude I've ever known in my life.
I have deep discussions with my university students about growing up in Detroit and the social and Rock scene there in the 70's and 80's. I have realized that I have led a very uncommon life and am quite grateful to still be here to tell about it.

My mom hated them. My dad was cool with it. She likes them now because she watched Gene's reality show and she got to see that he really is a human being and not some fire breathing demon..

During the Second World War Detroit went from making automobiles to making tanks, guns, ammunition, planes, jeeps, amphibious vehicles etc. But Detroit played a really huge role in World War 2! There's other things Detroit is known besides just shootings!!! If it wasn't for Detroit we would have lost or wouldn't have been able to have the tools to fight the war!!
They wrote this song to honour a fan who was killed in a crash on his way to a show in the original you hear the guy having a meal and listening to the news and the news caster is the demon himself a young gene Simmons.
This reunion tour was the best ever in the history of rock and roll! when they came back , and all of the original fans from the 70s had kids and brought them to see what we grew up on! and they lived it..., not to mention,the band was pumped up to do it. The 4 original members have a certain magical sound when they perform!
I really swoon over Paul's singing; he still got it after all these years. The way he beat his chest during this song and swung to the crowd during his "Love Gun" performance made me think he's like a modern-day Tarzan. What a guy! ❤❤❤
