Ground in C minor, Z. D221 (William Croft, 1678-1727) is attributed to Henry Purcell, but they're different pieces. Croft based his ground on Purcell's (Z. T681).
It is not very likely that Purcell based his work on Croft. Purcell published his Éditions de Grounds (Z T681) ca 1686, when Croft was still 7 years old, and Crofts work was published (copyed) the first time about 1700, 5 years after Purcell died.
Purcell inspira a Croft. Exquisita composicion, exquisito sonido el del instrumento, etéreo... es la base de una coreografía sin duda y sé quién lo haría... lo veo en Paris a diario.
Jorge Avalos It comes from the original handwriting autograph manuscript by Henry Purcell himself (MS mus 653) preserved at the Fitzwilliam Museum of Cambridge (Ground ZD221 or ZT681). imslp.org/wiki/Ground_in_C_minor,_ZD_221_%28Purcell,_Henry%29

doesn`t this masterpiece belong to H. Purcell?
It's also attributed to Purcell by some, but mostly to Croft-Ground.
