🎮 ABOUT THE GAME 🎮
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is a tactical role-playing game developed by Intelligent Systems, and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance handheld video game console in 2004 for Japan and 2005 in the West. It is the eighth entry in the Fire Emblem series, the second to be released outside Japan, and the third and final title to be developed for the Game Boy Advance after The Binding Blade and its prequel Fire Emblem.
Set in a separate continuity to earlier Fire Emblem titles, The Sacred Stones takes place on the fictional continent of Magvel, which is divided into five nations, each built around a magical stone said to be linked to the imprisonment of an ancient demon. When one of the five nations, the Grado Empire, invades its neighbors and begins destroying the stones, protagonists Eirika and Ephraim of the royal family of Renais set out to gather allies and halt Grado's conquest, while also trying to uncover the reasons for the war. @@kratosmvn_ Myrrh's class counts as a monster class, so can use some monster weapons if you get them through the enemy control glitch, so Myrrh probably COULD have done it with less if those were on the table

I remember as a child on vacation I had a lot of fun using the Mine glitch to give Myrrh monster weapons.
I understand that, if I would have known about that glitch as a kid I would have abused it for sure lol.

I would probably recommend sprinkling in some runs that you know would be easy like for example Dussel to make sure things don't get too tedious. Probably not needed to be said as I'm sure someone who is actually doing this stuff for UA-cam probably already would know it, but still felt I should mention it just in case. Wouldn't want you to get burned out after all.
Granted if you ever truly did get burnt out I suppose you could always try a run in a different game.

This was such an interesting take on the format lol... Of course its a special case because with the dragon stone bonuses I doubt many characters can compare to her without being maxed out and with bonus items, but a special edition is special nonetheless :) here's for many more subs in the coming year!

Technically, Myrrh's class is a monster class, so she can use some normally enemy only weapons... If there was a way to get them (Enemy Control Glitch?)

@@kratosmvn_Would love to see a run of this using glitches to pick up monster weapons, actually! IIRC the very first monster map has a snag tile that enables it (albeit with tighter timing than mines or lava tiles), so you could get a rotten claw or similar pretty early.
Couldn't you send the dragonstones to the convoy on turns where you can afford to let yourself be attacked without counter-attacking? It definitely makes her a lot more vulnerable on EP without the defensive boosts, but she does cap defense pretty early so it would probably have saved a good number of uses on a lot of the earlier maps.

So I went through a little bit and we could have saved a few uses early on this way for sure. The one problem is that it doesn't save uses on the problematic maps where a lot of swarming happens, but we could have saved some more uses early on for sure.

One annoying way to use less would be to unequip the dragonstone on maps/turns where you don't get surrounded by enemies. For example at 7:43 you could have avoided 1 usage.

Love it! Now here's a challenge I thought of while watching this. Beat the game without classing up your character, they have to be in their base class (Can't do Seth or Duessel who are already in their top tier for example)

So, turns out you didn't need to go through the trouble of putting her in Ephraim's route. Eirika's was better.
Also, an idea to lower the number: Save your stones that are about to run out. Like against Morva, if you had taken him out with a 1- or 2-hit stone that broke on him, then everyone who attacked you afterward wouldn't have consumed a use, and then you could claim the throne.
Love the content! I'd be curious to see a Syrene run, since she'd kinda be similar to Dozla--easy early game, but maybe more difficult in the endgame?

Growing up, I never used her just because she had the one stone to use. If she ever had a second one, that would have made her so much more viable. Such is life for dragon/beast characters.

I came up with the idea of an edit where you were locked to the one dragonstone for the main game, but you could buy them in the Creature Campaign. My friend made it for me, and now I'm playing the game like that. :p

As an idea it would be cool to see an antagonist solo run, like lets say, a Caellach solo run, starting as a mercenary and using the same stat growths he has as unlockable character

I'm currently playing sacred stone
I'm at the chapter against Lyon and I was exiting to see Myrrh gameplay but the hp number scared me and the limited dragon stone number make me even more worried (I don't bring child soldier if they haven't much HP)
I'm a bit surprise.
Myrrh seems weak from her stats, but the dragonstone really help paired with her growth she is lowkey one of the best tanks in the game.

Before weapons became unbreakable Fire Emblem only gave you manaketes in the last leg of the game, specifically because they can be a crutch in the final battles but you can only use them so much.

well, i hope my two ideas help!
This is borderline glitching, but I think there is a hard cap of 50 enemies spawned at any one time, so on the desert map I think you can unequip the dragon stone, wait past all the reinforcement turns. Bending the rules a bit since you have other characters on the map who will likely be targeted which isn't ideal, but if you add that in with reinforcement blocking and a bit more conservative on earlier maps, I think you can save the 7th stone.

there argubaly a pretty simple way to save quit a lot of dragon stone. by using mutible stones right form the start you could set up stone uses in such a way that you don kill a lot of enemies after killing the boss. for example a 6? use dragonstone would also clear the morva map but with a higher use one you end up buring like 5 charges more. basically you would need to make a chart of everychapter how many stones are requied and how many you waste after the boss kill( Basically this is only relevant in size gate maps as most of the time in thone maps the enemym will just block the size point anyway. ) then you should be able to find routs that can slash down quit a few uses. actually come to think about it i think the mova map might be the only one this applys to. chapter 2 and 7 are obviously impossilbe to do it like that. also block the boss from spawning at the ghost ship map not sure if any other reinforcements are blockable if so do that as well. so i guess optmiesed run save 6 more uses bar simply grinding on more crits.
maby chapter 10 ephrim rout can be done a disarming her.

a interesting run. Aside from Lyon and Draco zombies. Myrrh kinda steamrolls most of the game.
funny enough. this is the one type of run where you can be happy Myrrh does not have 1/2 range on her dragon stone. The only other saves in dragon stone uses i might see is Myrrh unequipping it in situations where she faces enemies she can't avoid but might evade by movement next turn.
Yeah, it's one of the rare runs where no counter attack option at range is beneficial LOL
I know it's a blessing for this run, but I wish dragonstones were 1-2 range like in Awakening. Like c'mon, you become a freakin fire breathing dragon

To lower the usages for some of the seize maps, you could save some stones that have 1 or 2 uses so that you stone breaks when you kill the boss. then the othe near by units cant be killed.

I would be super interested if someone did a Myrrh run but only using monster weapons, since Myrrh counts as a monster in these games. I wonder how feasible she would be without the crazy stat bonuses of the Dragonstone?
I think it'd still be doable but A LOT harder and you'd have to be very smart about how to use that Dragonstone and when!

I just thought about something another commenter brought up.
Enemy Control Glitch.
Now, I'm not well-versed enough to know how exactly this works, but Myrrh's class counts as a monster class, which means she has access to monster weapons such as Rotten Claw, Fetid Claw, Fiery Fang, Hellfang, among others.
As far as I know, the earliest a Monster Weapon shows up is in Ch4, and by that point, you haven't broken a Dragonstone yet. So theoretically, in an ideal world, you could get a Rotten Claw there, and try to get through the rest of the game using just claws and fangs, saving the last uses of Dragonstone for important targets like Fomortiis. Again, I don't exactly know how the glitch works, nor do I know if it even works on Ch4 at all. Just putting it out there.
That said, in this sense, if you're able to get a monster weapon on ch4, it might be possible to solo the game with Myrrh without the need of extra dragonstones. But it might skirt the line of the "No Cheats/Exploits" rule you have set up. So either way, it'd still have to be done with an asterisk to its name.
The reason I didn't use the enemy control glitch is because I consider it to be an exploit. So it goes against my self imposed rules.
Can't you block some enemies from spawning in Phantom Ship by standing on a water tile on the left? Also, I thought you'd abuse the 50 unit limit to cancel reinforcement waves. But then again, most of those maps aren't route maps so I guess going fast is better. The desert map though could have been done with unequipping the dragonstone to wait out the reinforcement waves, I think.

I wonder if on some of these maps if you could have used the other units as bait to get the enemy out of position so Myrrh could swoop past them? With no weapons they would just pull agro and Seth might be able to do it without dying at least for the first half of the game.
I don't like using other units in these solo runs. Kind of beats the purpose of only using a single character.
You could have theoretically saved a few uses over time on the kill boss/sieze throne maps by putting the stone in the convoy until you reach the boss itself, so that any enemy you ran into on the way to the boss wouldnt waste a use on counter attacks.
I'm not sure if it will be enough to shave off a full extra dragonstone, but being able to have enemies target you without being countered could be helpful.
I looked into it and it does come in useful early on in the first few maps to save a couple of uses, but as the game goes on it becomes not that useful because you'll find yourself mostly surrounded, but it can help shave off a couple of uses.

You could give her a fetid claw or fiery fang. Only one weak monster weapon (no wretched air or something like that) and one dragonstone. Think that would be a challenge, but maybe still easy

On ghost ship, could you have rigged it so that Dozla takes out as many enemies as is able to before his weapon breaks?
I'm not sure what you mean by rigged, but I did try to have him attack as many enemies as possible, but the evil eyes just damage him for far too much for him to survive long.
SS is my favorite FE because I liked stealing enemy weapons that I'm not supposed to have and giving them to Myrrh.

I didn't remember the massive stat boosts from dragonstones. I thought it was like 5 defense and resistance. Holy cow. I must be remembering the boosts from Fates, Awakening or New Mystery of the Emblem. Dear god she basically starts with a holy weapon...on crack.

Doesn't increasing constitution decrease your aid score? I know it does that for Pegasus Knights at least. The unmounted unit aid formula is different, though, and I guess that Myrrh is considered unmounted even though she's also classified as a flying unit?
She considered unmounted so the aid formula still doesn't work here.
Did I miss you banning convoy? Because you could have stored the stone in there vs melee enemies to save uses if you could survive without the bonuses.

The best way to minimize Myrrh's dragonstone usage is to bench her.
Honestly i would love if you went ephraim route simple because we've never seen it.
Do you think it would make any difference if you stoppes for the skill book and draco shield in ch 5 or the enery ring/ speed wing ewan and amelia have? Maube not the speed wing. You capped speed anyways. Or the Angelic robes?
It would only make me fight more enemies if I stopped for those. However it does make the run a tiny bit easier in terms of the final battle since it becomes a little more consistent

It's fixed, but we'll keep going Eirika route only for other runs to continue the tierlist and keep each run equivalent to one another.

you could have used enemy control on ch.18. Myrrh can use EVERY monster weapon, including claws and teeth. On Lv20 she's strong enough to fight most generic enemies with them, instead of using the dragon stone
The enemy control glitch is an exploit therefore it goes against the self imposed rules of no cheats or exploits.
@@kratosmvn_ same could be argued about hacking in additional Dragonstone. The whole point of Myrrh needing 8-9 Stones makes the run invalid by itself anyway

It's not to cheat my way to reduce the amount of dragonstone, it's to see how many dragonstones it would take to beat the game by herself if they were readily available. I very clearly mention at the start that the run doesn't work in a vanilla version where I don't change anything and I also mention at the end that Myrrh is not tallied into the ranking like other characters because technically the run would have ended at chapter 8.
