For anyone watching this do not hit a live primer with a hammer. If you want to remove the primer press it out doing it this way is a good way to hurt your self.
I've never had a problem doing this, you hit the side that the pin doesn't hit, and you use a large screwdriver. Plus primers aren't the very dangerous part, the powder is.
I agree. I doubt this is in anyway to be truly dangerous. Even in a chamber of a 12 ga with an 18 inc barrel the primer doesn't produce but around 8 psi. More likely to pop and scare you when driving them out. But mechanical injury is a low risk with this method.
FOR ANYONE WATCHING THIS!!!!!! I was depriming a 12 gauge bird shot and i used this method (this was about 10-20 minutes ago) and when i done exactly this it set the primer off and luckily there was no powder left if it as it almost burned my hand Lesson NEVER TRUST THIS GUY
@Adam Teed you are an inexperienced clumsy ammo maniac ! Use at least one wooden or plastic rod with a larger diameter than the diameter of the primer! good luck selfish, hope you don't lose both your eyes!
Videos like this take eyes and fingers. Dumb! Want to use a shotgun shell for crafts. Use an already shot one and run it through a tumbler to clean it up. Do not do this!!! UA-cam should take this video down as a safety violation!
Attempting to do this could result in injury, please do not attempt, if you do attempt to try this and get injured that’s on you, TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK
Completely insane methode
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result...
Tried this with a .410 and the primer went off and now I can hardly hear 😹

@@adamteed5832 a primer going off can and will still remove a good sized chunk of finger. Speaking from experience unfortunately
a little too late
Do it all the time. Now I just want to discharge it and I’m afraid I’ll put an eye out if I hit it with a hammer.
DO NOT DO THIS!!! Primers explode on impact! That is how they work. Hitting a live primer with a hammer is how you loose fingers and eyes!
Lmao, you think a primer is going to blow fingers off? They are about as explosive as a weak firecracker man.
Yeah. I’m doing this to a box of old shot shells just so I can shoot my in-line. Can’t find primers for sale anywhere.
same.. f in joke
If you combine this is black powder you'd feel like a Fallout character
when are you going to upload people love your videos!!

It says right in the description to try at your own risk
Awesome. Thank you very much. though im depriming dead primers and not live, wouldn't try this on anything but an already fired/dis charged primer.
Attention Darwin...
i plan on making some art with shotfun shells so thank you
You're welcome
That's different, never thought about making art with them.
Also you can find tons of shells at places where they do trap and skeet
I appreciate the video! I bought a car with a lot of unused ammunition in the back seat and I've been wondering how to break it down safely.
You could have just scalped the shit iut of that ammo
@@skeletonbuyingpealts7134 I did 😂
@@Lykaotix nice
You can also just use a screwdriver and hold the shell in your hand, but that feels less badass

Going to make a key ring thank god I looked it up bc I was about to hit it with a hammer 😂
was this a live primer i know this is a stupid question considering there was no mark but i want to know if it’s safe.

This guy is a fool. When one of these primers goes off (I know from experience) he will remove this video!!!
😂😭
