One day at a time brother. I’m 47, a coin collector, pm stacker and got sober 4/12/20. Collecting and stacking has drastically improved being sober. :)
4 years for me this past Sept. Keep up the good work. I've recently been searching boxes of nickels. I keep anything older than 1960 when I go through the boxes. I used to keep 1964 and older but like you I find 100's of the 1964's. It's crazy how many are out there. Anyway, I'm trying to fill one of those planters peanut jars you can pick up from the store that are square. They can hold a lot.
For 25+ years, when I return home with some change in my pockets, I always separate it into pre82 pennies, and ANY nickel. It IS a forced savings account, IMO. TY for sharing an excellent idea to hoard valuable stuff instead of hangovers and expensive excrement.
Good for you brother. Do what you have to do and what works for you. For me its buying evey 2 dollar bill, star notes, 1 dollar coin that comes through the convenience store where I work. If I get the urge to spend I see these bills and coins and it reminds me why I bought them in the first place.
Congrats on nearly 3 years sober. That's a huge accomplishment. Looks like you got some nice pickups....Constitutional Silver makes up fully 50% of my overall Silver stack. I don't stack Copper pennies or Nickels, but I do passively collect all pre-'82 Copper pennies and all old Jefferson/Montecello design from 2003 and before. I probably have 150 lbs of pennies, and around 100 lbs of Nickels. Each of those coins is worth more than their face value in the metals they are composed of. In the future, they will only grow in value and my having them will only give me options. Welcome aboard the sobriety and financial freedom train!
Cool video! I enjoy stacking Morgan dollars too for the same reason. I’ve been stacking American gold Buffalos now that I’m debt free and no longer drink either, congratulations on your sobriety man!
As far as nickels, while I look for buffalos, war nickels, 2009/2024s, errors and the ever-elusive 1950 D (I still do not have one), I did save up one roll of each mint and year. That gives me a small "savings account" if I ever need it. And yes, 1964 is the most common nickel minted.
You made some great observations on one of my favorite coins. Nickels. I like both the war nickels and non war nickels. Have not found any 2024's yet. Seems you hit the jackpot on that.
Ha, that is funny. I use CRH and coin collecting as a way to augment my sobriety as well. I'd rather buy a few boxes of coins from the bank and go through them, then waste that money at a bar on alcohol and women. I get to do something I like and what I don't keep, I can get more of what I like!

Coin shop Chris sent me, one day at a time. Sweet Jesus, Keep Stackin Bro

@@marquestreasures I didn't know about the 1950 D. I will have to look into what's special about that coin.
@SobrietyAndSilver it's the least minted nickel ever and super rare. It's the holy Grail of nickel hunting.
I will absolutely be looking for that now. Thank You @@marquestreasures

@@tonyalba790 Yep I wish I could find a full roll of 2024.
Really proud of you!!
I been saving all nickels since 2006. They are cupro nickel trade units. 75% copper 25% nickel. Also the 1942-45 are silver blend trade units.
Nicely put. Trade units indeed.

Coin shop Chris was here
Clon?
See ya in the basement. Keep on stackin! TY
I have a jar of nickel, dime, penny. Everytime I break a dollar.I save the change. The only ones I like are the WW II silver ones.
@@jamesmurray8558 check the dimes and quarters for 1964 and earlier. 90% silver
Last time i went to a coin shop i picked up 2 canadian nickles and a canadian quarter for 50 cents they are 99% nickle
Should also mention the silver to nickle ratio is about 60. So like 60 grams of nickle would be worth a gram of silver
Very nice 💯 new friend and Sub here 👍
