- Picked up a KastKing Compass telescopic rod to try out as a potential traveling rod. It’s a 6’ medium spinning rod that I paired up with the Bass Pro Shop Micro Lite Elite spinning reel. The Rod retails for $29.99 at most retailers. Fishing the Ned rig and caught a few bass.
Wow, I have the exact same rod and so far no problems. Hmm you should contact Kastking and show them this video.
You set the hook like a madman, of course the rod is going to break
Yah pretty obvious this man hasn't fished with a moderate action rod at all, you can't set the hook that that hard with them, same with ultralights
Good vid. Man, That’s hard to believe. I have two KastKing Brutus Bait Casting Poles that are rugged & work great. Recommend contacting KastKing so they can replace and try again.
Yeah, couldn’t believe it broke that fast and easy. It was only a little over $20, so I just cut my losses.
Ihad 2 Kast King telescopic rods, BOTH BROKE, NO REFUND I NOW HAVE DAIWA , GOOD PRODUCT
That hole at the bottom is for hook storage, etc.
Try GOTURE I been using mine for 3.5 years now and catch fish upto 25lb (sea fishing) and never had any issues at all..... so good infact I brought 2 more (different sizes and models) and they also perform great even with big fish..... cheers bro
That one under 30$?
Been looking for a good telescopic rod for travel. How is the Kastking work for saltwater? I want to do mainly inshore fishing but not surf.
Well I wouldn’t recommend this one. 😂
Hey bro which size reel are you using ?
i need something that fits in my backpack as the only time i get to fish is at my university (I'm in a desert, the only water is at my uni) unfortunately out of the telescoping rods that can fit in that small of a space, this is the best option. All of the other telescoping rods are worse
Looks like you got a rod that was damaged . Send it back.
Dang man,I'm a huge fan of kastking but I never got any telescopic from them....I know their 2 piece casting and spinning combos are great but I spent $60-$80 dollars on my combos
I wasn’t expecting too much from a $20 rod. I just figured it would last longer than an hour. Lol
man i dont even wanna buy a pole i been using old ass rods lmao
this is gold haha
So what do you recommend?
I’m not sure if I would buy it again. It could have been a fluke breaking like that, but I’m not sure. There are a lot of collapsible rods in the same price range that I would maybe give a shot.
Did you reach out to kastking? Did they replace it for you?
No, it only cost me around $25 for the rod so I just chalked it up as a loss.
@@badgeroutdoors1860 Agree the money is no big deal. I was more curious if they were responsive.
this is why i prefered blackhawk than compass. hahaha
Ok, I’ll have to check that one out.
w t h kastking wasting money again if i buy
This type of American fishing has a lot in common with sea fishing, not much skill required, just cast and hope. 🥸
🤔
@@badgeroutdoors1860 Try float fishing, now that takes skill 😄
American fishing? What kind of fishing do you do, exactly?
@@iceman5117 Angling, float fishing.
@@venenareligioest410 I don't think you know what you're talking about here, my friend. He's angling in the video, and float fishing on still water is the definition of casting and hoping.
