Thanks for the review... been very excited to see them for myself. I appreciate you giving some perspective so I have realistic expectations! Keep up the great work! BTW how do you like flying the Chopper in the Motion Rig?
I have watched several videos on the new Pimax wide field of view lenses but not one of them talk about those who already have prescription lenses. Do we need to purchase new prescription lenses or will our existing ones still fit on these wide field of view lenses?
I can imagine what you are saying regarding the fr left/right blur. I’m wearing glasses so I’m kind of used to the fact I can’t see anything far left/right anyway LOL. I agree with you that it will not be an issue. The only thing what would matter to me is getting rid of the toiletrol feel like with the G2 I have right now. By the way. When talking about immersion…. DCS is awesome in the cockpit and air to air but…..darn what is it bad on ground level, it really looks like crap those roads, buildings and ground surface
I had to have my retina re attached. One eye is near-sighted and the other farsighted. The brain has caused me not to realize the differences in eye focus. I do not wear glasses as time unfolds I do not notice what eye is doing what. I stopped wearing glasses as my brain adapted to the differences so well. Will get the FOV lenses when they become available. The brain is an amazing organ and the body adapts to accommodate situations.
Super review, thank you very much. Im on the fence for a Crystal. Was waiting for the "wide-view-lenses". But: Is the fov in this video what you see in the headset? Im on a 8KX and if this is the case how can this be called "wide-view". That is not even 120 degrees. Hope im wrong.
No it is not. I have to crop the crap out of the image to make it video friendly lol!! Also I too have the 8kx and I will tell you it still has a slightly wider fov but with the new lenses for me.. it comes close enough that I'm happy
This is what's stopping me from getting Pimax. They don't list the lenses for sale on their web since I have the Varjo Aero and that is the one thing that would make a difference
I would like that larger FOV, but I love how my Varjo turns on every night 100% of the time. No "headset not detected" garbage. I heard the pimax does that from time to time. My G2 did that at least once a week and I was happy to give that POS away.
My Varjo Aero has issues detecting the HMD every other time. It seems to be the USB that goes into the motherboard because a fix is taking it out, and slowly putting it back into my X670E Hero mobo. I have honestly had better connectivity with my Pimax Crystal than the Aero. Both are phenomenal HMD's but the Crystal is on another level.
@@farmertrueVR are you on the latest bios. Amds newest chipsets have some USB quirks that need to be fixed. My brother returned a B550 due to constant USB drops.
@@FunktasticLucky I am on BIOS version 1905 for the X670E Hero. Not sure if it's the newest but it's within the last few months. I've not had issues with other USB devices other than VR but it has been that way for many BIOS versions before this as well.

Do the wide lenses support eye tracking and dfr?
Yes they have the IR sensors in them. You good to go

I used to say the same thing about my G2. It was like looking through 2 toilet paper rolls.

because they don't have the supply for them yet. They are still filling the preorder obligations. Then they will list them on the site for sale.

nah the annoying thing right now is that the headset keeps turning itself back on so you have to pull the battery LOL.
