This is awesome, cheers you guys for acknowledging my suggestion. There was alot of crap Britpop stuff, same as there was lot of crap grunge, but these guys are legit. Looking forward to the next one 👌
I saw Shed Seven supporting Inspiral Carpets in Manchester with some mates when I was at Uni. I was that wasted that I didn’t recall that I had heard their first album. For months after I kept singing songs on the radio, wondering how I knew the words. I had great recall of the songs and the lyrics, just no frame of reference. Don’t do drugs, kids!
So glad you did this. Shed Seven were possibly my favourite band of the era, but like a lot of Bands were overshadowed by the whole Oasis vs Blur thing. They have amazing heavier tracks, love to see Dave react to Speakeasy, Dolphin, Where have you been tonight and Bully Boy . They are touring again, saw them back in the 90s and recently, still brilliant 🤩
I met Shed Seven last week doing a promo for their new album which is really good! They did an acoustic version of Chasing Rainbows for the 70 or so people in the tiny record shop.
@@samechick A quick update on Sheds. They are about to release a new version of this track, the Liquid Gold version, and I'm meeting the band again this weekend, hopefully for a beer! I'd recommend giving Waiting For The Catch (ft Issy Ferris) a listen for a future vid too.
They original version doesn't do it justice.. it's even more epic live and will always finish their gigs.. They still alive and kicking. They just released new single called " talk of the town" ..
Since you are delving in to the cult bands another one to consider is Kula Shaker. Songs like "Hush" and "Hey Dude" were common College songs in my time.
Suede- Dog Man Star was my favourite album from this era. Criticised for being poorly produced, but I thought that was the sound they were going for🤷♂️

lot of bands we could put in here then? I wanna slam in some Seahores or Lightnng Seeds.

I am a fellow drummer by the way. I always watch your reaction videos when I am at work eating my dinner. I love your stuff!
The drummer of Shed Seven was the DJ at my wedding!!

Great York-based band, love Dave's reaction....!
Another suggestion for a 'britpop' band is the criminally underrated Cast. Check out Live the dream

Britpop had great bands. Oasis, Blur, The Verve, Supergrass, manic street preachers, Charlatans, Pulp, Suede, Ocean Colour Scene, etc..
Hmm maybe I should make a Brit Pop playlist because he's reacted to a a few of these bands.
@@samechick nice one. most have their own 'biggest hits' one of the big bands I missed off was Stereophonics too.

RE they also covered "Ballad of a thin Man" Origionally by Bob Dylan
Being annoying now now doubt lol but Ash was also another product of the time.
@@Tracertravis I saw them at Glastonbury, I think just before Goldie looking chain .might've been just after, not sure.
BRITPOP .....rabbithole initialised.

A more modern version of this sort of music is Catfish and the Bottlemen, songs like 4all are great
You should check out some Longpigs after this, songs like Lost Myself would go down well I think!
Oh wow, im late to this, i hope it went OK, this band I love, but im a straight man, and this song, is about...
