I’ve been following the guys on Weverse & Twitter for a while now and so I am getting to see the interviews and hints that are dropped before the actual music videos/ albums are dropped… First there was a little explanation by a Korean army of how the usual hangul for Firework was one type of symbol whereas he had combined the symbols for flower and fire together to make flowerwork ,and they linked it to his love of “Namjooning“ which is defined as the need to go off into the countryside for a hike and clear your head, get out of the city for a bit and just enjoy either cycling or walking and being in the fresh air. For this reason armies have planted forests in RM’s name and try to stick to gifts for him that are to do with the environment. It’s suggested that rather than a firework which burns out quickly lighting up the sky and then fading into smoke, he wanted to use the analogy of a flowerwork ; a flower that is connected to millions of other life forms under the soil and even if the particular flower withers away another one will come up in the spring after the cold winter. There are more layers here of course, as you correctly suggested the idea of the military service looming and the fast treadmill of pushing out many albums over the nine years and finally needing a proper break has caught up with them all; this is RM‘s answer to how he’s been feeling… sure some of the others will show this as time goes on, I think Nam-joon has felt particularly pressured as the leader of the group and the main translator so he has worked harder, especially when they travel. Namjoon's honesty really translates through his songs and lyrics ! He also said that he wanted to share his story in a way that feels universal, so that the listeners can resonate like you and me. I don't think he thought about the military while making this album because he said it was supposed to be a reflection of his twenties ! And he loves that we can have our own interpretations. He said a lot about every song if you're interested. I can't wait for you to listen to his album!! This sudden fame came at a fast pace, they wanted to take a break in 2020 after the Mots 7 album but pandemic happened. Then they released dynamite, butter which were HUGE. They brought them some insane exposure. And understandibaly, that overwhelmed them. But one thing is that whenever they are asked this question that would they want to change anything from their past, they all say No. Even rm said that this version of universe out of all the possible versions is the best and he wouldn't want yo trade it ever.

I always need to soak in the visuals and their meaning for a few viewings before I even get to the lyrics. i dont think its related to military at all. he's been working on this song since 2015. his whole album represents his 20s. this song i think talks about struggles of ordinary kim namjoon and superstar rm during their success and pressure and expectations/critisms of public and behind all that his life as namjoon was also drifting apart. i think for the longest time they all wanted to rest i mean it came to a point in 2018 that they considered disbanding bcos everything was just too much for them to handle. theyve also never considered themselves as celebrities or above anyone but they've still reached this unthinkable status. (let's be real fame itself can rly make anyone lose their identity, personally i dont anyone should be famour or have power in our society. we're merely humans we aren't gods.) also like what they said in festa, they all started this bcos of their love for music and they wanted to tell their stories, yoongi said they were just squeezing anything left in them and it's painful process. all members have personal goals but they have compromised and sacrificed themselves for the sake of the team... i just rly hope that whatever decision they make in the future i hope it's genuine and theyre not pressured or burdened

i dont think its related to military at all. he's been working on this song since 2015. his whole album represents his 20s. this song i think talks about struggles of ordinary kim namjoon and superstar rm during their success and pressure and expectations/critisms of public and behind all that his life as namjoon was also drifting apart. i think for the longest time they all wanted to rest i mean it came to a point in 2018 that they considered disbanding bcos everything was just too much for them to handle. theyve also never considered themselves as celebrities or above anyone but they've still reached this unthinkable status. (let's be real fame itself can rly make anyone lose their identity, personally i dont anyone should be famour or have power in our society. we're merely humans we aren't gods.) also like what they said in festa, they all started this bcos of their love for music and they wanted to tell their stories, yoongi said they were just squeezing anything left in them and it's painful process. all members have personal goals but they have compromised and sacrificed themselves for the sake of the team... i just rly hope that whatever decision they make in the future i hope it's genuine and theyre not pressured or burdened
