It's definitely a part of the American mindset that a people of a country are distinct from their government, and we don't blame people for their government.
I know some countries don't have that, and have trouble with the idea that Americans dislike their government and thus assume they're disliked. . .but we seriously don't hold it against a people just because their government is awful.
Most Americans either dislike the American government, or have disliked it in the past under a previous administration, so we generally understand that what a government does is loosely connected (at best) to what the people want, even in a democracy. In non-democratic countries we pretty much presume the people there don't like their own government so we just quietly assume many of them would agree with us in disliking their government, and we certainly don't dislike them along with their government.

Out in the country, it's nearly a civic duty to be armed. Law enforcement isn't intended to be anyone's personal bodyguards. I've also found that the old addage "an armed society is a polite society" rings true in locations where a large segment of the population is legally packing.

On the topic of guns, I just want to say that a gun is just a tool. As you observed, you have to look at the person. With the number of guns owned by private citizens being either close to or actually superceding the number of people in the US, you find that the percentage of people killed by guns ,due to being shot by someone else, is not very high, especially when you consider that the statistics also include people who die by their own hands, and accidents. What happens is that when gun ownership is banned, criminals or people who want to hatm someone will simply find another "tool" to use. And, with the majority of people, not living next door to a police station, it can take anywhere from a couple of minutes to as many as over 30 minutes in rural areas for the police to arrive, giving the attacker lots of time to harm someone. The vast majority of gun owners are law-abiding and honorable people who will only use a gun on someone else only to save either their own or someone else's life. Love your videos , keep them coming, and we would certainly welcome you when you come visit and enjoy our food.

Your comment is factually accurate. There are two other things that some don't take into consideration. The first is that most of the gun-crime occurs in urban areas and are often spurred on by gang-related activities and drugs. Remove the urban violence aspect and the statistics will change dramatically.
The second is as you pointed out, criminals do not abide by any "bans" (haven't drugs been banned for a while, for example?) and with the incredible surplus of firearms on the black market, they will always have a supply of firearms to acquire for their nefarous ventures while only the law-abiding remain unarmed.

That graph is counting suicides, lawful gun deaths (police action-self defense) and accidental deaths. Note how the name of it is carefully worded… it doesn’t say murders… homicide means all deaths by firearms. It also compares statistics from other countries who report gun crimes differently than we do… finally, I have never heard a gun go off in anger, but worrying about gun crime and riding a motorcycle in that traffic without a helmet… is a typical stupid reaction to real threats. Don’t commit a crime, don’t deal drugs, don’t join a gang…and you’ll die from crashing that bike, and never once hear a gun go off in anger.

I started working when I was seven years old, to earn money to buy school clothes and school supplies, if I didn't work, I didn't get new clothes or supplies, we picked fruits of all kinds, and I made more than enough to get all I needed. I don't regret any of it or feel it was an injustice, my Mom worked hard to keep us housed and fed, if I could help I wanted to. It was a 40 hour week and sometimes on Saturday all summer long, well, from the end of July through back to school in September, we still picked fruit on the weekend, we were kids though so we had energy to burn and we played until dark when we got home! Fun times!

25:08 most people in America fall into 2 camps, you either go with the flow, eat what you like, and end up with a weight problem, or you become very conscious of your diet and exercise habits and put in a lot of hard work to avoid it. Obviously different people have different genetics and health issues play a role, but that's the majority.

The thing about gun ownership is it's for everyone who hasn't been deemed mentally incompetent, an addict or a felon. School shootings are rare but highly publicized. The antigun community, instead of making schools hardened targets, would rather strip away everyone's constitutionally protected rights.
Depending on your state, you are allowed to stand your ground and allowed to defend your home. Some states make it mandatory to run away if possible.
As far as ease of buying a gun goes, yes it's easy but you still have to go through a background check and don't lie on it like Hunter Biden whose facing up to 20 years in prison for lying on the background check, possessing and owning a firearm. He mentions "mass shootings," they aren't what they used to be. Today if 4 or more people are injured or killed in a shooting it's called a mass shooting.
Yes, they had their rights to own firearms taken away from them in Canada by Trudeau, who is a modern-day tyrant.
Yes, we have Uber, but why not drive yourself rather than constantly pay someone else? He's a nice guy this kid. I wish him good luck!

Cool video. I just have a few things to point out about his fairly slanted view on guns. America does have more gun crime and in many metropolitan areas like chicago it is very prevalent but comparing Canadian gun crime to american gun crime is no where near a fair comparison. The population of Canada is 10 times smaller than that of america and if ypu compare gun crime by percentage of population and gun owners it's not even comparable. Getting a gun is in no way easy legally. Waiting periods, background checks and licensing are all major hurdles. Those that commit gun crimes are dangerous individuals with or without guns and most likely obtain those guns through illegal means. These are terrible crimes however they are fairly misrepresented with a hard slant by anti gun groups to demonize firearms. Where I grew up you are trained from a very early age (8-10) how to use, care for and responsibly own firearms at hunters ed and other governmental programs before being awarded hunting licenses with pistol ownership and licensing being relegated to adults. Another point to consider is there is no way to eliminate gun crime by making laws and restrictions. Criminals get guns and that's a fact of life everywhere in the world and you do a disservice to the citizens by disarming those who follow the laws and responsibly own guns. Where I live specifically is an open carry state and it is normal to go shopping or drive around town with a firearm in view and is a wildly effective deterrent to gun crime. It's amazing how many people think twice about shooting people who are capable of shooting back. Some schools here even arm staff at public school for the protection of students and teachers alike as a deterrent. Gun owners get stereotyped in media though there are many more people who are perfectly stable and responsible gun owners and regularly use those firearms to provide food for their family and control the wildlife population to prevent overcrowding, starvation among species and protection of livestock and property from wildlife and nerdowells even though the media enjoys making these people out to be opponents of governmental over reach. They are also a huge element of national security and local government. People wildly understate how many member of american society are either reservists or veterans trained in combat by the federal government. You've watched videos stating the sheer number of us soldiers emplyed by the government but for every class of soldier joining each year just as many retire and return to the citizenry. These people pretty much all own firearms and are trained in their use to great effect. I personally feel much safer knowing that if I need to defend myself or my family from an unhinged threat I can build a wall of lead between myself and the attacker. And I believe that to be true of most anyone who cares about the well being of their loved ones. I'm not trying to ruffle feathers or start and argument just stating a few things that I feel are left out or not understand by people on the outside looking in.
