I'll never forget a massive Earthquake in Turkey that killed more than 100,000 people were liked. After about 12 hours the BBC reporter says . The thought that's on everyone's mind is : Where is America? I remember thinking... Where is the EU or the Soviet Union? Why is it ok to demand America step up and yet almost universally resent the US 's involvement at any other level
One thing they didn't mention is that after WW2, the U.S. leaders of the time decided that WW2 would not have happened if the U.S. hadn't withdrawn after WW1. They believed that by being involved around the world, they could help prevent WW3. Many believe that WW3 would have already happened if not for the U.S. Opponents like to say that the U.S. should mind its own business and let them conquer their neighbors without interfering, but that's the whole point of why the U.S. gets involved.
Well problem is WW3 has been going on since WW2 ended it's just not a conventional war it is a war of information and knowledge we are lossing because most Don't know common sense the stupider the people are the more ground we lose in this war. The book by George Soros called something along the lines of "How to distroy a democracy" basically shows how they war is fought, such as the tactic called "top down, bottom up" pay young idiots to protest against democracy while your government officials make changes to turn it slowly into a socialist/communist government and the has been happening to the US since atlest the JFK assassination but Ronald Regan and Donald Trump fought against this from happening but here we are with Donald Trump getting the treatment that those popular politicians against every dictator in history has faced. False accusations, falsified evidence, exc.exc.exc.
and WWI started because there was no global organization to stabilize things, that's why they had to create the United Nations after WWII ended, where would Ukraine be today without these things present, people complain about the US but we haven't had any major wars since WWII, the world needs an organization to do that
That's a charitable way of looking at it. A more realpolitik view would be that the US replaced the UK as the country that could interfere anywhere in the world and force other countries to trade with them by virtue of having military power everywhere.
Sticking our noses where they don't belong hasn't always been the American way. The Founders agreed, and nearly unanimously so, that we ought to stay away from foreign entanglements . This is written into our founding documents .

Pearl Harbor and WW2 REALLY changed how we, as a country, thought. We could no longer keep ourselves safe by "staying out of it". The only way we could prevent another PH was to be proactive; After all, the best defense is a good offense.
Pearl Harbor made us realize that the world needs someone to be a stable influence, we were dragged into WWII because there was nothing to prevent another war from happening again, we cannot afford to just stay out of it
Not to mention the Zimmermann Telegram prior to their entry into WW1 showed that other countries were not willing to leave them be if it did isolate itself, much like Tokugawa Japan or Qing Dynasty China.
We really weren't "staying out of it," though. In both world wars, we were supplying the allies, i.e. Great Britain, France, etc. The other sides of those wars weren't stupid and took retribution for our involvement for supplying their enemies, in which our leaders at the time used to motivate the people to supporting direct involvement in both wars. Make no mistake, I'm not saying that we shouldn't have been involved, but the way we got involved was not the way the government spun it.
Changed how we thought for about 20 years. Now my fellow Americans are ignorant boobs who refuse to even try to understand why it's necessary for US to be present and make moves across the globe. When the fact is WW3 likely would have already broke out maybe even went nuclear if not for the US and fear of what we may do
As an American, the biggest reason we are a superpower is the logistical ability to move troops anywhere in the world, which China and the others lack on any decent scale.
@@ViolentKisses87 The USSR did not have naval capabilities to project power around the world, only to it's neighbors. It's kind of a small miracle China, Russia, and India have not had a major war with each other. In a way, USA is very much on easy mode. Their neighbors are Mexico and Canada, meanwhile Europe, India, Russia, and China are all grouped up and paranoid with land wars. Wow. I cant explain the feeling i had when he said that we are the protectors of everyone. Alot of Americans dont see it that way but hear that we're viewed that way in other countries is so very profound i cant realy explain it. Thanks for that it means alot to us
The American Navy is larger than the next 8 biggest countries navy's combined. America has the largest Airforce on earth and the 2cd largest airforce is held by the Navy . We have over 15,000 military aircraft. Our planes are so more advanced than any other country on earth . If the politicians got out of the way we could probably defeat the whole world , not saying we should but if nukes are not used we are that capable. We are the protectors of a lot of the world.
I agree, he actually realized the importance of the US in the protector role. I feel like if more people like him voiced their appreciation of the service the US provides to the world at a determent to it's own economic health, then the populace movement of MAGA wouldn't be an isolationist mentality. Honestly, MAGA rose as the embodiment of like a nerd in a school project that was blown off one too many times and decided that they don't need a group to do the project. *sigh* Unfortunately, too many of the voices that weild power on the world stage complain and whine when the US is footing more than half of the bill for their projects. Especially when it comes to securing energy resources and trade routes. With the US off world stage the EU can kiss their free health care and other costly civil services goodbye since that money would need to be funneled to military defense.
Agreed. I’ve heard a lot recently about how much everyone else hates America and American interference. It’s so refreshing to hear someone appreciate us.
If we do something its "Why are you interfering in the worlds business and usong your military to bully people?" If we stay out of it we hear, "When is the USA gonna do something about this? I heard there was 3 americans in the building are you gonna let them do that?"
Thank you so much! My entire adult life has either been spent as a military service member or a medic. I’ve gone on six military deployments, saw combat on two continents, then became active in the international medical aid community. The fact that you realize that most Americans really do want to help other people as much as we can humbles me. Because so often we hear a lot of negativity against us. No one knows just how imperfect and flawed we are more than American service numbers, but you’ll rarely find a larger body of individuals who want to help their fellow man regardless of nation of origin or religious creed. From the bottom of my heart thank you. I do not think I have ever bled for my own people But I have certainly shed blood for others.
The best way to explain the growth and strength of our military through the years can be said with one word... Volunteer And they all deserve our respect And thank you for another great video
Echoing what many others have already said, I too appreciate your channel, Lewis. It can be so easy for us Americans (myself in particular) to get tunnel vision with the political and social crap at play here in the States. Your enthusiasm, your excitement, your evident inspiration for what this country is has honestly helped me to take a step back, recalibrate, and realize that, for as many flaws as America may have, there still is a beauty here that inspires others around the world. Love what you’re doing man!!
We are united in a desire for a better world for all, we just bicker about the best way to do that between ourselves, that's a good place to be when you consider the rest of history.
You know what I appreciate? I appreciate you! When you said that we American's are there to help everyone out it touched my heart. More often than not I hear how American's put there noses in everyone's business. Quite a stark contrast between the two opinions don't you think?
A British opinion differs from those in our opposition. While the Brits appreciate what we do for them and the rest of our allies, a place like Pakistan only slightly tolerated our presence. Our biggest fault is thinking that the rest of the world should share our ideologies. Not that the Afghani wanted what we handed to them for a government, but they didn’t want a constitutional republic like ours. Those people aren’t wired like we are. While our structure is based on Christian principles, theirs is based on a separate Abrahamic philosophy with a different set of values. If the American democrats and republicans are 1,000 feet apart, Christianity and Judaism are 1,000 miles apart from Islam. Think of how difficult it is to get a republican to vote democrat and multiply that by a million and that’s the gap between Christians and Islam. But in our own arrogance, we believe that we can spread “freedom” around the world thinking that it’s the “best” way for people to live. This has not changed in principle since Pope Urban II almost a millennium ago when the Latin church took the kingdom of Jerusalem from the Muslims. This is the impetus for the division, even though the area of Jerusalem was originally the Semitic territory of Canaan that predates the Islamic religion itself by almost 2 millennia. I truly don’t believe that the western world will ever share the same ideologies of the Middle East and the elsewheres of the world. Even our value of human life differs from theirs. We can’t put a puppet government in power in these places and expect them to govern the way we think they should. Continuing to make the same attempts and failures just shows how close minded we are.
I get so tired of hearing about the U.S. being in everyone elses business, but in than in that same turn, we are criticized if we don't help another country when they need our help. I am not saying that we are perfect because we are not. No one is. And I do believe at times we probably do overstep. But to a large extent I kinda see it as a no win situation. Because everyone wants us to stay out of their business until they need our help. Than their tune changes. It drives me incredibly nuts sometimes, truly. Its like some others just can't make up their minds, but don't mind bad mouthing us in the meantime. And honestly I get both points (sides) to a certain extent, but at the same time it just seems rather hypocritical, maybe thats the wrong word, maybe two-faced is better. Not too sure really, if those are the best words to describe it, but I can tell you it sucz when you feel like you are the bad guy no matter what you do, or how many people you help, when they ask for it. Honestly, it is all just rather complicated, and its just not that black or white all the time. But that's what most of life is actually right? It is truly mostly made up of all the gray area in the middle, etc..... So yeah, all that just really frustrates me now and again.
The United Nations is communist led, and so we're spreading communism now. And the UN is the beast who will have power over every nation, kindred, tongue and people.
I have noticed here in America they love to fight each other but then all of the sudden if an outsider crosses Americans they all ban together. It's like they're divided on politics etc but never truly divided as a nation. It's actually amazing to see. I moved here just 5 years before 9/11 and they were divided but when 9/11 happened people were banning together like you'd never seen. It's an amazing country with amazing citizens from all walks of life.

The biggest problem with China becoming a Super Power: is it's inability to trust it's own people. When the U S trains it's military; we train to not only follow orders. We want our militaries to have the ability to think and achieve objectives on their own. We let them practice with live weapons; with tons of ammo; all kinds of scenarios. I know in China they don't. Which makes a huge difference in ability to be effective.
Can't forget the fact that like Russia, China wants to actively conquer and then annex smaller nations so they can expand their resources and territory. They did this with Tebit and are trying to do it again today which is why the US and China are in a sort of cold war with each other over East Asia with China wanting to conquer the smaller nations and the US wanting to protect them and maintain their independence and freedom. Similar to the situation in Ukraine and Israel. We want nations to be free, to control their gov, and independent from larger nations trying to conquer them.
Exactly. Until China's people are truly free, their country will not become a super power. It is the people working together that makes a country rise.
It actively encourages the United States military’s true greatest strength: the ability to improvise. The marines whole slogan is after all “improvise, adapt, overcome”.
China isn't a superpower. It would like to think it's one, but it's not. It cannot project all of its power and influence around the globe. That's with military, economy, and culture. All 3. If it cannot do that, then it's not a superpower.
You see we don't want to hurt people. We want to build them and protect them. HOWEVER. IF We are pushed we clap back and we come in hard! We are united and pull together in times of need even with our mass differences across the US.
Fun fact. GPS was created and is maintained by the US government, and is freely available to everyone, anywhere in the world. The yearly upkeep costs roughly $2 billion, paid by American taxpayers. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
There are 21 aircraft carriers in the world. The US owns 10, and 2 are the new super carriers. They are positioned around the world. No other country has more than 2, and they are much smaller. With each carrier there is a support group of ships, destroyers, cruisers, and submarines. Each carrier can hold up to 85 airplanes. That’s how the US projects power.
This. The US has an unprecedented ability to project huge amounts of force anywhere on the planet within 48 hours, and the logistics of the US military are the best in the history of the world. The USA is so absurdly strong that we could conseiveably draw a war against the entire planet indefinitely. As you said we control effectively half of the planets deepwater navy force, and the US air force, navy, army, and marines posess the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 7th largest air forces in the world, respectively.
if you count both fixed wing and helo carriers there are 46 in the world. 20 of which are american. we actually have 11 fixed wing carrier and 9 helo carriers
The US has been the largest economy in the world since 1893, I believe. This goes to show the statement about our resources. It's true that many Americans did not want to get involved in WW2. But once we were in, we used our extensive energy, agricultural, and iron ore resources to ramp up war materials. After the war, we decided to maintain a large military and keep a large fleet to patrol sea lanes, which in turn supported globalization. We also had a majority of the world manufacturing capacity after WW2. We built the largest oil refining capacity in the world. We put the UN in NY and established NYC as the world financial capital. Our current naval fleet is small compared to the Cold War and we've redesigned it for a force projection mission. We built the first jumbo jet (747). We then became the center of the tech industry and our space program drove a huge amount of innovation. The need to build things for our military led to GPS. The entire world uses technologies every day that are direct and indirect outputs of all of the above. In Houston, we have the largest medical center in the world (and other cities have amazing medical centers - for example, the Mayo Clinic) and there is some truly groundbreaking cancer research here. We may actually cure cancer in your lifetime. In Texas. Texas alone today has a larger economy than Russia. As I tell other people overseas, our "empire" probably is more economic than it is military. Since we are the largest consumer economy, virtually everyone will need to do business with us. Our dollar is the top reserve currency. Re: China, they do have a larger army, but it has not been tested (do you really want to pit a Chinese battalion against our Marines?), and its navy is not a blue water navy, cannot project power anything like we can, and like us these days (unlike the past) cannot patrol global sea lanes. China doesn't have the advanced manufacturing we have and something like 90 percent of silicon in high value chips comes from the US.
Your question about Chinese troops vs. Marines is an interesting one. I don't know how to answer this, but I can provide some context that might level the playing field. I watched the Olympic opening ceremony in China and can't help but be fascinated by how they got so many drummers to play a complicated tune simultaneously. If they take something as unimportant as drum beating so seriously, it makes me question what happens with something that is way more important? I have a feeling that Chinese soldiers are extremely well trained because of this. Obviously, neither of these things has anything to do with the other, but the mentality is evident. One area China is lacking compared to the US is military and combat experience. China should scare the hell out of everyone. Especially under a communist rule. You do as you're told, you do it for your country, you don't think twice about it. That mentality can create a very dangerous war zone. Communism, in theory, is the best societal structure you could hope for. In practice, not so much. Communism is too susceptible to corruption. Capitalism, on the other hand, is not great but is the best way of doing things right now.
@@clutchspells2804 I would assume, as well, that training is taken seriously but also agree on the point about battle experience. We might also add a question about the missions for which they are trained. That was a key learning of the war in Ukraine. And the Russians still have more experience than Chinese commanders. Then there's the element of the equipment. The Chinese source equipment from Russia. Reports suggest that China is unsatisfied with some of the items they've acquired. Let's hope we never have to find out! We don't need another war.
@texlad04 it may not seem like it due to recent events, but wars are less frequent than years ago. The trends still show fewer wars over each 10-year period. Probably because most countries have weaponry that could erase life in another country. That is a huge motivation to stay friendly. As far as what the Chinese are trained for, I would imagine it depends on what sort of plan they have or don't have. The fact that Russia and China are becoming buddy buddy is concerning, though. I don't trust either of them when it comes to world interest, only their own interest.
also, the US has allies all around the world, including NATO and Quad Alliance, even Vietnam and other countries are moving closer to the US the past few years, Ukraine and the South China Sea situation would be very different without all of that, China is decades behind in terms of military projection and development, but they have already alienated the rest of Asia with its aggression, which is why Japan, Korea, etc are building up their military
One thing that shocked me was learning that just the registered Deer hunter's in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota would be the 3th largest force in the world, trained with firearms. Invasion would be suicide, and that's only 3 states, and not the biggest ones!
Young people are uneducated now days. I'm happy to see this young man learn something that every young person should know. This is one of the reason a "superpower country" exists.
Context on the "Marshall Plan"; (where the US paid to rebuild Europe and Japan) ... At the time, there was the belief that the rise of Hitler, Mussolini, and others; was the direct result of the economic and social collapse which hit Europe after the end of world war 1. The question of war debt (and who would pay to rebuild cities) was left unsettled, creating unrest and open warfare between the various revolutionary groups; giving rise to Hitler and resulting in the need to fight a second world war. By paying to rebuild Europe and Japan, the idea behind the Marshall Plan was to eliminate the conditions which would give rise to another generation of radicals and war. The placement of troops in Europe (which still remain); was a consequence of needing to restore order and to protect against the USSR gobbling up everything.
There was more to it than that. It was also because the Soviets had stolen our nuclear tech and we needed to make sure Europe would unite and stop fighting amongst themselves so they'd stand between us and them, if they ever attacked Western Europe. The Marshall Plan was part of the establishment of the New World Order at the time, or Globalism, which was how America bribed the rest of the world to stand between us and them by effectively bribing them though economic investments. We figured that if they were our allies, they'd not turn to the Soviet Union for help. However, all of that order is now over. I highly recommend you read Peter Zaihan on YT and also read his 2002 book on the end of Globalization. It's scary but true: America is retreating from the world and the Global order we established and secured is coming - rapidly - to an end.

America's military policy following WWII basically defined what it means to be a superpower. Force projection with the ability to engage in at least two major theaters of war at the same time. Superpower Status is relational. It's relative to other countries. Currently, Only the USA is a Superpower, although there are many countries that would qualify simply as Powers, like China and Russia.
A Super Power is defined as being able to fight in two different theaters simultaneously and have an expedition force to achieve this, and the supply chain and the logistics to support it.
Admiral Yamamoto. He'd lived in the US while attending Harvard University and then went to work for Japan's Foreign Ministry in Washington. He knew that US citizens would be outraged by the sneak attack on Pearl.
I've always heard that a superpower is a country that can fight two wars at once. America is the only country that can deploy enough troops anywhere in the world to fight a war overseas. No other country has a Navy big enough to be a superpower. Some people might say any country with nukes is a superpower but nobody wins in a nuclear war.
Thats not a super power thats just a goal of the American Military. We always strive to be able to take on two equally powerful nations simultaneously. Which is why our military is so massive compared to the rest of the worlds. Our military power is equal to the next 10? strongest countries behind us, so by a large margin we are very powerful when it comes to military might which we use to project ourselves all over the world. There are some in the US who think this is a bad thing though and that the money we spend on the military would be better spent elsewhere as it could easily house and feed every american by just cutting back some of the military budget or provide healthcare for all of us. That would be nice in a ideal world but in this one we need to keep our super status or will become targets. China is setting up to become a rival power and has been for some time. It wants to take taiwan which is under the protection of the US, you can look on youtube and find videos about potentially what that would look like if they were able to match us and how bad things could get if they took taiwan but they are still a long way off from being capable to do so.
@@dmoney012485 China is not a threat. Their economy is collapsing. Their government is unstable as there are multiple factions at odds with eachother. it is more accurate to say that the CCP is what is collapsing because the CCP does not represent the people. they just care about themselves. Outside of that, their military technology is far behind ours. we are currently working on 5th gen aircraft while China doesn't even have a truly 4th gen. America's biggest threat is actually from Cyber Warefare. We have been probed and attacked from many sources constantly since basically the beginning of the world internet. They seek to circumvent many of our defenses and collapse our infrastructure by killing our power grid and such. They are also attempting to replace us as the world standard in currency. The truth is that WW3 has been in progress for more than 20 years. It is just happening digitally.
China has the largest navy in the world. However, most of their ships are littoral. The definition of a superpower is a country which projects military, political, economic, and cultural influence across the globe. China has no interest in projecting military power but, I would say they meet all the other criteria.
@@josephcraig5492 They don't meet any of the criteria currently. They aren't stable either politically or economically and they do not have the military might for force projection. They don't have the resources to supply themselves even just for internal power. Their population is inverting in age, in 10 years over 30% will be in retirement on government pensions. Their working and military age population is shrinking. They will never become a superpower.
America is a super power because we have 100s of military bases in over 80 countries and our Navy protects the shipping lanes in every single ocean. So we basically police the entire globe. From Africa to South America. Every single piece of land that is Not China, Russia or Iran has some US military presense. All of NATO also uses our military weapons. We also own all of the Pacific in have bases on every Island. We have 11 Carrier strike groups that can be anywhere in the world, the carriers and subs are Nuclear powered and never need fuel. No other country comes close to that. We also dominate Space exploration and satelite communication, such as Starlink and Mars Helicopter/rover/JWST etc etc
We actually have US bases in 85 nations and active-duty military troops across 178 countries. California alone as more than 185,000 active duty, reserve and civilian employee personnel. .
The world is against any form of the word colonialism so they're against UK's colonies. Yes, all the colonies would support each other but wish they'd be a bit more patriotic about it. All for one and one for all. Ack, what do I know over here across the pond.
L3WG I'm telling you, our history has always been to mind our own affairs and stay out of entangling alliances. If we choose to exert our influence we can overpower damn near everybody in our way but we simply do not want the headache. The problem is post WWII everybody else dragged us in kicking & screaming and now at the precipice of the Information Age we HAVE to go global because that's just the nature of the world now, and we hate it. So now America is pretty much begrudgingly reversing gears because the only way is "through". So now we have a military that's impossible to beat and we brain drain every country and gather to ourselves the best minds on the planet to invent things at a rate accelerated from light speed to warp 10.
WWII is the most important event in US history. The effects it had on the US can't be understated. It finally got the country out of the Great Depression and turned it into what it is today. But many sociological changes came from WWII as well. After WWII, people chose to move out of the cities and into the residential areas outside of them. This gave rise to what we know today as suburbs. These homes they bought needed to be equipped with appliances and furnishings. This helped stimulate the economy. After coming home, the GIs went back to work and the women who had been working went back into the home. This is what led to the two-parent home--what is known today as the nuclear family.
What existed before the 2 parent home was the generational family - Grandma and Grandpa or sometimes aunts and uncles along with parents and children. This is still true to some extent, but it isn't necessarily the norm.
China is 50% of the way to being a superpower. But with difficult times on the horizon in terms of demographics and loss of its forgien manufacturing it may remain a regional power.
I'd say much less than 50%. Sure, they can build an aircraft carrier, but they cannot build an aircraft carrier as effective as the U.S. escort carriers of WW2.
As an American I can only speak for myself and those I know... With that being said we will go down swinging before we let someone else run the show and tell us how to live...
I wish that were the case. Unfortunately, it seems like many of us in recent years were happy to allow our own government tell us how to live. I know I wasn't among them, but most people I know were, and some still are.

I remember a cover of The Economist, circa 1995ish, which showed a British hand reaching out to grab a sheepish Uncle Sam, star spangled top hat and all, who is attempting to sneak away. The headline: "Yes you ARE a Superpower!" Winston Churchill talked about our "power and might" long before we internalized that we had any. Thanks, Mum!❤🇬🇧🇺🇸
We went from 130K to 4MM because the people here were ready-made warriors. We all own guns and know how to use them, and back then, every day was strength and endurance building manual labor. America was built on guns & whiskey, and we like things that go boom.
My great-grandfather came to the U.S. from Russian Lithuania and a few years later served in World War I in exchange for citizenship. One of the tricks for expanding the military so fast at that time was getting immigrants on board. I've been hearing on the radio lately about how many of our lawmakers are getting exhausted of the aid we're sending to Ukraine and want us to stop. It's reaching the point that the future of our aid is unreliable, which could have major implications for our role in the world.
Our aide has always been unreliable. What politicians agree to hand out can change on a dime, or dry up over night. Besides money doesn't grow on trees and we can't afford to support other countries' wars. This particular kerfuffle was completely avoidable. Putin only invaded because he thought Biden was weak. Trump threatened to bomb Moscow if Putin twitched wrong. That kept the whole area at peace. If I have to choose between two nuts, I'll take the crazy who kept the peace. And yes, Biden is crazy too.
There's a reason why we didn't want to wade into foreign affairs, we had ourselves to take care of. If you're taking care of someone else, you're not taking care of yourself. Which is the problem we currently find ourselves in.
there are pros and cons to it. another con is this military industry complex. it has so much power on our politics. but a pro is we've essentially been in pax americana since the end of ww2 (yes there have been police actions and minor wars but even during pax romana rome was dealing with civil wars and rebellions, there just haven't been large scale wars since ww2)
As of late, I'm questioning how we can remain a super power, when we have so much turmoil in our government 😢. We have slipped and I have grown proud of being an American, actually, due, somewhat to your videos 😍. Thank you for that. We are experiencing too much infighting, which can tear us apart, from within. I, truly hope not. I'm enjoying your videos, immensely. I can't wait to see you tuck into some American products that have been sent!
That political infighting has always been there. It's not some new thing it is just far more viable now than in the past. If you dropped someone from 1776 in 1876 they would say the same, same for 1876 into 1976, and same for 1976 to today. The difference is information transfer and not what is actually going on. If anything our internal politics has gotten less aggressive believe it or not.

"Wait, is Britain a superpower?" No Lewis, not for the last 100 years. The Suez Crisis in 1956 when the Americans told us "Don't be so silly!" marked the death knell of the British Empire. We only just squeaked a win over the Argies in 1982 when an Exocet into a British jump-jet carrier could have easily lost it for us. London lost to NY as the financial capital of the world, and is now nothing more than a big launderette for international oligarchs' extorted loot.
That's exactly what a "paper tiger" is. Someone or something that's portrayed as big and bad, but it's just an image. I'd think that if China actually tried causing too much trouble, they'd realize just how many allies the US has. Nothing wrong with them becoming strong. But like you said, "what happens if they're not interested in protecting the world?". We can only hope they'd at most cause another cold war...
In my opinion the U.K. Is definitely a super power., a great navy and air force. This is a great Chanel, thank you for your hard work and always interesting content.
Check your PO Box today! Congrats on going from 50K to almost 60K in a few weeks! There is quite the debate in the US about how much of "world police" does the US want to be? In the current war in Israel, it seems like the question being asked was what was the US going to do about it? Um, yes, we have allies (like the UK), but is it the US taxpayer's burden to police the world? If any country has a problem - war, disease, hunger, natural disaster - it's the US that gives money and other aid. Which is nice, no doubt. On top of aid given by the government, we have non-profit charities (like the Red Cross, among others) where we can give even more directly to the cause We're quite generous people by nature. The Libertarian Party (a distant 3rd, and often not represented in elections) believes in the original US reasoning for military: defense. Not offense. We'd probably still give personally, but the government wouldn't supply the world with weapons. They'd only be for defense of the homeland.
Love the questions. A part of me wants US to help Israel until I saw the info about the Gaza hospital then I realized this isnt a conflict we should’ve gotten involve with. Lets face it Israel has a history of being a bloodbath. Whether going Biblically or even human evolution, it is a country in a spot that is going to see conflict constantly. Its good to be generous but right now that generosity should be going to our own people. The amount of homeless people all over the country is not acceptable.
I understand why the US was not immediately interested in joining I alliances with Europe. I think 6-7 major wars happened in Europe just from 1750-1850. I wouldn't want to get in the middle of that either.
I'm only about halfway through, and this is actually really deep. I really think the class system is so ingrained in the UK culture. Hopefully, that changes soon. Whereas America, people could go from the bottom to the top, and that is the dream that we all have and believe.

As an American I believe we are our own worst enemy & we need to stop fighting amongst ourselves & find a way to reunite or we could lose what our ancestors worked so hard for. We need to find some common ground in political views & we definitely need to stop looking at the color of each other’s skin bc that’s just a completely ridiculous thing to have conflict over.

Except there isn't much common ground politically, because, if you're someone that's remotely principled, you can either go one way or the other. You can only be for or against baby murder. You can only be for or against people's right to bear arms. You can only be for or against forced medical experimentation. There's no common ground worth finding between polar opposites. Similarly, one side of the political aisle insists that people of certain skin colors should be given special privileges, such as exclusive access to certain funds for education, "free" money extorted from other citizens, preferential treatment for both education and employment, and so on, while the other argues that everyone should play on a level playing field regardless of skin color. That alone is an argument against the idea of finding common ground. Have everyone treated the same, regardless of skin color, or find common ground. Pick one. Unless by "stop looking at skin color," you mean you want people to ignore factual statistics that don't support your ideology.

One thing they didn't mention is that after WW2, the U.S. leaders of the time decided that WW2 would not have happened if the U.S. hadn't withdrawn after WW1.

I am not saying that we are perfect because we are not. No one is. And I do believe at times we probably do overstep. But to a large extent I kinda see it as a no win situation.

The marines whole slogan is after all “improvise, adapt, overcome”.
you guys ever been to Beijing? They have cameras on almost every corner. Like 20 cameras, pointing, in every single direction. it’s kind of dystopian.

Facts
waking the sleeping Giant was indeed the spark that decided the involvement
👍👍🇺🇲

Thanks, very informative. The US must have done the same thing with South Korea (after the Korean War) because it's doing very well compared to NK.

The motto of the US is "F**k around and find out."

We wanted to sleep... but someone always has to mess with our boats
The US has a military doctrine in which it is ready & capable to fight and win two major wars at the same time
There is a growing very sizable populous here in America that really desire for us to become more isolationist again
@@A_Name_ We like to forget that our politics got so divided we went to war with each other. People are acting like hurtful memes about the president is the downfall of america lol
I mean in our History this is probably the largest amount of time we haven’t been at war. Plus Politics comes and goes. The only real problem is debt and the people who want attention so much they make a whole type of people look bad.(trans people, gay people, the 1st and 2nd wave feminists, and etc)People who would not have the hate or dislike they have right now if it weren’t for people wanting attention
Having a nuclear ICBM gets you a seat at the superpower table. No further questions
US RUSSIA CHINA FRANCE UK ISREAL N. KOREA IRAN
Nah. No one thinks that. At least no one smart.
Wrong ...plenty of further questions. you're just not smart enough to think of them
India, Pakistan, and Israel also have nukes.

😂😂😂 when the narrator made lewg question if UK is considered a superpower 😂😂😂
"Wait, is Britain a superpower?" No Lewis, not for the last 100 years. The Suez Crisis in 1956 when the Americans told us "Don't be so silly!" marked the death knell of the British Empire. We only just squeaked a win over the Argies in 1982 when an Exocet into a British jump-jet carrier could have easily lost it for us. London lost to NY as the financial capital of the world, and is now nothing more than a big launderette for international oligarchs' extorted loot.
Being an American i gotta say i was smiling during the whole video lol
That's exactly what a "paper tiger" is. Someone or something that's portrayed as big and bad, but it's just an image.
I'd think that if China actually tried causing too much trouble, they'd realize just how many allies the US has. Nothing wrong with them becoming strong. But like you said, "what happens if they're not interested in protecting the world?". We can only hope they'd at most cause another cold war...
In my opinion the U.K. Is definitely a super power., a great navy and air force. This is a great Chanel, thank you for your hard work and always interesting content.
Um, not really ...
Your videos are quite refreshing hearing an unbiased opinion is pretty rare.

Appreciate your channel.
China has the potential but they tend to take shortcuts in manufacturing. They may have the head count, but won’t put much stock in their weaponry.
I'm only about halfway through, and this is actually really deep. I really think the class system is so ingrained in the UK culture. Hopefully, that changes soon. Whereas America, people could go from the bottom to the top, and that is the dream that we all have and believe.
Love from Wisconsin brother God bless
Trust me mate… Us Americans will have your back when shit hits the fan. I hope the same if we get in trouble.
We wouldnt really need help because were just too powerful, unless we're under Biden
@@virginiagrant5234 the last guy wanted to kick out NATO and be friends with Putin, what's wrong with you?
@@DaisyDee5610 The last guy was harder on Russia than literally any other president and was against NATO because we were the only ones paying our fair share.
Meanwhile YOUR president literally gave Putin a list of our systems that are most vital to us, gave him the go ahead on hacking systems that weren't on the list, and is best friends with the CCP. Not to mention being a chimo, pushing for violation of the 1st amendment, 2nd amendment, AND the Nuremberg Code.
Better question is what's wrong with YOU.
I think the "independent voter" is all that kinds us going..if your in a party they tell u how and what to vote for..there's no middle ground...I like to think for myself because we never fully agree 100% percent..and that's ok but to just give your vote blindly to the DNC or the RNC is unthinkable to me..

The USA needs a real leader so we can all find that pride that our world used to have.
not trump
real leader? like Putin? Like Victor Orban? You mean a dictator? NO thanks. And our country is doing quite well. Compared to the other Western Nations, our GDP is the highest, our inflation is the lowest and we actually have an Infrastructure Bill and the CHIPS act that brings back manufacturing back. The last guy didn't do cr@p he just runs his mouth.
Our military protects the rest of the world, and the US citizens foot the bill. All we ask for in return is a little respect and for our allies to step up when we kindly ask them to. It would also be great if some of our foreign debts were forgiven for all of the protection and rebuilding we've done worldwide.
To anyone who doesn't understand our patriotism and high regard for our military, those are our sons and daughters who VOLUNTEERED to protect the rest of the world! They WILL BE HONORED!!! (Proud mom of a Navy sailor who gave 8 years and 3 deployments) 💙 Don't fuck with our boats!!!
One of the best standards is. Can you fight two major wars at the same time? If so, then yes you are a super power
I’d rather keep the 30% of my paycheck instead of paying to police the world. Would rather we went back to minding our own business, personally
Ppl here say we’ll this country can do this and that for their ppl, umm well where does there money go? To their ppl or for everything but
Putin once said that The US is best left alone.🇺🇸👍😉
