@Hanna Reckmann I normally use buttercream, but when I use fondant and cut me a slice, I literally peel off the fondant and just eat the cake and the little bit of buttercream that was left on it lol I’m with your family 😂

I’ve only been decorating cakes for a year now, got thrown into at work when our second decorator quit. Had no prior experience and I’m still learning so I come to UA-cam and watch videos on new techniques to practice. I love that you use a napkin to smooth the cake, I can’t wait to try that on my next one!!! 🤩

Viva brand "Signature Cloth" paper towels work great for smoothing icing too. They are smooth like a baby wipe. I Ice mine as smooth as I can, Put it in the fridge to harden the butter cream back up a little ( I live in Texas, Butter Cream gets soft QUICK here LOL! ) Take out of fridge and use Viva paper towels as you did with the napkins :)

This cake looks amazing. Where did you find the napkins without a pattern, or colour? All the napkins I find that are white, have a pattern on them, but I worry coloured, or printed napkins, might put colours onto the cakes... Great video 👍
