I originally felt the same way about Melton and then I looked at MHJ performance against him at Rutgers and quickly realized why. Cardinals also obtained another 4th round pick for trading down to 35.
Exactly, he locked him down, also Kool-aid isn't all that great either tbh, he's a great athlete but he has some flaws that can get him burnt at the pro level, thats why he dropped so far
When you listen to the coaches it’s pretty clear they value locker room, scheme and durability a lot. When they passed on Newton, Dejean and Boebe it was for a reason. Like every draft, we’ll know how it really went in a couple years.
Thanks for the comment! We agree, but they got a lot of great players in general. They did address DT a lot in free agency though with Bilal Nichols and Khryis Tonga as well
14:00 As a Cardinals fan, I also had similar feelings to the brother with the B+ grade but I also came to the same conclusion as the brother with the A- grade and realized that Monti and Gannon drafted meticulously to their scheme (not my idea) and I feel like ultimately the players drafted- if they produce will have a better advantage due to how they fit the big picture of this AZ Cards team than if they were drafted somewhere else, which is what every GM essentially wants, so I ended up with a solid A, maybe A-.
Thanks for the comment and the take! It is easy to armchair quarterback every pick but they have their process and things'll workout in the end. At the end of the day they utilized their 12 picks fairly well and improved their team tremendously!
Micah Parsons reacted to Darian Robinson’s pick saying that the Cardinals were the best fit for him because of what they are trying to do. Gannon said “versatility” when asked. I’d add durability. Dude is a beast. Certainly an upgrade for their weakest position.
I've heard a lot about being able to pick some guys later, like Reiman, but there's no guarantee that they'll be there and then what? Ine thing that held McBride back was his blocking ability. Film tells me that Reiman is going to surprise.
I don't think they paniced at all, Monti knows who he wants. even if Cooper or Coolaid were there he still would've gone Melton. they passed on Newton to get Robenson who btw the Ravens wanted to pick at 30. I love this draft class, only reaches I feel are Max Melton just because he reminds me to much of Eli Apple, and the guard forgot his name.. but all in all Monti knows who he wants and I trust it.
I don't agree about DeJean and Lassiter (4.6s 40). DeJean doesn't play like an NFL cover corner. I picked Melton as a press CB over those two after film review.
I just don’t understand passing on Newton. DTs are becoming more important now than ever. We had the opportunity to pair him up with Robinson and still draft essentially everyone we did. Not everything has to be a scheme fit
Thanks for the comment! Only time will tell, but it will be one to remember especially if Newton takes off in the league. Still though y'all had a great draft!
Reiman was a steal from us. He’s an insane blocker for a TE. He doesn’t give you a lot of yards, but the dude is one of the best blockers too. I can’t wait to see Benson, but he might surprise people. I did want DeJean in the draft, but I feel Max Melton might surprise people. Both Benson and Jones are steals in the draft.
@@adamdavis5383 Tip: I think it was a good pick for us, but I think he could’ve fell more and Adams is a risky one when you had a certified starter in Haynes
If I phenomenal, you mean, we will be drafting in the top 10 again next year, then yes they did a phenomenal job LMAO. If any phenomenal by they will be a winning football team, they stink up the building.. Montley totally screwed the pooch on this draft, he failed to trade back and round one which we desperately we needed him to, and then he traded back and round two when we desperately did not want him or need him to. This draft was a failure and shook my faith in our new general manager greatly, and made me cry. The only thing he may have done correctly was address the secondary with a significant amount of draft capital otherwise he really blew this draft. anybody who tells me that Darius Robinson is better than Johnny Newton is insane LMAO, and he passed on Newton for Robinson, which was criminal.

That's how I felt about renardo green nabers
Thanks for the comment! That is a great point as well!
They got 79 for that trade it’s even better a 3rd rounder

@@MrFpsdestroyerI’m convinced his name is a big part of the hype around him
I hope Marvin Harrison Jr can be a stud similar to when we drafted Fitz
Thanks for the comment! We believe he will be. Dude is a beast!
99% of Cardinal fans wanted the Cards to stick and pick MHJ!!! Only a few knuckleheads wanted them to trade out!
Haha thanks for the comments! We agree with the 99%! They made the correct pick!

Thanks for the comment! And that is true, those guys know a bunch we don't know so only time will tell!
I get it, you liked dejean! Or you just like the sound of saying it. Monti has his guys, trusts his scouts, & doesn't seem to just chase a name.
Thanks for the comment! We'll see how both guys pan out over the next few years!
Max Melton him really a first round talent
Thanks for the comment! Let's hope he pans out!
Overall I loved this draft,I just wish they would've addressed defensive interior more.
Thanks for the comment! We agree, but they got a lot of great players in general. They did address DT a lot in free agency though with Bilal Nichols and Khryis Tonga as well
Great video guys !!!! Subscribed 👍
I wonder how he feels being a falcon fan after that bomb of a top 10 pick!
Haha thanks for the comment! Go check out our Falcons draft recap and find out!

Gannon D is about versatility
Thanks for the comment! they're gonna keep getting better!
Chris Jones was steal
Thanks for the comment! and I agree he was a great selection and can help out that offensive line tremendously!

Character stuff I think…just had a kid too

Cards are taking team 1st guys.
& a certain type of players.
That's why they picked Melton
Fits the type of players they want
Hard to respect your opion on the Cardinals with all the falcons gear behind you
Thanks for the comment! Don't hold it against us!
@@thetracytakeI think it makes your takes even more honest tbh
Isaiah Adam’s and reiman are just absolutely horrible picks considering who we could’ve gotten and what we NEEDED. Our IOL is still in shambles.
Thanks for the comment! Who would you have liked them to select with those picks?

@brulee4865 Adam's and Tip both came from the same school, so they will have good chemistry going into the NFL.

The other corners were not a fit for the cards defense
