    All the pundits hyping the Rams ... as a 49er fan im much more interested to see what the Cards look like. If they take half as big a leap in year 2 of Gannon as they did last year, they'll be a problem for other teams. That should be the base evaluation around which other possibilities are discussed.

    The chiefs have 3 big safety/CB hybrids. CB is the one position we could lose talent, Chenal will be able to step up and we kept Tranquill & signed the #1 FA. Every season Brown has been healthy, he was a 1k receiver.

    • @thetracytake
      @thetracytake 21 день тому

      Thanks for the comment! We will see how the defense plays out. My complaint was that they didn't have to lose the CB talent because they had the cap space to keep Sneed. Chenal and Tranquill should fill in the LB gaps. As far as Marquise Brown, he played in all 16 games in 2020 and only had 769 yards. His lone 1000-yard season was in 2021 with 1008 yards when he played in 16 of 17 games. Other than that year he hasn't come close to 1,000 yards, with 769 yards being his highest.

    • @jaysimon1206
      @jaysimon1206 20 днів тому

      @@thetracytakeThe Chiefs did not have to cap space to keep Sneed. They have players coming up this year that they need to pay. Trent McDuffie, Creed Humphrie, Trey Smith, Nick Bolton to name a few. The Chiefs are not just going to let talent walk out of the door for no reason. Great effort on the post however. I suggest you look into the salary cap before you question why obvious moves needed to be made. We resigned Chris Jones and let Sneed walk so we could sign McDuffie this offseason. Unfortunately in a salary capped world the way you build a destiny is knowing when you need to make the tough choices. Just like Tyreek, Sneed was another business decision that had to be made. Also the Chiefs are not looking for a Tyreek Hill replacement. The need to be able to stretch the field as they were unable to do that last year without any consistency. I know it's tough to talk about every team as you wouldn't know them as well as the teams you follow. Once again I appreciate the effort but you can tell you don't follow the team very closely.

    Overlooked: Defense was #1 in scoring after AP took over. Huh? Who said that Minshew was going to be the starter? AP already said that it was AOC's job to lose. (9TD/1INT in last five games) DTs Jenkins and Butler had good years and they were resigned. Getsy's MO is running back by committee so they are set there. BS rumors. Adams is going nowhere. If Kolton Miller doesn't miss four games again then offensive line could be dominant. Only question in the secondary is CB2 between Bennett and Facyson. Otherwise very solid. Atlanta? SB contending? Raiders won 8 games and got better. If they don't win 9 then something is wrong.

    I have a few questions for you guys. First, what record did you give to Houston going into 2023? Did you think the Jets were a playoff team? What week did Herbert get injured? Mike Williams? Corey Lindsley? Do you feel that Austin Ekeler returned to form after his injury early in the season or was the O-Line just that bad? How much of an impact did wiffing on J.C. Jackson have on the Chargers defense? Personally I think all the prognostications are flawed in that they usually rely heavily on what happened last year. I don't know if you heard, but there's a new sheriff in town and the BS that went on in this organization last year is over. Basing wins this year on wins / losses last year is kinda weak. Maybe look at those lineups. Honestly, the Jets last year....everyone's Superbowl darling. I don't know anyone that didn't predict them going to the playoffs. 4 plays into the season that changed. They've upgraded their line but is it enough? We know for fact that team is one bad play, one late hit, one bad decision away from being the 2023 Jets again. And yet everyone still loves them as Superbowl contenders. The Chargers floor improved vastly, which is significant considering their history losing players to injury.They upgraded their strength conditioning team and expanded it. They are going to run the hell out of that ball. Philosophy and culture change over night. Mack and Bosa took pay cuts to stay. You don't think that's significant? Yeah, the WR has to prove itself, but honestly, they will be the second act to the run game. And I think we're going to see what it looks like when you have a damned good line schemed to run in front of Herbert. They are playoff bound...that is the floor. The Bolt is the same. The colors are the same. Some of the players are the same. But everything else is different. This is a new team.

    I see seven wins on that schedule and a possible upset brings that to 8 wins. Having said that, defense still a question mark so I can see it going south too. The fact is that the Cardinals are a lot more intriguing now than at any time under Kingsbury.

  • @azirish10
    @azirish10 28 днів тому

    The only way they finish with only five wins is if several key players get injured. I agree the start of the season will be tough. Call it a hunch, but I think they flirt with .500 in the first eight games. After that, I think they build momentum and confidence to go on a run. Mark it now, seven wins is the floor and 11 is the ceiling.

    Tyler’s take dove deeper acknowledging the run game. Cardinals run game ended the season top 5 in the league with Conner averaging 5 yds/carry. Now they add Benson. The biggest weapon of this PYP (Pick Your Poison) offense is Kyler with play action. People don’t realize Kyler was focusing on healing and rehabilitation of his knee. Now he’s in full game mode learning OC Petzing’s offensive system. Their biggest weapon, Kyler with play action. U either stack the box in hopes of stopping the run and hope it’s not play action. MHJ is most likely open. If MHJ is doubled now u have McBride, Wilson, or Dortch to be open. A true Pick your poison offense. There will be a lot of shootouts and the defense will start slow with a lot of rookies gaining experience, but I wouldn’t be shocked if somewhere in the middle of the season the rookies on defense develop and catch on to pro level play.

    Fields was a far bigger part of the Bears problem then anyone wanted to admit. A lot of his issues are mental, and a lack of interest in playing the QB position the way it needs to be played in the NFL. He thinks he can just go out and make plays like he did at OSU, as if he has a huge talent net positive still in his ability and his team. There is no OSU vs the big ten, or Ohio University in the NFL. Unless he starts to put the time into the classroom to learn the O, the opposition def and how to get the play off on time, he won't even be a good backup.

      Yeah pretty much this. I was devastated to see Jonesy go but it sounds like he was not willing to work with lowering his cap hit as much as the org wanted him to. Gutey implied as much in an interview recently that both camps were farther apart on a number than he thought they'd be, and that when the Josh Jacobs opportunity presented itself, it was too good for them to pass up. Which I do understand. Jones really didn't end up getting much more with Minnesota as a free agent than what they were rumored to be offering him to stay, so it sounds like they weren't far off of his market value. His cap hit would have been 17 mill this year though. There was no way they were going to keep him for that with how often he was starting to get injured. Will miss him though. One of my fav Packers to ever put on a uniform.

    The Packers roster changes focused almost exclusively on 4 position groups OL S LB RB (top 9 draft picks and free agency). Beyond those 4 position groups: the only departure was TE/FB Josiah Deguara, competition was added at K/LS, a pair of 7th round picks and a small UDFA class. That's it. The offseason plan seems clear: new defense (scheme/coaching), changes at OL S LB RB, and continue developing the young roster. I'm really optimistic about the new look defense and think (even with a learning curve) that is where this team will make the biggest improvements. After that side of the ball has underachieved for years it's easy to forget how much the Packers have invested but 10 of the 11 projected starters are 1st or 2nd round picks and the new scheme appears to match the personnel far better. Exactly what it looks like is TBD but the expectation is similar to what Robert Saleh and DeMeco Ryan run featuring more attacking and less reacting than the Joe Barry soft zone that Packers fans have endured.

      Good analysis. I think by far, their biggest weakness is kicker which could be their kryptonite if not addressed.

    If you look at the team overall they honestly didn't get better nor did they get worse. I say this bc of the 2nd half of last season and diggs' usage, targets, etc. All extremely low yet they ran the gauntlet of their schedule and won a playoff game and handled KC until KC did what they always do, and that dropped pass from diggs...ouch. Anyways their WR room is much better than last year bc besides Diggs and Davis(who wasn't consistent at all) you didn't have much. They have much more dependable pass catchers and can supplement targets by committee. My only what if is how quickly the WR room will gel and yeah that's a tough schedule, but Buffalo never gets blown out and always plays till the last drive. Will be an interesting season.

    Super Bowl??? Cmon yall it’s just Kurt cousins, he’s good but he isn’t stopping anyone from drafting a franchise QB. We should be competitive sure but we still need to build the roster, and hopefully be ready for the Penix era. Definitely hope Kurt performs in the 2-3 year window he has but I’m not going to delude myself into thinking Kurt is something he’s never been in 12 year career.

    we pivoted into the right direction we filled some gaps and prepared for the worst in our depth chart after the horrible 2023 season. We have a lot of young players that have that mentality to strive and be better and that’s bigger then people think. We are going to overcast the negative projections for this coming up season and surprise the whole league. I believe in the BIG BLUE 🔵🔵🔷🔷🟦🟦🛜🛜

    Ok I might have jumped to conclusions. As a Jaguars fan I’m so used to feeling like I have to defend em.
