The sims 4 is literally the white bread of the sims series. It is so BLAND and boring, they made this big deal out of how CrAzY your sims would be with the emotions system (which they forgot about after like a year) yet the sims have literally no personality!!! How can you go from the customisation EMPIRE that was the sims 3 to the most empty experience ever the sims 4 is the disappointment of the sims series

yes !! even with different traits sims tend to act exactly the same. players have way too much control over sims making the experience much less enjoyable and more of a chore
one of my biggest problems with the sims 4, apart from a lack of open world and cars, is the fact every single sim is the EXACT SAME. these traits are literally there for decoration because they don't add anything to the personality of a sim. and also, despite them heavily advertising how these newer sims were going to be more 'emotionally intelligent', they rarely express anything other happy, sad, fine.

Yeah, personality in the Sims 4 is a complete joke. It doesn't matter what "traits" you give them because essentially, your Sims are all the same. I remember playing Sims 3 and having my girl sim date this guy with commitment issues just to see how their relationship would go. I played with them in Bridgeport and I remember one day while she was at work, he flirted and kissed another female sim halfway across the town and my sim drove all the way over to where he was, slapped him, and then shoved the female Sim who he was smooching up. Mind you, she did this all on her own. I couldn't even cancel the interaction. Now how's that for personality because the Sims 4 could NEVER!
The same sim in 4 would get a moodlet for like 2 hours that gets overridden by the "good decorations" moodlet (idk what it's called)
The same sim in sims4 would even know that their so had cheated unless it was right in front of her face. No one can tell her, no one can spread rumours. What is even the point of the reputation system?

I'm like 60% sure Strangerville was a result of the writers seeing Stranger Things and remembering they had a town called Strangetown once upon a time and just kind of mashed it together.
I remember on the sims 3 there was this cute neighbor I had (can’t remember his name) and regardless of how hard my sim tried and hit on him, he just WASN’T HAVING IT lol. No matter how hard I tried he had his own agenda and that was that. Time went on and he got with another sim and had a kid with her and became a single dad (with no intervention from me) and I just remember thinking, “wow, this little sim man had an entire LIFE without me having to do anything” and it was crazy to see! The sims 4 could NEVER.
Every sim in the sims 4 can become your best friend, your lover, or your enemy with a couple clicks, regardless of their “traits” or relationship status. It’s so ridiculously easy and makes the game so boring.

I did that with my Sims dog and I was trying to get him with the female that lived up the road and I literally got them to best friends and one day I made him go back up to the house and was greeted with a litter of puppies that looked like the dog the Goth family had adopted. He wasn't listed as their father but I have my suspicions 😂😂
Also none of the sims are independent. Like I’m doing the 100 baby challenge and all my kids die old and alone with no kids, and so do the baby daddy’s. Like??

(From what ive seen) Sims 2 had so much story and personality. Your sims felt like actual characters
(Since I grew up with it) Sims 3 gameplay was the best. Ngl it was slow and sometimes crusty looking but there was so much customization and things to do with each new pack.
Sims 4 has a good CAS and building system. Its graphics and modding flexibility are good too. The rest is as interesting as a piece of cardboard.
So I would spend money on a game with s2 drama and details s3 gameplay and world+ s4 graphics and build mode.

I came back to watch this and I just want to say this new eco neighborhood has my sim running all the way home from the community lot...like actually right up to the sidewalk outside of their home, and THEN give me a loading screen anyway. I can't remember if the other neighborhoods are like that but that gave me a whole headache

The Sims 4 sold well and for that reason alone the Devs think the game is doing really well. In truth, people that buy it don't play it long. My favorite thing is to build because gameplay replayability is sad. I'd like an upgraded Sims 2, with a splash of Sims 3, with Sims 4 graphics.

Honestly EA/Maxis shouldn’t be so confident in their franchises. SimCity used to have no substitute but then Cities: Skylines ended the whole franchise so now the Sims is all they have left

Online dating is actually a thing in The Sims 3 and you can actually edit your profile on it and lie about your traits and how you look lol. Also, like someone previously said, there is matchmaking on The Sims 2 and you can ask a fortune teller to set up a blind date for you.

3. Casino/ night life expansion pack

6. Better functionality when putting people when sending people in a group.
7. Commercial lots already put in worlds (stores, markets, etc.)
8. The vampires and wizard expansion pack (or whatever tf it’s called) should’ve been a SINGULAR pack (I hate capitalism.)

i agree with everything you had to say except that Vampires and Spellcasters should have been 1 pack, look at the mermaids from Island Living, the Aliens from GTW, and Ghosts from the base game, they all suck and are almost indistinguishable from regular sims in terms of their powers, you can’t say the same for the Vamps and Spellcasters because they have the skill trees.
Thamilkymilk I mean you could choose what you wanted to be a have a skill tree based on whether you’re a vampire or a spellcaster. Hypothetically if they were to make it an expansion pack it should’ve been put together. Good thing they aren’t

I quit playing Sims 4 when they made the “My first pet stuff” pack, which was an expansion pack of the Sims 4 Cats and Dogs *expansion pack.*

the thing that bothers me the most is when im in CAS and im creating my sims, i can imagine intricate details to their personality and what theyre like but when i set them to play, they are always exactly like each other and their personality that i imagined for them when i was creating them becomes lost. because a sim that is supposed to be angsty or moody always ends up standing there with this dumb smile on their face.

Some of us want some hobbies for our grandma sims. We all have different opinions on what needs to be in the game.
EA is greedy! Everyone gets bored cause the lack of effort the EA team puts in. The traits system TRASH, no open world ruined the game. I'm not going to go out of the house to some shitty boring bar. when the loading screen takes like 3 minutes.
The Sims 3 gave us QUALITY gameplay AND worlds. As customers, we shouldn't have to expect the minim and be disappointed every time. I'm sick of the flavourless, sims, gameplay, and worlds. How you make a game called SIMS when they are just shallow boring-ass pieces of plain bread

my loading screen takes so long i get bored and stop playing it takes like 5 minutes and it's nothing on it, they could at least put something on the loading screen
Back when the sims 4 released I honestly was disappointed with the graphics. Entire downgrade and did not look like it should be sims 4. I bought it anyway(this was before I started getting getting the games free) and it was so boring. The expansion backs were expensive, no way I would be spending 20 for a stuff pack for 20 clothes and decoration items.

They can complain all they want about "taking too much time" and "budget" but at the end of the day you already have a ladder climbing animation in Island living and WE KNOW ea doesn't mind about reusing meshes and shit so don't play the "too complicated" card

The game devolved. It didn’t grow with the audience. In fact it did the opposite. Instead of getting messier and more mature as the audience grew it got more pg and we don’t go from 17 to 9. But apparently the sims does.

i want a pack called like ‘The Sims 4 : Middle School Years’ AND IT COMES WITH PRETEENS! their would be drama and your preteen sims could come home from school with a completely different mood that they went with. their would be after school activities such as : dance, gymnastics, football, soccer, and baseball, girl scouts/boy scouts. your sims would be able to make new friends and experience middle school. the create a sim items would focus on primarily preteens (nothing else.) and would bring 20 new hairstyles and 20 returning but edited to fit their body. you could change their height and give them insecurities. the insecurities would be usable to all ages. some new traits would be : “popular”, emotional, bully, goody two shoes, responsible, irresponsible. new features would be sleepovers, popularity meter, sports games and dance competitions, and more. the build mode items would be focused on pre teen rooms and activities. you could have pool parties, have long term friendships, lose friendships, go to community lots alone with your friends and mcuh more.

I use mods and cc too, but it does breath heavily and sometimes causes a little lag but not too much. I also have the sims 3 and that baby can run on mighty graphics without any lag. I take her for granted.

I really want a back to school expansion pack that includes pre-teens and field trips and after school activities. I want to go with them and they get into drama, find relationships, have a school dance and prom, get detention, iss, or oss. I also want a career for teachers in the pack and for parents to be able to go to school or teacher meetings, bring cupcakes for their birthday, be apart of the ptso, be a chaperone for trips. I need more modern clothes for kids, hopefully pre-teens, and teens. I really want it feel like school.

If only they did a “Get to School” pack that was university followed with these ideas. Add educational options for the younger sims, it would have fleshed University more. Have how you preform, what activities you do, relationships with primary/secondary school teachers, etc, all contribute to university.

The fact that the sims franchise has never included disabilities baffles me. Why can't my child sims fall off the swings and break their arm? I understand both would entail more animations, but a prostatic arm or leg could just be added in CAS. It would be cool if CAS has a tab for "Disabilities and Diagnoses" where a diagnosis could be as general as bad heart or bad lungs that would make your sim get tired out more quickly when exercising or need to visit the doctor more frequently. There could be an option to have the diagnosis be genetic too so it has a chance to be passed down

I think one of the biggest problems plaguing the sims is that Origin/ EA bought out Maxis right at the tail end of the Sims 3. Sims 3 seems like such a high standard but it wasn’t EA doing that, it was Maxis. That’s why we got everything we wanted in $30 packs; meanwhile EA gives us a feature or two from previous packs for $40. Sims as a franchise needs to be sold if it wants to live more than a few more years

at this point, i’m terrified that the sims 4 is becoming un-saveable. like even cars, open world, pre-teens, more stuff for kids to do, more stuff to get sims out of the house, more traits and trait slots, adding fears and favourites would only halfway save this gane, because a bulk of the stuff people really want came in half assed, overpriced expansion packs and ridiculous stuff packs. the emotions system was such a cop out in terms of making more life-like sims because it’s so bad. real people have more than 3 distinct traits about them. i wonder if the game developers even like what they’re doing anymore. the whole thing is sad.
Island living was probably the most lack-luster, there was no goal in the game. You become a mermaid, use all the features for a bit, and you're lost. Sulani is a beautiful world, probably one of the best in the game. I think Get Famous was good, but the world was awful, you felt quite crammed I recon. The ranking system was amazing. Just the world was really really bad.
With Cats And Dogs, I thi k it was going to be called pets since we found horses coded in the game. And that My First Pet Stuff was an expansion to an expansion.

My friend and I talk about this regularly! There’s *NO* story progression! I appreciate them wanting to give us more control over the gameplay but the amount of mods it takes to have *some* form of story is ridiculous. The modders are doing better with a lot of the gameplay than EA. That’s on top of all the other things they’re missing like more activities for sims of all ages. Elders and babies are literally just there. They also don’t expand on the things they have added. Why is San Myshuno the only world with apartments? Vacations have literally no purpose. They add things and leave it there, they don’t come back to it and ask “How can we make this better?” It just exists. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️

Corryn Hintz i has this idea where it was a transportation stuff pack and if you were traveling world to world, you have to buy a plane ticket, if you were traveling to another part of your world, you had to buy a car, but if you were traveling within your neighborhood, you could walk. ALSO, instead of the loading screens, you’d be with your sim on a plane or car. depending on the type of car or plane, you’d get there faster. it’s not just a loading screen, you can control what your sims do on the plane, and if there are kids in the car they can get bored. carsickness, car seats, new driving skill, parents teaching teens to drive, car crashes, regular maintenance on cars, plane crashes, new pilot career, ability to get a taxi or uber, taxi driver career.
but because capitalism is an illness, they’d prolly try to make cars a whole game pack, with the dingy loading game.

Yes, the only criticism the mainstream game changers have is about ugly buildings. I love Simsie, James and Deligracy but they're not helping ANYONE by not giving EA valid criticism.
