I love this song, and I hope you enjoy my interpretation in Mario Paint :)
About the video: I made this in 2010, my senior year of high school, back when Mario Paint videos were at the height of popularity. Some information about the program itself:
- The tempo was set to 2944. There was a 5 note-per-line limit of the program at the time. The tempo is set so high that notes will sound like they are played at the same time when placed on adjacent lines. This also gave me more options for volume control of each line.
- I did NOT use the vanilla Mario Paint sounds. I can and have used the original sounds included, but I personally just liked the soundfonts that other users had created(included in this video were sounds by SatoshiLyish, Cat333Pokemon, Adolfobaez, Friedfischer).
- However, I sill did all the work in the program. Each note was still individually placed, and each volume bar still manually adjusted. I did not import any MIDI file or cheat in any other way, I just changed the sound files each symbol played because I liked the way it sounded.
Thanks to all of you for making this time in my life a good time and giving me a reason to enjoy recreating and uploading Mario Paint music.

We don't have flying cars because they are too expensive to insure, because people can't even drive properly on a 2 dimensional plane. Adding 3 dimensions means cars would be crashing into each other and falling to the ground, causing even more death and destruction.
And I'm here nearly a decade later still enjoying it

I am surprised, shocked even, at the quality and balance of each component of this cover; the brass sells the melody without being obnoxious, the back ground chords are present enough to carry without distracting, the percussion *drives* this song forward without giving a cheesy feel, and the freaking chorus builds, gosh dang does it build together well. Not something I would expect from using Mario Paint. Bravo!

I think the instrumental solo break at 3:00 sounds the most like the original. To me, the sign of a truly good song is when it sounds great in other styles, adaptations, instruments, etc. This is one of those songs.

I recently listened to this on the car stereo while on a delivery for the pizza place I work at, and I felt very determined that I was doing a great job. I felt really confident as I made the turns to each street, and pulling up into the driveways of the customers. It also rained the last couple of days prior to writing this comment, so I think I was blessed... Or rather, the rains were.
