Hayden Christensen made some poor movie choices which sort of derailed his career but the rest of the major characters were all quite successful afterwards. Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor, Samuel L Jackson, Liam Neeson, Rey Park, Temuera Morrison. All had great success afterwards in cinema. Ian McDiarmid and Christopher Lee were already very well established actors before hand. Most of the other characters were portrayed by secondary/extras or were cameo appearances from other celebrities.

That's a great point, I never realised the word Droid, is only ever used in Star Wars! To most of us it's just a known word for a robot.
Because it came from the word Android
Droid is used in tons of things

Theres a band named Droid, the device operating system Android uses Droid as a shorthand, there was a 1988 movie called Droid, the term has had multiple appearances on tv, such as in the British comedy show Red Dwarf, and almost every sci fi property that uses the term android either officially or unofficially uses the term Droid as shorthand.
Besides the fact that it is such a commonplace word that it isnt really associated with Star Wars by society as a whole, namely because its definition isnt exclusive to the Star Wars universe.
