    Cutting an empty gas cylinder with a sparky wheel is suicidal. Science doesn't kill, half knowledge will.

    1) weld a 3inch scew on cap to the gas cylinder so you can easily refill it next time.
    2) run the hose through a bucket of water with the hose coming out the bottom...keep the water cold. Yield will be much higher.
    3) Don't cut a gas cylinder with a grinder like that without making damn sure there's zero gas in the cylinder or you'll be resting in pieces...

    Just a couple of suggestions; 1) put the first jar in some cool water and it won't melt, 2) instead of welding the lid back on the canister, make it (easily) removable. That is a LOT of work to cut and re-weld that cylinder every time you need to refill it with plastic.

      @@osamaahmeddd2244 pretty easily actually. Just don’t take the top off at all, turn the tank sideways, cut open a small latching door big enough for the peaces to fit in, and weld 3 sliding locks onto the latching door to make an airtight seal to make sure no fumes leak out. That makes it so that when you are done you can open the latched door and repeat the process

    As many have pointed out... cutting a propane cylinder with a grinder or anything with a flame/spark is a great way to get hurt or killed! Take the valve out with a wrench and fill the cylinder with water BEFORE you attempt to cut the top out of it. Filling with water will push out any and all propane that might be left in the cylinder.
    The trouble with trying to make the cylinder 'reusable' with a seal and screw-on top, is the heat being used. You might be able to get around this my just cutting a 3" to 4" hole at the top of the cylinder and then put a 2' piece of threaded pipe in the top. Weld the end into the cylinder, and then screw on a top with the pipe and elbow, etc. The extra length of pipe, may allow your seals/gasket material to remain undamaged through the heat process.

      But my teacher says gas can only come from dinosaur fossils... Aka fossil fuel... Are you saying the government lied? Short answer: No one is lying. There is a bit more to the whole picture.

    I agree with everyone about the dangers of this video 100%, and I certainly do not recommend this in any way, I certainly would not do this! With that said, many missed the point of the demonstration. It showed the basic simplicity of the concept. There are many ways to build this device, but without the basic understanding of how it works, it makes it difficult to create a viable device which could mass produce the fuel. In sure the individual was merely giving an example of the simplicity of the concept by visual demonstration. It is like trying to understand how a car engine works, when you don't even know what the pistons are for. Let your imagination be your guide, and make a better, safer and more productive unit, and share it, I would certainly watch it. That's the beauty of this channel. There are many creative thinkers out there, and everyone knows that we are all visual learners. Cut the guy some slack.

      Dang ole thing go boom man. That's what I'm saying cut out this damn annoying music and actually talk us explain shit. Cutting into a metal cylinder without filling it with water is like hammering a bomb on the nose sooner or later you gonna go boom.

    • @dirtyaznstyle4156
      @dirtyaznstyle4156 2 роки тому

      @@rhec-cornbread well, a bomb with no fuse fitted you could probably hammer on all day. Those thousand pound bombs or two thousand pound bombs dropped from high altitude that survive and don’t detonate? The fuse malfunctioned, if the detonation charge isn’t triggered by the fuse the shock of the fall wasn’t enough to set off the main charge of explosive inside the bomb. Hammer away! You won’t be able to match the forces generated by an explosion that would cause detonation. Unstable explosives are impractical…
      That being said, natural selection favors those that are handy but also those that have an analytical mind. Being able to put concepts together, make connections, realize the outcome of ones actions prior to doing something stupid. Or at least learn from the mistakes and misfortune of others! The top of the valve for the tank was missing so there’s no way it’s sealed. If it’s sat like that for few days or even better on it’s side with a bit of a breeze you should be ok.

    Unscrew the valve first and then fill the entire content of the cylinder with water to ensure that any remaining propane is removed before cutting a propane cylinder. WASTED HEAT. Dig a rocket furnace to get the most heat from the wood. Dig a hole with a covered trench leading under the fire and pile up the dirt around the hole. The air is sucked in the trench as the hot air rises. This also helps keep the heat around the reaction tank.

    • @buggsy5
      @buggsy5 2 роки тому

      @@sonacphotos My response had no mention of cost - which I don't consider a real concern.
      The ecological problem is that the carbon produced by the pyrolysis sourced fuel, plus the carbon produced by burning plant matter, produces more carbon than is produced by simply cracking crude oil in the first place. This is even more of a concern with the crude reaction vessel and heating method used in the video.
      I doubt seriously if a small plant can ever be made efficient enough to be carbon neutral. Even the big commercial pilot plants only hope they will be able to do so. And they have access to exotic catalysts etc that improve the process.
      There are two problems here - the production of more carbon and the pollution due to the plastics. Ideally, we would do away with plastics and use only metal and glass, both of which can be recycled at relatively low carbon cost.

      Yea I've watched a few waste to energy videos and always wonder how much it would be worth to do it on a smaller scale. This video isn't efficient or safe but it does give a few ideas of at least how to DIY your own plastic or like city/town collection of it.
      I was thinking a small building built mostly to catch all the carbon produced and using gas/propane as the heating sourcing for a small furnance. Furnace just needs some redesign to better catch some carbon emissions as well whats left when the plastic is melted down.

    Better to get a tank with a large screw on lid on one side and the exit pipe on the other... could use a cut out set of locking keys inside the bottle bottom, and a locking lid with matching cutouts that inserts and rotates a half turn to lock. As long as oxygen is minimized as much as possible the plastic will pyrolyze into combustible liquids and gases that can be condensed or burned off in oxygen rich flames with little risk of the pyrolization chamber tank exploding.... BUT!!! Too much oxygen in the container.... BOOM!!!
