This special extra episode of On Edge, chronicles the Beijing 2022 experience of our six teams as their months of training and preparation culminates in success for all of them in the Olympic Ice Dance competition.
Filmed in the last six months leading up to Beijing 2022, On Edge is the Olympic Channel’s first weekly figure skating reality docuseries featuring athletes Madison Chock and Evan Bates (USA), Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron (FRA), Madison Hubbell and Zach Donohue (USA), Olivia Smart and Adrian Diaz (ESP), Laurence Fournier-Beaudry and Nikolaj Sorensen (CAN), Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson (GBR), and coaches Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon, Romain Haguenauer and three time Olympic Gold medallist Scott Moir.

I'm going to miss Madi and Zach's skating, it was exhilarating to watch them on an olympic-size rink. They did so great at Olys and Worlds and I'm so pleased they went out with the performances they wanted and worked so hard for.

I was wondering if there would be a final episode. I‘ve loved following the IAM athletes this Olympic season. Gabi and Guillaume had two programs that were just magnificent and they performed outstandingly. The Olympic champions that I was certainly most happy for.
It was a great idea to create this series that brought us a little closer to all the dancing couples and we could see that what looks so easy and simple is actually a lot of hard work and a lot of sacrifice and self-discipline. They were all wonderful, but my heart and admiration always belonged primarily to Gabby and Guillaume - completely unique, inimitable, elegant and, in my opinion, they showed the world how beautiful and breathtaking ice dancing can be...
I absolutely loved this series. Thank you so much for creating it. I love Gabi and Guillaume, Madi and Zach and Madi and Evan. They are beyond amazing!! Hawayek and Baker are also wonderful!!

I love their friendship you don’t see that a lot in other sports
Gabi and Gui were so mesmerizing to watch but did anyone else think that their rhythm dance costumes looked like tessa’s moulin rouge in 2018? I’m so happy they won, they deserve it
the top part of the costume has a lot of similarities (neckline, fabrics, long sleeves) but the horizontal lines that accentuate the arm movements and line of the skirt are different. Great (same) designer as tessa's MR costume is goated.
I was thinking the same thing! The colour is definitely coincidental!
Yeah, they knew people saw similarities in the color and a bit of the design, but they really like their costumes and they didn't care what anybody thought, which is as it should be.
A fitting end to a wonderful series I thoroughly enjoyed! So stoked all 6 teams from the Ice Academy Montreal finished in the Top 10! What an experience they’ll always remember, training & competing together. And Gabriella & Guillaume are in a class of their own! ⛸🥇

The ice dance competition at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics did not have any footage for Wang Shiyue and Liu Xinyu from China, who were also trained in Montreal.
Unfortunately they both have not been in Canada this year.

Do gabbi and Guillaume skate in Canada because of bad ice conditions in France? I'm genuinely curious. Whenever international de France occurs people complain of ice conditions. Also, there isn't a large amount of top skaters representing france; is it just not popular? Too expensive?
They moved to Canada to join their coach Romain Haguenauer who became one of the head coaches of IAM.
To respond to your others questions, ice skating is not a popular sport in France, so there is not so much people who do it and there is almost no financial investment in it (other than tje coach, it is also one of the reason why Gabriella and Guillaume moved to Canada). In general, France is not a country that invest in sport (in compatison to the USA or Russia, the money put in sport by the government is almost non existent lol).
skating is not part of the culture as in Canada, and as said above, it's hard to get funds. Today there is only 2 other french couples that compete at an international level (european). But also Charlene Guignard and Solene Mazingue and Romain Le Gac choose to compete for Italy/Estonia/Canada. I hope i wasn't too unclear !

There need to be more points awarded for the lifts. Maddie and Zachary and Maddison and Evan has much more impressive lifts and moves and although Gabrielle a and guilaume have excellent skating skills they lacked an impressive lift/move.

Please, no! This is ice dancing, not a circus
This is Ice Dance, not pair nor - heaven forbids - acrobatics. Plus Maddie and Zach big lift looks this close from being illegal, I'm sorry but at the beginning he looks like he has extended arms and that's not allowed in dance. You'd know that if you actually knew what you were talking about. In fact, I'm pretty sure they got a 1 point deduction because of this, but I'd have to look at the score sheet to be sure.
This is not pairs skating. It's called Ice /DANCE/ for a reason! Lifts are not meant to be scored as heavily (this is on purpose!!) and there's a reason why extended arms are banned and extended lifts get big deductions. Please research the history of the sport and how it has evolved. There's a reason why edges, turns and twizzles are the major factors in scoring.
@@paulinel8805 but they have the most impressive slides when guillaume is on his knees and Gabi is swirled around. These are also lifts.

No están censurados, pero como dicen en otro comentario, es una serie sobre los patinadores de la academia de Montreal. Hablan sobre la temporada olímpica de ellos, si viste el capítulo del campeonato de España, salen Sara y Kirill, pero a los entrenadores le distorsionan la cara.

if you watched other videos from this series you would realise that they never mentioned any other teams except from the teams training at ice academy montreal because this series was focused on them specifically....
they're not cancelled, they're not part of the series. just like the Italians or the other Canadian pairing. this is only about the teams coached by M.F. Dubreuil, P. Lauzon and R.Hagenauer in Montreal
Because Russia is one of the uncivilized countries which justify doping scandal😅
